    Pros +

    • Room was plain but comfortable and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Ample car parking.
    • Generally found staff very good matured and versatile to your every need.Highly recommend
    • The room was dated. Mould and damp patches on the ceiling, furniture which was straight out of the 1980'sOnly 1 towel given so the bathroom floor got soaked while in the shower. No soap in the bathroom for hand washing.Shower was barely warm even tho on full.Light mirrors in the bathroom did not work.No where to hang any clothes.WIFI was so poor, i had to disconnect to be able to use my phone. No snacks available to buy at the bar.No food available to buy in the restaurantThe bar area was freezing cold. 2 TV remotes in my room yet neither of them worked.Even tho it was non smoking, my room had clearly had a smoker in there.Hallway was dirty and dated.Looks like nothing had been painted or cleaned professionally for yearsReading some of the other reviews (yes i should have done that before i stayed) shows plenty have the same issues i have written yet they still have not changed anything which shows they dont care which is clear to see by the decor of the place. You would be better off paying a few quid more and getting a Premier inn or Holiday inn as they at least look like they were cleaned this century.

    Cons -

    • Swipe card on room door tricky to use on first attempt. (Easy enough once you'd got the hang of it). Would have liked to option of a full breakfast.
    • No indication as to check out time.Coffee to wake up and shower was powerfully good ?
    • All of the above.Felt like i was in a hotel from the 1970's/80's

    Clean towels provided.

Absolutely filthy floor. Couldn't walk from the bed to the bathroom without soles becoming black with dirt.No soap provided in the bathroom.Smelly gurgling toilet (even when not in use).Very hard, creaky, uncomfortable bed.

The hotel was situated in just the right place for our visit. It was just at the top of the street where our son and family live. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is also a nice walk into Wallsall, along with very cheap trains into Birmingham. The Black Country Museum is also close by. The food from the restaurant is very good and provides a good choice

This hotel could do with a visit from the Hotel Inspector. The bathroom tap moved round when turned on. The pillows have seen better day's. The handle were missing from the wardrobe and one drawer. It would be 10 out of 10, if these sort of issues were sorted.

Last time I stayed, I didn’t enjoy through other guests knocking and trying my door. I tried this hotel again thinking the worst, but I had a completely different experience this time. The room was lovely and cosy, the staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a very enjoyable stay.

There was only one bedside table.

Not clean, bad smells from the room, the staff on the reception were ok, some of them were rude and not welcoming

Spacious room, comfy bed, large bath.

As usual the wi-fi was fine until about 6pm and then was unavailable all night and next morning. :(

Beautiful place and staff were polite and helpful

The bathroom was pretty dirty. One bed had what looked like dried crushed mud in it and we found a credit card that was from a man who had been in the room thr night before. Was the room cleaned properly before we got there? It was under the sofa by the window in the room. The bathroom sink was broken colour stained and the bath wasn't much better

Location was great and bathroom was so cool. I also liked the size and space of the room.

I didn't like the heating since the room was cold and shower too was cold — poor heating!!!

Excellent staff who were very helpful when I needed to contact the RAC.Spacious room, comfortable bed, nice bath.WFI seemed a bit more reliable than on previous visits.

Hotel needs a lot of refurbishment. It is looking very tired.

I would only stay here if it was the last option or I got kicked out terrible place.

Cold no hand wash just some stiff towels.

Location was close to the Arboretum.Plenty of free parking to the front.

Arrived at 710pm and when asked about food was told the kitchen closes at 730pm. Were told that we could order in via just eat.Paid £153 for 2 nights for a double room similar to those shown on booking.com were given a family room at the side of the building that was white walls and no decorations. Was hoping for something more, and felt that perhaps a Travelodge would have been a warmer atmosphere.

Clean and tidy modern look in the dining area and bar

Little bit dated upstairs towards the hotel rooms could do with modernising but otherwise fair . A little bit busy traffic et cetera, as we were at the front of the building.
