Beautiful hotel, lovely room (2), comfortable bed and no noise even though it's on a main road. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice to suit everyone. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Would definitely return.

This was more of a heritage spot with nice personalized service.Mr. Darren was personally taking care.I would suggest to book a double Bedroom as single bedroom is too small even for one person.

Since it has just 7 rooms so they close after a certain time and then one faces the issues for check in. No one to welcome the guests.Very Poor Signage to indicate the presence of Hotel. Need to have a bright sign visible at night time.

The staff where nice and also helpful,the hotel was in a good location,the breakfast was nice lot of selection,bed was nice and comfy all in all had a very nice stay.

It’s a very convenient location and we’ve stayed previously several times.

The bedroom was a little ‘tired’ this time - no sockets by the bed, no bedside lamps, and the bed itself was very hard and so were the pillows. The en-suite on the other hand seemed brand new.

I booked a single room, but got upgraded to a lovely double room (see photos): room 1. I know one reviewer stated that room 1 was a bit noisy due to facing the main road, that didn't bother me too much as I live near a B road in a city centre myself.

The place was clean and tidy, Darren was lovely and welcoming. He was attentive and efficient when it came to serving breakfast. Hot and cold food was served at breakfast and it’s all you need.

I had a single which was small but plenty adequate. The staff were all friendly. The room was comfortable clean and well kept. Nice bath room and a cracking hot shower. Space to get a little work done. The breakfast was lovely freshly cooked.

Room was spacious and well equipped and easy walking distance to the town centre. Good to have parking.

Pillows were a bit firm.

The Mansfield Lodge Hotel is based on the corner of a street, with the car park entrance in the smaller Park Street almost at the junction. Staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The single room was small, but well presented, with a decent sized bathroom. Free secure Wi-Fi available. The food in the evening was nice and the breakfast very good. Breakfast in the morning is from 07.00am, with both continental style and traditional available. The lady in the morning got my cooked breakfast done quickly (but very nicely), when I informed her I had to be away for 07.30.

A couple of very small items. The evening menu list of food is not large and the stool in the room is not the best to work at for a business user.

I think they like to know what time I was due to arrive but didn’t ask me until the day I was checking in so perhaps could ask before then? Also, sometimes you just don’t know what time you’re gonna arrive

*Superb charming hotel. Very comfortable. Lovely garden around it.* Good cooked breakfast.Very helpful friendly staff. Cosy dining room.As I had to go out quite early on first day, thus missing cooked breakfast, the kind lady provided me with cereals ,yoghurts etc.to take to my room.* Helpful gentleman ensured safe manoeuvring in parking space.

*Lack of lift to bedrooms due to old style building. Beautiful grand staircase, but a strain on injured or ageing knees!*Weekend breakfast starts too late if one needs to be out very early (like exhibitors setting stands at events).* Onsite parking quite limited to abt 5 cars. Probably road side parking allowed but I want my car on site.* No restaurant meals at wkend was very disappointing.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel and we have to say for a 2 star hotel we were very impressed. The whole hotel and room was immaculately clean, the room was large and toastily warm, the staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful, and our room was cleaned and fresh towels provided on the 2nd day which we were not expecting.Breakfast was absolutely amazing and was on the table within 20 minutes of us sitting down both mornings
