Pros +
- Staff were mostly very attentive and friendly. Excellent breakfast Large bedroom Blackout curtains Very quiet Complimentary water and coffee etc Comfortable bed - mattress, pillows and duvet.
- The food was superb. Though some dishes appeared to be of limited size in terms of the helping, the food proved to be filling and the cooking (or rather cuisine, for it was of that standard) superb. We spent quite a lot on dining in, but the fare was definitely superior to what we might have found elsewhere. Excellent breakfasts too!
- We've been before so knew what to expect - the quality and staff are what makes this place special.....oh and the fact we can bring the dog ?
Cons -
- The sink in the ensuite was dirty on day 1. .. and not cleaned properly on day 2 The noise of vacuuming during breakfast. When checking out the staff seemed not to believe me when I said the cost of breakfast was included ¿ I offered to show her the
- Nothing that comes to mind.
- I'd booked a table in advance for an evening meal and had confirmation from the hotel but when we got down we were told there was no reservation. However, that wasn't a problem as the restaurant wasn't full so we were added to the restaurant booking system. Come check out we were charged £60 for being a "no show" - luckily it was itemized on the receipt so I was able to dispute it and the amount was credited to my husband's credit card....but he hadn't even checked before paying. Thought the staff member should have noticed it too as we were resident there for 2 nights and ate in the restaurant both nights. Just be vigilant.

Everything about our stay was exceptional! The room we had was pure luxury, and the evening meal was faultless. Kayleigh and the rest of the team were so attentive, professional and very friendly ... we will be back!
Nice bar, good food and service, comfy rooms, lovely breakfast we were travelling with our dog and they were very accommodating.
Very friendly staff, lovely food. Room clean and comfortable.
Room was a bit noisy being by the road and the church bells go off all through the night every 15 minutes. Not the hotels fault though.
Lovely room, comfortable bed, excellent food.
Long wait for dinner.
The customer service was outstanding and the staff seem to genuinely enjoy their job and chatting to their customers
It's a shame there isn't a bigger bar area for drinks and nibbles as it is mainly set out for customers having meals
I was on a very stressful visit to see my gravely ill brother so didn't manage breakfast, lunch or dinner but in the evenings I was happily undisturbed in my own quiet and recuperative time.
Noisy neighbours banging doors at 6am but that's to be expected.
The Bears Paw never disappoints, rooms are always comfortable, clean and staff always helpful. Food is always good, the choice of drinks at the bar is excellent.
No bad feedback at all, if anyone has a bad experience they would be very unlucky.
Room was excellent, food was amazing, service was excellent, overall hotel was very clean, staff were friendly, and welcoming.
I did not like the fact that a "Tips Jar" was added automatically to our overall bill. I feel we should have been asked if we wanted to give a tip, not forced into paying one. For me this ruined what was a very enjoyable stay. I am very disappointed in the management or company who run this hotel.
Room was excellent, clean and very comfortable, though the tv could be better placed, silly position low in the corner of the room and far from the bed
Not enough comfortable seating for having only drinks. Needs more than a couple of sofas and a few stools. Bartender should smile more and be welcoming. Food from the valentines menu was forgettable. Bland camembert. Tasteless and tough chateaubriand. Good profiteroles. Expensive and quality not matched.
Everything was excellent, the room was large, clean and the four poster bed was very comfy, the dinner and breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and pleasant.
Nothing everything was fine.
Pretty village. There on buisness and more homely than a hotel and with great food. Thanks
Exceptional service from beginning to end.Our room was beautiful and immaculately clean. Dinner was delicious and our waitress was friendly and professional. Breakfast was perfect and the coffee kept flowing!
Nothing to dislike!
Big comfy roommassive bathroom and shower.Stunning food, the fish special could have been served in any high end restaurant, and decent beers on draughtProper breakfast Smiley staff ;)
Dogs. Its clearly a dog friendly place however maybe have an area where dog families eat. A dog jumped up at our breakfast table and the owners just laughed and thought it was ok, its not.Whilst it wouldn't be a reason for not returning it does annoy me a tad and why its a 9 not 10..
Food was lovely, great breakfast and lovely staff especially Sophie who was really happy and helpful.
Room a little dated, toilet really low down and dogs barking and creaky floor boards when other guests walked around woke us up a few times.
The staff are very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast and dinner of excellent quality and choice. Always a nice ambience and we thoroughly enjoy our stop offs as located conveniently just off the M6. Happy reception for our wee dog too.
Gorgeous room very clean and well decorated. Food was also amazing the option for room service from the main menu was much appreciated. Breakfast was also lovely.
Had to enquire multiple times to get the room I paid for but ended up well as we were placed in a lovely room after querying.
Location was nice. Food was better than average. Staff were very good.
First room, standard was too small. A bit tired looking in general. Comfy area not really big enough.
