    Pros +

    • Situation, ambience. Facilities, qualities of bedding/pillows, furnishings and little extras.
    • Loved the location, the room was exceptional, bed as comfy as they get. Minimal road noise. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again, cooked veg breakfast option wasn't great but english breakfast was on point.
    • The hotel is lovely, staff are amazing, so friendly and attentive. Room was spotless, bathroom spacious and well designed. Underfloor heating in the bathroom was an extra bonus. Breakfast was great, many options and they were happy to accommodate my GF needs.

    Cons -

    • Our room was cold. We assumed that settings for heating would come on automatically. They didn’t. Waking at 2 am with cold we tried to get some heat. There were two wall programmers with no indication as to what they were for on two opposing walls. No instructions anywhere in the room. After wrestling with both wall fixtures one of which took several presses to even produce a light up, we retired to bed hoping we’d solved the problem. Bathroom had no heating in the morning and room was warmer but not warm. Never even had a shower the bathroom was unheated. It would be great if we had had situation as to different heating systems explained to us when we were taken to the room. Or if instruction booklet had been included in promotion al blurb. Did mention to receptionist the next morning and this was our only gripe about the hotel. Everything else was excellent.
    • Breakfast veg options could have been better.
    • The room type name on booking.com is misleading - room was called King, but the bed was only a double. This was a bit unexpected especially with my husband being 6'4. This was the only downside of our stay.

The property is stunning and in a perfect location. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. The room was beautiful, well equipped and spotless. Most comfortable bed. Will definitely be back.

Only had a light breakfast but the staff were friendly

No option for any food after a long 4 hour journey, so we had to go out again to eat.

Lovely place, exceeded our expectations for a last minute booking. High quality interior, friendly, professional staff and excellent food in the restaurant.

    10HadfieldPosted on: 1-18-2026

Every member of staff was exceptionally brilliant, polite & professional. Check in was done swiftly and I was shown to my gorgeous room.Amenities were in abundance, fresh water, coffee machine, tea & biscuits, gorgeous homemade little treats and a personalised message. The bathroom was kitted out with everything you would need to the highest standard. Manor House is a must! We will definitely return soon. Room 9 Jan 17

    Everything was perfect

    Clean, good quality, high end

Restaurant is not open on Monday or Tuesday- this is a big problem for a business traveler. Even a skeletal service would be appreciated

    10JoPosted on: 1-6-2026

Absolutely gorgeous stay. Apartment was stunning. Bar/drinks/cafe were lush and the staff were amazing.

    No complaints

I’ve been here several times for lunch and also breakfast. So managed to have a night here as I was out with family the night before. Super room, great ambience for drinks and had a really enjoyable stay.

There was nothing to dislike about the property and the experience

    7AmandaPosted on: 12-17-2025

Friendly staff, comfy bed and pillows, coffee machine appreciated. Shower powerful and hot each day and water drained away well. Good quality food at breakfast. Useful fridge and safe. Car parking on site

Bathroom was always cold - no visible switch for underfloor heating or towel warmer for towels and robes (fully tiled floor and walls). Nothing relating to bathroom temperature controls within the information booklet. TV really needs to be smart enough to be able to connect to customers apps with power socket close by. Very awkward to use light switches when in bed due to large lamp and positioning of the switches in relation to sitting in the bed. Although the room was fine, some of the corridors had "a strange smell to them" - including the stairway. Couldn't pin point what it was but similar to a mixture of dampness possibly mixed with perfumed reed diffusers??

Rooms were lovely and individual. Staff were brilliant. You must have breakfast there, especially the bacon.

    5ShirleyPosted on: 12-13-2025

    Lovely cosy room

not sure the price is warranted. No slippers or gowns. No breakfast and seems to be double the price just tonight? Why?

    7BrucePosted on: 12-8-2025

The building was stunning and the staff were wonderful

The wildebeest herd that kept coming by our room throughout the early hours disturbing our sleep!

    9JohnPosted on: 12-6-2025

Very comfortable. Large room and modern well equipped bathroom. Food in the restaurant and at breakfast were both excellent. All staff were very welcoming and helpful.

    10RusselPosted on: 12-5-2025

The attention to detail was fantastic! As an independently run little hotel this place has tried to think of everything. They have come very close. It looks fantastic but also the staff all clearly are trained to make the guests feel as welcome as possible. Superb from start to finish.

    Nothing. Everything was excellent.

Lovely hotel with fantastic decor. Such a shame the restaurant did not open due to lack of bookings.

    Restaurant closed

Interior, staff, breakfast and location great

Horrible smell in fridge / wardrobe area.Loud music until early hours kept us awake. Also need to update the televisions in the room.

    10PaulPosted on: 11-21-2025

Great location, excellent food, friendly staff

    10RichardPosted on: 11-13-2025

All round excellent stay. All staff were warm and helpful. The whole place is spotlessly clean, and my room was immaculate, with a comfortable bed. Food here was very good too. (Both dinner and breakfast) I would recommend this place to anyone.

    Really couldn't fault anything!
