Pros +
- The buildings are beautiful & I loved its history. I stayed with my dog who was made very welcome. The grounds and perfect for dog walking as well as very peaceful. The room was spotlessly clean, tasteful furniture for the period of the property & extremely comfortable bed. Food was delicious too & beautifully prepared. I would struggle to find any fault with this hotel!
- Gorgeous former convent, sensitively modernised. The retained ecclesiastical features make the buildings quite spectacular. Room temperature ideal. Staff attentive. Extra points for the Jacob's sheep with two lambs in the orchard.
- Very interesting building, especially climbing the bell tower. The staff were particularly pleasant and helpful. Also very much enjoyed the breakfast arrangements, IE not buffet.Yes
Cons -
- There is nothing to dislike with this property.
- Dinner was excellent, but there was only one vegetarian starter and one vegetarian main course: a curry, which I would not have liked. Fortunately, we didn't want starters, so I was able to adapt the starter as a main, but I do think we should get at least two options. Why not offer a halloumi burger and a bean burger in the grill section? Everything else was first class.
- Ran out of decaf tea bags which I thought strange for a large hotel.

All the staff were very happy and helpful, wonderful lady who cleaned the bedroom and was working our last day was excellent and very cheerful and helpful,. Couldn't fault the staff.as they promptly sorted a couple of hiccups.
Ran out of decaf tea bags which I thought strange for a large hotel.
The wi-fi has disappointing coverage and given it’s a poor reception area for phones it’s important. Excellent food in the restaurant, the service wasn’t up to the same standard.
The staff were lovely and made us very welcome. The hotel is a delight to explore...the old Callow Hall where nuns once prayed etc.Beautiful grounds.
Nothing...we liked the experience.
The grounds and the room were excellent . The staff were first class, very helpful, friendly and professional.
A beautiful hotel set in glorious countryside with views to die for . We have stayed here numerous times, our favourite short break, the staff are really helpful, Kenzie on reception went above and beyond. The food is locally sourced and is delicious.
The hotel is very distinctive set in its own grounds. Lots to see both inside and out.
The hotel, albeit good value for B & B is very expensive for drinks and food.
Lovely setting, buildings and grounds
The website is very misleading as to what facilities are there and available. No gym, no hotel bar available for use in the week.
Stunning building, steeped in history. There are lots of quirky spaces. There is a sympathetic blend of old and modern.
Absolutely nothing. It’s pretty faultless!
Staff very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Olivia on reception
En suite door could use a quieter latch… finding something I didn’t like is a big ask!
Breakfast lovely. Dinner was good. Service nice
Dirty cutlery at dinner
Quirky building beautiful grounds
Restaurant a bit chilly first night but made up for by wonderful food and staff
Food was Generous, delicious, great variety, incredible.quality, friendly and helpful staff
Not being able.to take.our.dog into the main resturaant. But we.were.able.to go into the bar area to eat with the dog.
Stanbrook Abbey is a stunning property, set in very spacious grounds on the edge of Worcester. It has been tastefully adapted as a hotel and has a large capacity both as a place to stay and as a wedding or events venue. We stayed one night only, en route to Oxford, and had decided to treat ourselves to one night of luxury in a comfortable place. Stanbrook certainly fit the bill with its attractive adaptation of the old property, retaining many of the original features. Our room was advertised as a ‘feature bedroom’ and whilst it was very nice and comfortable with a very good shower room, overall it was much smaller than I was expecting, having upgraded from a basic double. I’m not sure what the basic would have been like…We had dinner in the restaurant where the food and service were both excellent, as was breakfast the next morning, with a plentiful buffet and good hot meal selection.Overall we have a very comfortable and relaxing stay, albeit a brief one, and would definitely stay again if we wanted to treat ourselves to a similar stay in the area.
The bar staff didn’t seem very knowledgeable or well trained. I tried to order a cream sherry for my wife and not only could they not find any, they didn’t seem to have a clue what sherry was, and offered me the wine list to try to find it there…! I was a bit surprised that an otherwise well stocked bar in a hotel of this calibre didn’t have a bottle of sherry, which is hardly an obscure drink…
Great location, great staff the restaurant food was great if a little expensive, the breakfasts were large portions. Lots of parking, been a few times now and will be going back in the future. Last time we took our dog which was well pampered.
Can't fault anything.
Upgrade room on arrival, the excellent staff the location the history to the property
Nothing to dislike on our visit
Everything. Excellent welcome and just an unbelievable building.
The room was so hot we could barely sleep. George’s bar isn’t really up to the standard of the building in my opinion. It’s very 2000s and needs some updating
The welcome was amazing. Olivia in particular was as attentive and present the whole time. Actually she is an excellent front of house receptionist
Was disappointing that I had to advertise my need for an emotional assistance dog at breakfast. Bit I tried not to let that overshadow
