Cons -
- Receptionists (except Ness) weren’t very friendly. Facilities out of action in spa - snow cave and monsoon shower. Spa didn’t feel luxurious. Noises rooms with thin walls and non soft close toilet seat and doors - made it feel less luxurious

Very good spa
Staff very nice breakfast staff very helpful
Breakfast was fantastic , staff are all on point and lovely , facilities is great and the atmosphere is lovely
The room was full of mold and we were given a disability room and the shower didn’t get hot it was cold, we did mention this to reception who just apologised and said we should of rang someone to come out for the shower beimg cold but it was 10am and check out was 11am, I just think you get in shower to get a hot shower not have to ring and get someone out but this is my third time coming and wouldnt stop me trying again, just a little disappointing this time
The staff, the service and the public areas of the Hotel where absolutely perfect
We had a room at the emd of a corridor and in the corridor there was door that had the squeakiest hinges and up to 3.30am constantly could heard clearly from our bed. Also the flush in room 320 would carrying on filling up for at least 45 minutes after flushing and would keep us awake.
The staff are all amazing. Nothing too much trouble. The spa is fabulous. The food offerings are excellent - breakfasts, lunch and dinner. Great bar atmosphere.
We booked the Penthouse Suite which was very spacious but the heating wasn’t adequate. We were cold and there were no instructions for increasing the temperature or getting heat through the air con unit. We did speak to reception but as it was Christmas, nothing could be done. We just used the blanket off the bed.
Comfy rooms and beds. Staff fabulous and friendly food wonderful
Spa area dated. Not many areas for beds.
Excellent hotel with lovely staff. Food is very good. Rooms can be quite a walk down corridors.
You cant use the spa or pool on day of check out. They are very strict about this and its a shame as its such a lovely pool!
Room decor was nice! Reception staff were friendly.
The hotel is run for the convenience of the hotel and not the guests. Very odd policy of not being allowed to use the spa facilities the morning before you check out, yet you’re still on the premises. You’re only allowed to use the spa on the day of arrival. Check-in is 3pm, so you have a very small window to use the spa if you have something on in the evening! Tbf you are informed about this on arrival, but it doesn’t make the guest unfriendly policy any more palatable.Breakfast was copious but average quality, not helped by there not being any fresh coffee or tea available. It’s from a machine! Fine if you’re staying at a budget hotel, but given the cost of the room, it should be better.Food in the bar is way, way overpriced. Laughable cost for an open, limp sandwich!
I didn't use the spa. Breakfast and room excellent, staff fantastic.
Nothing, everything was great
I loved the Spa, the treatments, the food.
The bed was very uncomfortable too hard and the springs were coming up when you moved. The pillows were horrible, they really need to invest in new decent pillows.Sad to say it goes down as the worst sleep I've had in any hotel room and I've stayed in many. The lighting is very inadequate not one decent light apart from the bathroom which isn't much good when most of your time is spent where the bed is.The WiFi was none existent as was the TV as it requires the Internet too for many channels.
Comfortable rooms and beds lovely gardens with nice clean spa facilities
The prices in the restaurant however the food was worth the money and the corridors leading to the rooms were very cold
Friendly staff at breakfast was about the only positive about this stay
Room service, unhelpful staff, rude house keeping staff and no access to spa haha. Still had to pay for food that was really bad
Lovely room and decor,clean spacious
Nothing really Just Wi-Fi wasn’t good throughout the hotel
Spa .food .Bedroom
STAFF IN BAR VERY POOR.
Location
It was dirty, you couldn’t use anything in the spa due to too many people, spa facilities some not working, nothing like the last time we were there… very very poor!Breakfast was a shambles!
The staff were very nice. The room was clean. We had a nice evening at the spa and particularly enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi and the sauna.
There was a dim light in the room, coming from the back panel of the bed, that could not be turned off. If you are one of the people who like a completely dark room to sleep in and travel with a blue tack to cover LEDs at night (I know you are out there folks), don't book this hotel or maybe inquire about the possibility of having a dark room beforehand.
We love this hotel and stay there at least once or twice a year when visiting relatives on the Wirral. The staff are always upbeat, friendly and professional. The rooms are well appointed and the spa, whilst not extensive, is very pleasant.
The catering for vegetarians is really quite poor for a modern hotel of this standard.
The bar staff let me know that my bedroom was ready and that we could take our bags to our room. Lovely village and gorgeous location. Enjoyed the bar area. The Reception staff tried to assist my hubby by looking for some alternatives for him to wear as it was a black tie do- really helpful and really appreciated.
When we got back to the hotel after our friends 50th Birthday party - it was 12.30 am we all wanted to have one more drink in the bar the staff were looking after the front door and bar area and said they couldn't do both and attempted to serve half of us- there were 7 of us and told us we had to go to our rooms for further drinks. The man said It was an inconvenience to him to serve us drinks but ended up doing it. Another £56 for the hotel but under duress and not nicely spoken to which was a shame!
Housekeeping excellent. Room is well stocked and cleaned to a good standard. Breakfast great. All good quality foodstuffs, staff lovely esp duty manager Carl who runs a very tight ship even when restaurant really busy on Saturday morning.Gym bistro staff lovely. Much better choice of food and better value than restaurant in main hotel
No wi-fi whatsoever due to external issue. Guests should not have to pay for data it's not their fault. Cold in room on 1st night. No blankets and resented being told to ring down when single woman with flu. Couldn't get through at all to order room service, this was confirmed when trying to ring hotel as left charger in room. Took 15 mins for phone to be answered. Bath/shower too hot and duty mgr had to be called who admitted it was a maintenance issue. Attitude of receptionist Georgia left a lot to be desired! Despite all these issues I was completely fobbed off and emphasis put on me to try to resolve them!
