OYO The Townhouse is set in a Grade II-Listed Georgian town house, offering individually themed rooms in Durham’s charming Old Elvet area. Durham Cathedral and the 11th-century castle are within 10 minutes' walk. Tastefully designed interiors feature in all rooms, placed in either the 18th-century town house, garden or main house. The banks of the River Wear and Durham University Cricket Club are 492 feet away. Durham Rail Station is less than 1-mile from the property and Newcastle city center can be reached after a 15-minute train journey.

- Loved the location. And the room was gorgeous.
- Fabulous location and genuinely friendly and helpful staff.
Cons -
- Our room felt unclean, sheets were left hanging on the bathroom door, and the carpet looked dirty. The sheets were not creased, and the windows wouldn't open. The room was small, as was the bed, which had a soft, spongy mattress.
- We did explain when we went down for breakfast that there was no hot water so couldn't shower or bath which was upsetting as it is quite expensive to stay here and choose the room because of the bath. They did inform us that there was a gas leak which was out of their control. It just would have been nice to have have had a bath.
- Didnt like the full length mirror facing the toilet!
