Wouldn't stay again
The room was dirty, and the carpet was ripped nr the bedThe little shampoo n conditioner was half empty should have had new ones Mold in the shower
Sea view room on the 3rd floor, small but comfortable, small double bed but OK for an overnight stay, great shower and overall good for the price we paid.
Over priced breakfast.
The property was lovely and in a great location our room was on the top floor with lovely see views staff were very friendly would definitely stay again I man the summer months
Our room was very cold as the radiator wasn’t working the lady who came to have a look was very lovely and apologised about it and reported it for next customers it hasn’t put us off staying in this lovely hotel though will definitely come back
Th staff and location
The rooms need a bit of an update. Didn’t feel the cleanest. Door handles dropping off and curtains hanging iff and mould in bathroom. Bad odor in the hallway near the communal toilet / outside our room.
We loved the seafront location and look of the hotel on arrival. Our room was upgraded on arrival and was huge with a four poster bed & seaview. We had our 2 small dogs with us and the staff were great with them. The food was excellent during our stay. Our room had a great view of the castle which was so close and a great visit.
Friendly hotel.Convienient location.Easy parking with permit.
Close to seafront, room was clean except shower
When arriving in the room we noticed how cold is was, then noticed the window handle and safety latch was snapped off so the window could not be closed. I popped to reception to ask for a heater, unfortunately I was told they don't have any. I said the window was broken and was met with the member of staff rolling his eyes and not helping me at all. We had to go to a shop and purchase a heater & blankets ourselves costing over £25. However the morning staff did apologie to us when we were checking out and stated we should of been provided with a new room. There was also no hot water in our room. I understand its a basic room, however I expect heat and hot water as a minimum. The shower had hair in it from the previous tenant. Restaurant is expensive and portions are small. Also very hard to find parking, despite the reservation stating free parking avaliable.
Close to amenities…lovely friendly staff…clean and comfortable…good value for money.
Bedroom furniture a bit tired
It was lovely to go to an hotel and feel so comfortable and welcomed from the minute you step foot in the door . Every staff member was helpful, polite and nothing was too much!! A calm, chilled & relaxed atmosphere that you felt safe to be in which is great for anyone but especially when you’re a solo traveler. The food well…. WHAT A CHEF honestly it was all AMAZING!! I didn’t expect it not to be but i if I did have any expectations it definitely exceeded any iI could have had! It was up there with 5 star Michelin restaurants & that’s presentation which can make any meal look like it’s going to taste amazing obviously… but well WOW is all I need to say !! That was one of best meals I’ve had & I’ve just had 27 days Of eating all my meals in 3 different 5* Michelin restaurants in an hotel in Tenerife & they wasn’t half as nice! Honestly will not only leave you in a food comer after
Not one thing I found disappointing!!
Almost nothing apart from the check-in. Nice location. Promised a lot but unfortunately did not deliver.
To be clear, this was a 'budget' room at £37. But all the pre-arrival communication and the 4 star rating (on Booking.com) raised expectations. The shower did not work properly; hot water came out in a trickle. The basin was slow to drain and there was a smell normally associated with blocked sinks. The blind on the roof window would not stay down and shot open. Reported the shower to reception, but made it clear that I was too tired after a day of walking in persistent rain to pursue it just for one night. Had diarrhoea in the night after having a seafood chowder with mussels in shells in the restaurant. Was overcharged for the drinks on the evening meal, which took two goes to get right. The radiator wasn't very hot despite being on full, so drying wet clothes was difficult. I know it was a budget room, but the YHA in Whitby was a similar price and did a lot better. When a hotel is rated 4 stars on Booking.com one does expect the basics to Just Work.
Friendly staff, lovley room and bar area! We will be back x
Very clean the sea view was spot on
Room Could do with new bed
All the staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The resturant area was lovely. Great views.
The lift was small and very old. However, most of the hotel looked like it was newly refurbished so it maybe is going to be replaced. It did work ok apart from once when it wouldn't start. I was fine for us as we have no issues with stairs.
Helpful staff, great location, bargain for the rooms. Parking pass provided for a couple of days.
Myself and my wife having been coming to the delmont for many years and as Harry goes into retirement his son and his wife have taken the Rains and are lovely people and also excellent front of house keep being nice guys well done
