    • Room was perfect for me, the only thing that let it down was a dead pigeon skellington hanging outside the window
    • Amazing old building , great pub and restaurant downstairs , good parking , extremely pleasant staff , very comfortable room . Absolutely amazing to look out of windows that are hundreds of years old ! Restaurant is great and as a coeliac I was delighted with the gluten free options and gluten free draught beer .

    Cons -

    • The old building
    • Nothing to complain about
    • Mattresses old and dumpy. Could use new ones. Water pressure is low for showers and occasionally there isn’t hot water.

Great stay at the Crown. It’s a lovely quirky hotel. Very clean and comfy rooms with a great food.

The staff were so accommodating to myself and friend, who were on a long cycling trip. They allowed us to have a much earlier breakfast than we should have had and helped us with our bikes. Thank you

Remarkable historic building in prime location in the historic centre of Nantwich.Very comfortable room with all the features of a truly historic hotel. The en suite was fitted out in great sympathy with the room The whole place was an historic gem.Staff were friendly and most obliging. We had good breakfasts

Beautiful historic hotel on the center of Nantwich. Excellent restaurant on ground floor with great breakfast or dinner. Because of the age of the property there are steep stairs, however the staff is happy to help with any luggage.

Mattresses old and dumpy. Could use new ones. Water pressure is low for showers and occasionally there isn’t hot water.

Clean, fresh, rooms perfect, amazing location

The building is very old , stairs were very old and steep the second set were even worse very rickety and steep , not suitable when you have a poorly back ! Definitely not suitable for older people. The bedroom was on a slope and so was the bathroom, not very good at all !!

With it being a very old building not sure except maybe a more secure and safer staircase.

A lovely welcome by the staff - receptionist came outside to help with the parking (there was a festival on and roads/car parks were closed) - she directed us to where we could leave the car. Room was a decent size, as was the bed which was very comfy. Complimentary toiletries and teas and coffees were of good quality. Location is excellent if you want to park your car up and just explore the town - couldn't be more central. This hotel is very very old, expect uneven floors and stairs and low beams!

Had we known that it was a spiral staircase to get up to our room on the second floor, we would have requested a first floor room. It was just about manageable, but would have been impossible for elderly/infirm. The TV was very small, more like a computer monitor - didn't spoil our stay but for those who like a big TV in their room, might not be enough.

Central location, good breakfast, quiet streets at night.

No lift (for quite valid reasons) so ask for an accessible room if you struggle with stairs. A decent selection of craft beers would be welcome.

Lovely character hotel in the centre of town with friendly staff. Very quiet bedrooms. Amazing selection of beer in the bar and the best publican I’ve come across for long time, we tried many of the beers!

The shower water pressure was poor but there was an apology notice explaining it was an old property.

Stayed for a music festival - location was superb and staff were professional and very helpful

There was a problem with parking due to the volume of people but this was sorted with very little fuss

Receptionist helped us with our parking spot. Staff friendly, lovely old building, glad was on first floor as stairs bit of challenge being wonky. Great location, good food and drink. Nice and clean. Bath towels normal size and all clean.

Could hear everything that was said at bedtime from room next door which was surprising as old buildings usually have thick walls? Room 16 had no windows apart from a ceiling one, it had a blind but a lot of light still leaked through at 5 in the morning.

Nice room, smallish but full of character, the location is perfect for us and the breakfast was fabulous

Location and chartacter of the hotel, we have stayed at the Crown a number of times, always very pleased

Beautiful quirky old building with lots of unique features. Friendly staff and very well organised for a very busy weekend of events.

Like the area of nantwich, handiness of the train station nearby

Hotel was ok but not ideal regards climbing stairs and structure, a bit creaky and out of kilter for walking around. It is old I know but health and safety should rethink this one , wouldn't stay here again. Food was very good though ?

    9DavidPosted on: 4-17-2025

Love the building, architecture and woodwork.

    8AndrewPosted on: 4-16-2025

Lovely, friendly staff. Breakfast was great. View is lovely from the top floor, a little piece of history sleeping in there overnight. The floor is overhanging the street so not one for anyone who has vertigo! Only complaint was I got locked out bc the lock malfunctioned and I couldn’t get through to the front desk. Not what I needed at 11pm after a long day. Fortunately I was able to get through and get in.

A well maintained Tudor building which, because it is over 500 years old, has wonky bannisters, creaky floorboards and a warren like feel of corridors. But the rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel is right in the centre of Nantwich, with a handy small car park out of the back. The bar and eating area were nicely busy and friendly, with nice tributes on the wall for the pianists who have played the piano there. I hope the piano comes back to life again soon.
