    Pros +

    • Clean, friendly staff, good location, great breakfast, evening food good (although very very slow)
    • Courteous fornt desk and staff.
    • Spa was good and the location is very convenient to motorway

    Cons -

    • Was not given free WiFi code upon checking in. Dinner was painfully slow (was in the restaurant for 1.5hrs on the night of the 19th August with only two staff appearing to be on duty in the restaurant). Banged head on ledge over sink twice due to height of fascia.
    • Spa facilites as standard are basic, use of pool, pool side sauna. Wanted to use hottub but would have cost me an extra £30.00 (does include all other services but that was all I wanted to use. Would have preferred a rate that included all facitlites
    • Restaurant has gone downhill a lot since my early days staying here. They changed the menu when I was here and the new menu is pretty awful. They were also doing work on the hotel and changed my room 3 times, but none of the rooms were away from the workers. I was woken up on the Monday morning by workmen demolishing fittings in rooms around me. The desk said I should have been moved the day before, but I was in the hotel all day (and had booked the restaurant for a Sunday dinner), and they hadn't contacted me.

Location to a wedding venue we were at

The room obviously hadn't been cleaned, there was staple pee in the toilet. We were moved , so ok.We were rung just after leaving, saying we'd dropped the key off but not paid. The lady was insistent and asked me to check my bank account which I couldn't do because I was driving. She later rang and said, oh yes you were right it was paid !!!

Plenty of parking. Very attentive and friendly staff.Good breakfast although tea and coffee not the best - which was surprising as the cappuccino I paid for at the bar was excellent

There are extra charges to use some of the facilities. Basic fee only allows to use the pool, gym and sauna.

The Hotel was ok in terms of nothing I would fault but I would not say special in any way compared to others I have stayed at a similar price.

Staff friendliness and helpfulness was mixed which can make not particularly a warming or hospitable experience. In terms of value terms not great as I have stayed at much better standard of hotel with breakfast.

    5NataliePosted on: 6-4-2025

The pool and sauna were nice amenities, although it would have been nicer to have access to a hot tub without an extra fee. The dinner was good but a bit pricey.

Maybe it was the room we booked, but it was very old and outdated. The main areas of the hotel seemed more modern whereas the room looked as if it had not been updated in over 20 years. There were also a few stairs to access the lift which is quite impractical, especially for those with lots of luggage or mobility issues. The TV was basic and had no capability to stream or cast. The breakfast buffet was just so/so. This property is really talked up and is not as nice as they make it seem.

The staff were exceptional , very pleasant and courteous. The restaurant food was also excellent, breakfasts and an evening meal spot on.

Shower in the bath....prefer a walk in shower....apart from that perfect stay.

Great location, nice bar, friendly staff and very clean.

Room and bathroom were dark and dated.

    1MartinPosted on: 4-3-2025

    Very dirty and over priced!

The bathroom was really dirty. Black mould at the base of the shower screen, very grubby stained floor. Tile grout dirty. Light pull cord filthy and where previously broken knotted not replaced. Lots of dirt behind basin tap. Bed squeaked really badly every time you moved on it. Ingrained dust on furniture. Blinds and window bottoms dusty. TV controller partially covered with food. Poor lighting. No curtains on huge windows, only venetian blinds, letting light in.

Place was lovely, staff were so friendly and helpful..

Very outdated.. any movement in the hallway or just walking around the hotel room the room door would rattle like someone was trying to get in.. run a bath and all dirt came out of the taps..

The surroundings are lovely Bar and restaurant is very nice

The corridors to the rooms feel very dated

    10SarahPosted on: 3-9-2025

Breakfast was lovely room were clean facilities were amazing

    7NeilPosted on: 3-9-2025

Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Nice pool and sauna. Pleasant staff. Plenty car parking. Handy location just off motorway.

Lack of poolside seats. Lukewarm buffet breakfast and cold plates. Slowest toaster on the planet. Dirty restaurant floor. 'Suspicious' stains on worn corridor carpets. Staff wheeling noisy bins past bedroom window. No draught cider in bar.

    5JamesPosted on: 3-5-2025

    Room was alright nothing special

Price for just the room no use of facilities included with the price everything is optional extras at a premium

    4MartinPosted on: 2-27-2025

Rooms very dated and needs refurbishing, general tidy up needed and larger tv. No vegetarian breakfast options

    3BPosted on: 2-24-2025

    Poor

The advert says you have full use of spa facilities, but you only have use to the swimming pool and sauna. The spa you have to pay extra for.
