Pros +
- Friendly staff with warm welcome and early check in . Room ws very clean and comfortable.Excellent breakfast with choice of hot and continental.
- Room was comfy, food excellent, staff great
- Good location, amenities close by, and friendly staff.
Cons -
- Soundproofing wasn't so good as there were 2 connecting room doors, and so we were woken at 6am by people in the next room. The grounds and carpark could do with a bit of TLC as they are the first thing to be seen on arrival.
- Nothing in particular
- Evening meal continuously disrupted by very loud and discourteous diners on table nearby. Staff could of and should of asked them to be less rowdy. Other diners were changing tables to move as far away as possible.

Food overall was very good. Staff very polite and helpful.

Breakfast was good.
Room was very basic, Bathroom wasn't very clean. the room overall was dated, needs refurbishment. The restaurant only had half the menu available, very expensive for what the food was. £18.95 for a burger which wasn't my first choice but as half the menu was off it's what I ended up with.
Rooms were ready early and when I called in advance staff were very helpful. Beds were comfortable although moved every time you knocked them in the slightest.
Room was right next to the entrance. Room had been repainted and although clean but paint splashes and marks everywhere, very poor standard of redecoration. Breakfast was AWFUL. One type of croissant or bread only and nothing g to put in it, jam, ham , cheese etc. cooked breakfast bordered on inedible and had clearly sat for ages. Extremely disappointing for the money paid and what was offered.
The price was a bit high for the aged rooms and furniture. As someone who stays in the area a lot and was my first visit, I was a bit surprised. However, the room was very clean and the staff were some of the best I have dealt with and breakfast was superb. So I would stay again.
Great breakfast and friendly staff
Big was a bit too firm, a faster car charger would have been good.
Sunday lunch superb
Breakfast average. Orange drink was more like orange squash than orange juice. Hot water for tea was in jugs
Good food, comfortable bed and generally friendly staff .
Carpet on ground floor leading to bedrooms was dirty and well worn. Appreciate these rooms may be used mainly by pet owners but they should still be kept maintained. Very expensive spirits in bar
Staff
Linen was ripped booked on line with free breakfast. No evidence of this on the booking so charged another £25
Friendly staff good sized room with a bath
Felt slightly cold in room (although that could be personal to me) lighting was bad especially for wanting to do hair/make up
Easy check in, pleasant staff. Quiet, comfortable room, excellent cleanliness.Excellent breakfast
It was very comfortable and clean. Luke one of the managers was a very helpful young man, as we're the rest of the staff. The food was very good too.

At £135 we thought the price included breakfast, but no, that was £14.50 each extra. The standard double room was quite small considering the cost. The room was clean and comfortable, but not what we were expecting. The hotel was not exactly busy. The evening meal was fine.Breakfast was not the best, in fact bacon was overcooked, sausage tough skin, hash browns and scrambled egg bit of a funny taste, as were the mushrooms. Not impressed. Luke who waited on table was very pleasant.
Looking back at The Gables website the price of a standard double room was quoted as £81. Bit of a difference to the price Booking.com charged of £135 !!
My room was canceled because of a plumbing issue with no hot water
Clean, comfortable room and enjoyable breakfast.
The noisy neighbours as there was a wedding downstairs until the early hours and some guests had had too many sherbets… we have teens and we did not get a good night sleep… the night porter did his best to settle them… to their credit the hotel did partially reimburse us for the inconvenience and were excellent and professional in handling our disappointment.
excellent staff. Very clean
Coffee awful. Room cold. Shower flooded as disd our friends room. Heating needed turning up. I know other friends heating was broken but they were upgraded. So Well done, Best Western! Do change coffee or put more in pot!
Easy to find location by the motorway junction - and very handy for Bristol too. Excellent early check-in. Large clean room, good shower and comfortable bed. Breakfast - full cooked + cereal and pastries, excellent. And the Marco restaurant was fine too. Maybe expensive for some but the fixed price two course menu for £19.95 was good value. Plus nice bar - with friendly and efficient staff all round. Would recommend and will stay again should we venture this way.
All good . Met our expectations.
Breakfast was good except for screaming children, not the hotels fault, but maybe have a separate area for families. The bed was very comfortable although the duvet was too thin for November nights. The staff were lovely.
Summer duvets on the beds. Heated bathroom mirrors are needed, they misted up as soon as the shower was used and didn’t clear. The entrance floor was wet from the torrential rain, a larger rubber mat is needed to prevent slipping. Wi-Fi needs improving. Dated bathroom.
