    Pros +

    • Me and my husband came here for our 2 year anniversary. The room was small but very cosy, the bed was extremely comfortable. It was clean. The location is amazing! Literally a stones throw away from the sea! The amneties were great! Choice for breakfast was fantastic and delicious! The rooms itself was warm and the windows were easy to open (surprising in a lot of hotels the windows are nearly impossible to open)!
    • Central location with sea view, great breakfast
    • Fairly good location. Clean and tidy. Easy checking in procedure.

    Cons -

    • We liked everything however there were a couple of very minor things that were missing, more than likely a small oversight as well! We had tea, coffee, sugar and oat milk, only a couple of the cows milk sachets, we did have to buy a small carton of milk and some sugar in order to have tea and coffee. The mugs had slight marks on them but nothing a quick rinse in the sink didnt fix! We weren't left ant spoons for the hot drinks however we bought some wooden cutlery which ill use for work as well so not an expense that bothered us in the slightest.
    • We felt that breakfast finished a little too early for our liking, being 9:00. We came away for a restful break but did not make breakfast on any of the three mornings of our stay. It would have been more convenient if it had been a 10:00 am finish.
    • Nothing really. Free parking near could be difficult but the plumber working in the property moved his van for us so we parked right by the door!

Great location near the sea front and our Castell room was very comfortable with a nice bathroom and sea view. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was excellent with good quality local products.

Clean and comfortable and very good value for money. Plus a great breakfast

Nothing fancy but a clean and comfortable overnight stay

Check in was easy and the room was cosy and clean. Location is perfect. 2 minutes in to the town and the beach on the door step. The bed was very comfy. Breakfast was delicious and staff were always friendly and helpful. We opted for the ensuite bathroom. We would definitely stay again.

    Leaving site

Dirty floors shared bathroom down 2 flights of stairs broken hangers room under 8 feet long and across lounge closed owner said free parking outside got £70 parking ticket due to parking half way over dropped kerb surprised booking. Com has this scruffy guest house on site.

Breakfast was excellent. Location excellent as well and it was quiet at night.

A little run down with a need for redecoration and new furnishings. Rain on roof window kept me awake.

Very cosy, very nice and quiet spot. Can ear the sea at the morning. Shared bathroom was not a problem out of season, there was very little people. Everything was clean, breakfast comes in regular, vegetarian or vegan.

Easy check in. Great breakfast with vegan and vegetarian options which made us very happy.

All was good. Definitely stay again next time I'm in Aberystwyth.

A lovely family run B&B. The room was warm and clean. We were not on suite but the loo was near by and the shower was clean and hot with toiletries provided. The breakfast was freshly cooked with good quality ingredients. Excellent value for money and a very pleasant stay. Would definitely go again.

    Good location

No shower curtain. The room is extremely dated, especially the bathroom.

Good location, tasty breakfast, value for money

    8GaryPosted on: 1-26-2026

Breakfast was very good, staff were friendly

A glass door on the ensuite, not appropriate in my opinion. Lack of cupboards to put clothes in or at least a bedside table

It was a really good stay, nice simple layout for the bedroom and en-suite so that the room didn't feel overcrowded, just everything we needed for comfort. Located just seconds away from the beach and the Hut where you can buy food and drinks by the sea. The carpet on the stairs and in the room with the wallpapers, gave a nice feel to the place. The dining room was a lovely little room with quiet music playing on an old radio in the corner, breakfast had good few choices and brilliant fresh cooked breakfast with just the right size portions. I just really enjoyed how homely it all felt which made the experience very comfortable to me.

In the heart of Abberyswyth. Close to everything. Breakfast was lovely. Cooked fresh and how we liked it. Staff were very nice.

Dust all over sliding door to bathroom. Which didn't shut fully. There is a gap so you can see into toilet and smell it from bedroom.

Staff very friendly breakfast was amazing

The heating only comes on for 2 hours so the room was freezing cold

    9ButlerPosted on: 1-11-2026

Easy finding room and clean .

The only thing i didnt like was breakfast finished at 9.only on for an hour. So you could not have a lye in.

I was making my way to Aberystwyth to deliver a tutoring session for the university. This has been my fourth visit to The GwesTY . Carwyn was brilliant as always, the breakfast is all locally sourced, and more than sets you up for the day. The staff were all spot on and made the two night stay more enjoyable. Location wise, a short walk to the beach. Five minute walk into the town centre. I will be back again for certain. Highly Recommended!!!.....
