Sketchley Grange Hotel & Spa

Location was just what we needed. The spa is really good and clean, but that's run by another company. Room service food was really good and quick.

The beds are really wide but short. I'm 6ft and my feet hung off the end. Beds are also really firm. No shower gel etc on the shower, had to ask 3 times for it gave up and went to get some. The shower cubicle was tiny, and the shower is very powerful with no adjustment on it, so it just blasted my poor missus in the face. It also makes it impossible to wash as it washes away any soap on your hand or sponge before it touches you. Toilet seat was loose and missing a piece. The furniture is OK but very tired and dated. No power sockets by the beds either.

nothing as i paid £220 a room and didn’t get the room i booked i found the room i booked for £130 but the rude manager with all the makeup plastered all over her face wasn’t interested and just lied to my face and kept smirking very unprofessional beware lifts never work either

Room size, good location - easy to access. Bed and sofa was very comfortable. Staff were very accommodating, as we asked for the balcony doors to be locked.

Having paid a lot of money for the executive room, to have to pay £10pp to use the pool facilities I don’t think it reasonable. No mini fridge in the room either. The bath water wasn’t very hot, maybe for safety reasons not sure

Staff very helpful and friendly, room was amazing, very clean, warm and big space. check in was very smooth and quick. Receptionist very professional and I feeled very welcomed every time. Car park free , the spa is amazing, good temperature of the swimming pool, jacuzzi very hot. The dinner was amazing, food and drinks was very good. Everything in the hotel smells very nice ,is clean and fresh.Thank you for the amazing stay at your hotel. Definitely I will come back!!!!!!!! So see you soon

Sketchley Grange had the spa and was not far to travel. Good price for Valentines Day on the whole was a good stay.

We felt the spa was tired and the pool was freezing. We felt the staff although very nice and accommodating couldn’t cope with the number of customers. We asked for some water which never materialised. One pudding arrived and we had to ask for the other which had been forgotten.

The spa was dated and to fullThe restaurant food was poor and overpriced the picture of steak meal was meant to be a 8oz sirloin shockingly small meal for £32

Staff Been here many times will always come back

Party was very loud - we didn’t go to sleep early but if we wanted to we wouldn’t have been able to so didn’t bother us too much but only thing I could find that’s an issue

The staff were lovely and friendly particularly housekeeping, reception and bar staff. Really nice garden area. Food was good and lots of choice at breakfast. The spa was lovely but make sure you book any treatments before you go (especially if you go over valentines weekend!)

Our room was really cold and we ended up with 2 heaters on our 2nd night (reception staff so helpful with this though).8 In fact the hotel itself was quite cold (except bar area). It is a dog friendly hotel but there was no provision for dogs (poo bins). Pool was highly chlorinated.

The Staff were very nice and professional, the food and drinks were lovely. The room was spacious and comfortable except the temperature at the beginning.

The room was very comfortable except for the temperature which took us a while to figure out. It looked like the thermostat was defaulting to 19 and that felt like much colder at the very beginning

The lunch, the rooms were lovely and spacious. It was clean.

The lighting wasn't great in the room.

Entrance was beautiful and bar area was nice atmosphere

Spa was full of children running around and jumping in the pool

Staff were wonderful and friendly and the food was excellent

The property was tired and was showing signs of it. We had upgraded but the sofa had seen better days both arms were missing the stuffing. The coffee table was scratched and the room was generally tired

All expectations were met and the staff were very friendly. Directions around the hotel, bar, restaurant and leisure pool were clear from the staff.

An update in general. Everything felt worn and well used. Comfortable but well used. When new this hotel would have been quite impressive.

The room heating was noisy and blew cold air through the vents. The room was cold and when we requested the heat to be increased, it just blew cold air harder and more loudly. Due to this not the place to stay in the winter.

Location was lovely & the spa was a great touch.

We had room service. The food arrived verging cold and both meals arrived 15/20 minutes apart. We paid for late check out however a cleaner attempted to come in our room while we was sleeping before our check out time.

Room was very spacious and spotlessly clean

The only negative experience was the meal in the restaurant, I ordered a burger and it was so tough I could not eat it. But I have to say the breakfast was outstanding.

Breakfast would have been much better if there was vegan or halal sausages.Breakfast area was kept clean which was really good.

The room I was given was so outdated. The bathroom and shower was not maintained as the shower kept making noise and the sink also kept getting blocked. Very disappointing.
