Cons -
- There were no bar and dining room facilities as they were apparently being refurbished, although this wasnt stated on booking. There was no heating as apparently wasnt working. Also not stated when booking. The room was dirty, with someone else's razor head being left in the shower and rubbish on the floor of the bayhroom.A refund was politely requested both in person at the hotel and via booking.com. These requests have been ignored. We did not stay at the property and had to book a hotel elsewhere for the night. Do not recommend booking this hotel.
- The room was cold I spoke to the staff and they told me the heating was on but the radiator was cold the valves did nothing The door in the hallway did not shut quietly was banging shut late into the evening the tv did not have any terrestrial channels only subscription channels The view out the window although not meant to be room with a view but dumped rubbish and old mattress just looked awful All in all not great I was only staying one night however I don’t think I would bother with it again
- No mattress protector is a big no no, droaning noise like a generator all night. Outside area bins overflowing, mattress stacked up for disposal near carpark area.

Beautiful old features
Was under renovation. This was not stated on booking. Com.Owners were very apologetic gave us a free drink and complimentary breakfast. I’m sure when all is renovated we will return.
Staff was very friendly
The heat in Room 216 i think that was the room number, was way too hot, the shower was scolding or freezing, the tv didnt work
Poor
Everything, bed uncomfortable No heating Shower wouldn't turn off
Friendly staff, great location, good value. Room was large and spacious, had an old charm to it.
Good location,
Toliet woundn't flush, shower wouldn't turn off without great force, and the bed was uncomfortable with spriping in my back.
Lovely old traditional Hotel in the centre of town with good parking
The heating wasn’t working and neither was the shower (the bath was ok) nearly froze the first night but better when I was given a fan heater the next night & extra duvet ( no extra duvet in the wardrobe)
Good location and good & clean room
Friendliness of reception staff.
Staff were really friendly and helpful.
The showere was difficult to turn on, then was cold, eventually got it to work and then it was not possible to switch the shower off, had to leave running until it could be fixed by the hotel. Very little soundproofing between the rooms, an between the room and the corridor. Jobs that had been done on the room were not done to a good standard.
The location. Room was warm and comfy.
The hotel is still a work in progress and needs much more money and work doing to it to bring up to standard.
Excellent locationComfortable bed
TV didn't workCleanliness of room was poor, with toe nails on the carpet and a dirty bathroom floorCard details taken for damage to room Water in the shower was scalding hot Couldn't turn the shower off very easilyDripping water in the shower which kept me awake
it was close to where i wanted to visit and had off street parking, they did fix the room mix up.
after paying extra for a twin room, when I came to check in we had been given a double room. the only twin room left had broken heating and the shower was leaking plus it looked like some one had used the shower when I wasn't in the room. in the morning the key didn't work even the second I got from reception didn't work.
Showere control problematic and very small Breakfast and brefasst service poor
Breakfast Service
No food available, no breakfast available, barely any staff around. Hard bed and cold room. Was cheap though
The location
No pillows made up on the bed and only towels for 1 person when there was 2 persons
Location to local amenities and carpark.
Shower was cold and wouldn't come warm. Specifically booked twin room/suite. Got allocated room and it was x1 double bed, no ironing facilities, no-one at checkout, all corridors to reception/checkout desk had no lights on in darkness, even after rining the bell still no service so had to leave the room key on the desk after quite a wait.
Good central location
Stained sheets and pillow cases Noise from plant room No staff available
Warm and clean room, the hotel must’ve been one of the best at its time. But now is in the process of being refurbished after being taken over .
Finding every we’re in darkness and main entrance door locked. No one on reception
