Pros +
- Friendly helpful staff, ideal location for work trip, unfortunately arriving late and early start so no time to eat but have stayed on few occasions and food has always been great. Although a G&T was enjoyed very much. Plenty of space to park near entrance. Will stay again.
- Fantastic staff, cleanliness and ambiance. Stunning property and plants.
- We had a 3 hour journey to the property, which I explained on the phone to Dion when I booked, he rang us on the way down to see how we were getting on to enable us to have an evening meal. The meal was absolutely stunning, the cocktails to die for and the bed... So comfortable! What a gem!
Cons -
- Didn’t have a bath in the King room.
- Bit cold in the sitting room, so we didn’t stay down stairs. Sorry.
- The single lane approach over farm lane.

Super friendly staff in a great location. The room was really comfy & had everything we needed
quirky and beautiful. The history is interesting and the view is incredible.

Beautiful building, lovely friendly staff, great location.
Fabulous character Manor House with excellent chef
The single lane approach over farm lane.
Lovely decorated room, staff very friendly and welcoming. Great location for what we needed.Lovely little touch of classical radio playing as we entered the room. Our room was next to the lift but we had little noise from this. Hubby loved the bath.
Great customer service and room was phenomenal. We booked the Troya. Super clean, great bathroom, super spacious and really had the wow factor! The grounds were pleasant and lots of spaces within the lodge to sit and spend time in.
The cost of food and beverages were definitely on the pricier side. Our room rate didn’t include breakfast and was then an extra £20 a head on top. The food itself was delicious and beautifully cooked, but be aware that extras like coffees (such as latte/flat white and soft drinks were then additional.
Good quiet location, house with grounds, near M5 and Bristol.Food is excellent. Staff very polite and helpful. Ev charging points in car park. It is quite a small hotel, which I liked. The view from the second floor room was out to the channel, with a small balcony through french doors. Large bathroom, with slipper bath.
Room was querky! We were on the second floor, so in the roof. The beams were low and slightly awkward to get around the room, as the bed was too big, and difficult to get in and out of both sides. The kettle was too large to fit well under the taps to get water. Large bathroom, with bath which we both liked. It could have done with a magnified shaving mirror. The actual mirror was on the slanted ceiling, and so not at all helpful...but querky! I would call it a room of interest.
Dinner was excellent Staff very good and helpful. Grounds would be lovely in Summer
Stayed in the mews which was excellent value for money. Although the circular stair access could be tricky for some.
Location, comfort, facilities
A surprising patch of countryside within a busy city environment. The experience was one of a rural country house with happy staff that added to the relaxation.
The logistics of the site required a short walk outside to the room, but it felt idyllic.
Secluded setting, beautiful grounds and stately hotel, this stay exceeded my expectations on every level. The comfort of my room, the decor, the welcoming and professional staff, all made my stay special. Dinner in the restaurant was exceptional, the meal was perfectly delicious and the service was personal, professional and attentive. This was a memorable stay.
Absolutely nothing other than the fact I was only staying one night. I look forward to returning for another visit.
The room had bags of character with lovely soft furnishings. The bathroom was big and lovely and clean.
The lane up to it had lots of potholes but it wouldn’t put me off staying here again.
The staff were so hospitable and so kind
It was just a little dangerous on the top balcony on the rain but at the same time it was refreshing as not health and safety crazy
Excellent comfort spacious room and bathroom, nice decor, very clean comfortable will stay again when I am in Bristol, Staff very friendly make you feel welcomed.
Nothing I could say, I did not try breakfast, but next time I will.
Lovely staff, lovely hotel, great service
Breakfast was poor, coffee not hot, eggs benedict a 3 out of 10
Second time visiting this amazing house, this time it was as a gift to my wife, the team at Berwick where attentive and helpful.

Location was amazing, almost like we were in the Himalayas, a very spiritual feel. The gardens had very quirky Victorian garden ornaments and were very romantic. It would be an unforgettable wedding venue. The bedroom was huge fun with sn extremely comfortable bed and the bathroom stupendous. Breakfast was well cooked.
There was a musty smell in the bedroom. The bedside lamp couldnt be moved to the right spot for reading. Some of the furniture was a bit strange.
