About
Built in 1879, the pretty Millfields Hotel is just a 5-minute drive from the coast. It has free fitness and spa facilities, an art deco bar, free parking and free Wi-Fi. Spacious rooms all feature a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, and an individual private bathroom. Some rooms still have original features, with four-poster beds and a dining area. Millfields’ richly decorated art deco bar features luxurious leather seating, a fireplace, and gorgeous artwork. With the hotel located in the famous fishing port of Grimsby, the bar and hotel restaurant features local fresh fish and chips. Guests can also enjoy traditional bar food and an à la carte menu. Guests also have access to a range of activities including squash courts and a fitness suite. More relaxing options include an in-house hair salon and aromatherapist. Grimsby Town Rail Station is less than 5 minutes’ drive from the building.

- Everything was amazing. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The food was excellent, ate there 4 times and every meal was freshly prepared, puts more expensive restaurants to shame. Great selection of drinks in the bar. Last, but certainly not least, the staff were fantastic. Attentive, polite, courteous and friendly, always very helpful. We will not hesitate to stay here again.

There was nothing not to like
Friendly staff and the best fish and chips
Busy periods sometimes nobody serving at the bar
Room very clean a little small things flickering light shower seal needs replacing told staff who were excellent and will be sorting. Had an afternoon reception after a commital of ashes , excellent food etc.Breakfast and evening meal very good nothing too much trouble.
Can’t say anything really probably a little tired and maybe updating re
The staff here were exceptionally helpful, very friendly and nothing was too much for them. They are the best assets the hotel has. Great breakfast and an impressive bar.
The only criticism I have, but it's not really one, is that I prefer a cooler room. And that's just personal preference, and I could open a window anyway.
Warm and friendly. Comfortable room with everything we needed for our overnight stay. A great breakfast with plenty of choice. Plenty of parking spaces.
Staff were fantastic Food was amazing and good value Facilities were brilliant
Rooms were a bit dated
Bed was very comfortable, room was quiet & I thought it was excellent value for money.
We are regular visitors to Millfields and we were booked into the four poster room, it is so beautiful and we would like to say a massive thank you for our stay.
There is absolutely nothing I would change at this beautiful hotel.
Staff were very friendly and room clean and comfortable.
A few superficial issues with the room and a little noisy from street and our room's location
Breakfasts and Dinners were good. Room was very good. Very clean and room service was excellent. Staff was very helpful and engaging. Shout out to Tracey!
Nothing comes to mind.
Lovely friendly hotel. Staff were excellent.
Location to family. Comfortable bar area and restaurant.
Excellent helpful friendly staff. Clean and ideal location
Breakfast was fabulous. The staff were absolutely amazing so warm, welcoming and friendly
Rooms a little tired but had everything we needed
Nothing really, a bit third world. Desperately in need of updating. Shocking for the price. This grand old building looks inviting from outside and is in an easily accessible location just outside of Grimsby town centre on a main drag. We have stayed in this hotel several times over the past twenty years and have seen a steady decline. The front of house is deceptive, having a nice bright bar and restaurant area but our personal experience was far short of good. This will undoubtably be our last stay in this establishment. I have just had another look at the rooms images on the website and none of these are anything like our room. All of those pic are of nice looking clean and bright rooms of which none have a melamine piece acting as a bedside shelf. We paid £81 for ours and it was so below par.
Room was dingy back of house and not very clean, accessed by a passageway past squash courts. Behind the large radiator was a thick blanket of dust and debris. Wash basin didn't run away until someone came to sort it out and the shower was over a bath that filled up with water as you showered. Every footstep from the above room could be heard through the ceiling, luckily that guest was relatively quiet and retired to bed early. Bathroom toiletries consisted of a bottle of hand wash and a bottle of shower gel. The room had a fridge but not even a small complimentary bottle of drinking water. Wifi although free was very sketchy at best, probably because of the distance from the router. Bedside were two small melamine shelves that were loose and sloping away from the wall which made standing a cup of coffee or anything else for that matter dubious. As a couple we have stayed in many hotels over the last twenty years, some bad some good and some amazing. Millfields struggles to make 3 stars, saved only by the front of house.
The staff were really great, bar area was great , cocktails were great!
It was generally run down, carpets very dirty, fairly old fashioned and difficult to navigate with big areas and lots of stairs between rooms
Lovely location, lovely staff, relaxing bar, clean room and great shower.
Everything was good but the decor was a little tired looking
I had a lovely time there! The hotel is very comfortable and clean. People there were super nice to me
Attractive entrance to hotel, helpful, professional reception staff. Adequate facilities in room, bed very comfortable.
Noise from other rooms till midnight
