    • excellent in every way
    • Nothing, I was forced to cancel

    Cons -

    • It?s not 3 star in my opinion! There was no iron facility! It hadn?t been hoovered! The room hadn?t been cleaned. The shower gel was one tiny capsule. All very basic & not 3 star nor worth the cost I was charged.
    • bed is comfortable

Nothing, I was forced to cancel

On arrival I was immediately told that I needed to pay for parking despite booking, com advertising free parking. Then I was not allowed to enter until I had made a direct bank transfer (NOT a credit card) of £200 - I doubt too many Americans can do that very easily. As soon as I checked with booking.com they told me NOT to pay amounts not included and NOT to pay anything direct to the hotel. I had to cancel the stay but it was charged to my debit card anyway. I was then harrassed to remove my car from the parking space near the door (the one I wasn't allowed through). I then booked another hotel, but after paying, the bookin.com app said there was no availability - I had that amount refunded. At that last minute I found excellent accommodation with polite people who actually allowed me in and did everything they promised an more! AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE THE PLAQUE - IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM WITH VERY RUDE STAFF WHO REFUSE TO ALLOW YOU IN TO ARRANGE TO STAY. THAT IS VERY WEIRD AND VERY DISRUPTIVE WHEN YOU ARE IN TOWN AND DESPITE RESERVING IN ADVANCE HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE LATE IN THE DAY.

They make up lies to gain extra money.

They made me pay £200 security deposit before arrival. They havecsaid we are not getting the £200 due to damage to a shower. This is completely fake as the shower was already broken. In addition to this we had no hot water. Very dirty in dll 4 rooms. 1 of the rooms had pubeic hair all over the bath. One room had yellow marks on the sheets. Worst place I've even started with. Please look into this.

We have never been to huddersfield, and myself and friends came for a teachers' conference at the University of Huddersfield. We booked this stay as it was central huddersfield close to everything and within walking distance. The staff at HuddersfieldCentral Lodge, specifically Holly, was very welcoming, supported us with everything we needed, and responded promptly when needed. The room was lovely, so much value for money, very clean. We loved our stay. Thank you so much for accommodating the 3 of us. :)

    There were no issues

    Very good location and access

Neighbours were noisy, walls were paper thin. It was advertised that the room had a microwave and iron included. There were none. The price was too expensive for the amenities available.

Decent sized room with good wardrobe space but definitely needs more hangers for 2ppl stayFluffy pillows I always bring orthopaedic one from home anywayMood lighting good for night time reading although dimmers are to be considered i hearShowers hot and powered well This time we got last room so will book in advance for our summer stay. and reception man said would be cheaper than booking on the day.

This is a lovely hotel, excellently placed close to the university, shops, bus and rail stations. It was very nicely decorated and extremely clean. We look forward to returning again to experience the opening of the new cafe, breakfast & desert lounge featuring a dining area & conservatory ?

    There wasn't anything.

Comfortable and clean bedGood size of the roomPleasant receptionist (all check in done via phone remotely...)

Unreasonably early check out - 10am! (Anything later, you will be charged...)£200 deposit paid to bank account (not even preauthorisation)Should be cheaper for the standardI asked for a slightly earlier check in (was told I would have to confirm straight away and then even if I arrived on regular check in time I would still be charged for it from the deposit lol...)No hot water in shower after midnight. My husband then had no water in shower at all!Heating in the bathroom was not working

The food courts were super close for meals and breakfast, just walked there… Close to University and Laurence batley theatre for our show. Area okay.

Both the accessible bays were taken but was able to park across two so crisis averted!

There was great communication with the staff. The Hotel is well situated and handy for a 5 minute walk into town, or ten minutes to the nearest supermarket. The room was large with great facilities. Would stay again. Thank you.

Remote check-in very efficient. Staff easy to contact by text and phone. The smart TV was a nice bonus. The shower worked very well, something I'm really fussy about.Very high standard of cleanliness. I would happily recommend it to my friends. Very convenient for the town centre but quiet and peaceful.

    10MadihaPosted on: 3-24-2025

Sleek checking in system with no queues Parking was so secure and accessible for me at silly hours tooManaged to nab early check in at a small cost but suited me so I could get on with duties

Hot water was too hot. There are signs saying caution hot water. Its okay in the bath as there is a mixer tap. But very hot in the sink basin where both taps are separated. Otherwise all fab.

Holly the virtual receptionist was helpful

Arrived at the property temperature was 3 degrees no heating. Phoned Holly who tried to help and phoned maintenance who said it automatically kucked in and out. Well it hadnt kicked in for several hours. I said i couldnt take the chance of coming back and the heating wasnt on. So left the key back in the box and Holly said she would submit my request for a refund as i had to find alternative accomodation at short notice. Huddersfield Central cancelked my booking without a refund for a NO SHOW. evidently i was there as i got in the room and have the texts between myself and Holly. In 22 years of using Booking.com i have never encountered a situation like this so all i can say is be wary before you book this place especially if the weather is cold.
