    Pros +

    • Beautiful and updated cottage. Front garden and back garden. Great and comfy decor and beds. Sorry we couldn¿t stay longer. Everything marked clearly. Clean and lovely!
    • Beautiful pub, delicious restaurant in the quaint village of Scalby.
    • The room is lovely, spacious and clean with an awesome shower and great service. Our meal in the restaurant was one of the best meals we have had on our travels over 16 weeks.

    Cons -

    • Door locked upon arrival. Sign wasn¿t clear about ringing the bell. It stated ¿after hours¿
    • Room was in the attic with a small high window, I would have preferred a larger window.
    • Bed was very comfy, pillows not firm enough would have preferred a king size bed rather than double. Not great parking.

Good food, lovely room. Really enjoyed the place and would stay again.

Roll top bath - needs cleaning underneath. Leaking shower and cold tap. Needs tightening.

    10VickyPosted on: 4-14-2025

The room was well appointed .The water in the ensuite was hot and pressure was good..Although our room faced the road the area was quiet at night.A small excellent range of food and a variety of drinks were available..

    Lovely room. Great shower.

Access to stairs, poorly lit for an old codger. Couldn’t make out keypad.

Received an upgrade from a room in the plough to one of their houses which was located across the road and can only describe 38a as outstanding we had a fantastic stay and will look to stay again.

We loved everything. The house as perfect, the Plough was amazing for dinner and the Yew Tree served the loveliest breakfast. Great walk along the Cinderella tracks Sunday morning!

The property itself was absolutely beautiful however we had no heating or hot water for 3 hours, my partner had to call the hotel twice to sort it, unfortunately this really let our stay down… no apology or gesture offered

We enjoyed a comfortable, quiet and clean room. Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious and the staff all very helpful.

A well lit mirror would be appreciated.

    10JamiePosted on: 4-1-2025

We love it here it was our second stay and this time we had the Sunday dinner from the restaurant as y was wonderfully cooked. The only which wasn’t really a problem but there were no large towels in the Cottage to use. Other than that our stay was perfect. Thanks again for another lovely stay, we will book again soon.

Breakfast and room good but some of our party were not happy with their main course of the evening meal.

We did not like that there was NO soap in the bathroom to use after using the toilet, we reported it but still no soap appeared!! There was an intrusive humming noise all through the night we think was from a generator

    9RichardPosted on: 3-31-2025

    Location, nice place, nice food

Mattress was a little tired & pillows too soft

    10RobertPosted on: 3-30-2025
