Pros +
- Lovely room, comfortable bed, clean, friendly staff, good location and quiet
- Was lovely. Staff were helpful. We had an issue with our room, and upgraded to a suite. Couldn't have asked for more.
- The location was great. Staff on reception were very helpful. Room was clean
Cons -
- Could have done with a mirror in the room, but not a big issue.
- Images are deceiving. The rooms are smaller and don’t have the amenities listed. Our tv didn’t work. The bed is tiny so we didn’t sleep well at all as there was no room. Was told there would be lots of gluten free breakfast options but there was not. I was offered eggs with no facilities to make any toast to go with 2 eggs. You get one small cup of tea, not even a teapot at breakfast. They take a 50 pound deposit on arrival even if you’ve already paid in advance which is not in any small print that I could see pre booking. It is refunded within 48 hours if you don’t use the mini fridge facilities in the room but not ideal if you were budgeting on a trip so beware.
- The windows were so high we couldn't see out meaning it felt very claustrophobic. The bathroom was very small - not much space to manoeuvre from the loo to the sink! Barely enough toilet paper provided for one night. Breakfast was awful. I had poached egg on avocado toast which was stone cold when served.

The room was warm and clean.

Clean, comfortable room and very welcoming staff. They were a real help and genuinely saved me after a difficult evening.
Nothing in particular.
Check in was efficient, although I was a little thrown by the pre-authorisation deposit for the mini-bar in my room (perhaps I didn't read the small print) and the need for a physical card for this. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space and storeage for a short stay.
There was a hole on the inside of the bathroom door which had been left after the door had been rehung. There were various scuffs on the paintwork in my room and I found the decor throughout the hotel dark and gloomy, especially when I returned after an evening out. Breakfast was disappointing, the front of house staff member was in the kitchen more than he was front of house, and there was no means of requesting service, which meant I only had one cup of coffee and no toast to accompany my full breakfast.
Very clean
Car park around the hotel very tight for large cars. Rooms could do with a touch up with paint. 98% out of 100% satisfied
Great room. Very clean, warm. Shower was great. Staff very polite and helpful. Probably one of the best stays I've been on.
All good
Location and decor.
The sheets on the bed smelt dusty, the towels were like sandpaper and the receptionist wouldn't allow us another glass for our room. Someone in the hotel had a couple of joints too, so the place stunk of weed.
Extremely clean spacious room to...
The room was nice and big but definitely not a big double bed or queen room. You could have fit another three beds in it plus the dressing room not. Waist of space
Lovely rooms, great value for money.
Nothing with the hotel, just other guests in the corridors at 0400 shouting.
Room cleanliness location
1 cup for coffee in a room for 2 people and breakfast not up to standard of rest of hotel
The staff are friendly and polite and the breakfast was great!
The beds are not double , it’s 3/4, chipped paint on the walls, they only have 6 car park spaces that are free or you have to use the car park and paid, the lift needs a huge upgrade.
Very unprofessional they left lots drink in the fridge And when you come down in the morning you have to pay for it without information

Was close to the wedding venue
Wasn’t very clean, fridge was loud, couldn’t sleep all night. Not worth the price
Location was a short walk to the town centre and other local sites and amenities. Pleasant and stylish reception. Nice monogrammed towels, dressing gown etc. Bed was wonderfully crisp, clean and comfortable. Good quality toiletries. Next to a nice pub. Lift to all floors. Let us leave our bags.
Made us wait every minute until 3pm to get to our rooms. Time stated was 3pm, but they said they were short of housekeeping staff. My room (301) was right next to the lift which is very noisy when in use. Great big juddering bang when it reaches GF. 2 of our rooms had a very noisy fridges housing refreshments. No natural light in my room with one tiny high up window. Other room had 2 even smaller high up windows with no natural light. Room very warm even with radiator off but they did have a pedestal fan which was too noisy to sleep with. Shower tray was dangerously slippery with no shower mat. Nowhere to put shower toiletries as shower shelf was broken. Basin filled up with water and didn't drain with tap on full. Dents scrapes and holes in the room walls. Room felt claustrophobic. Breakfast was chaotic as it appeared one person was serving, taking orders AND cooking. Gave up waiting for a cooked breakfast. Call themselves a 'boutique hotel'...but monogrammed items, some posh toiletries and some sweets on the reception desk don't really make it that IMO. Didn't warrant the £92.00 a night in our opinion, and it seems they don't employ enough staff to cover Sunday mornings.Took £50 deposit to cover any irregularities with mini-bar with no alcohol. Previous reviews suggest it takes a while to be returned...so be sure to check....we will. A lot of the negatives we found were mentioned in historical reviews, which suggests they are not acting on complaints. A bit of maintenance and a wash and brush up and a look at staffing levels would make a world of difference. You get a welcoming letter - when I got home I found that it also had a survey form with it. Hopefully they might take a bit more notice of this than the Booking.com reviews.
Comfortable reasonably priced hotel convenient for university campus and for station. Modern, tasteful decor. Friendly staff.
Would have preferred curtains rather than blind over bedroom window. USB charging sockets were dummies so couldn't charge phone. Nearby construction makes access less attractive.
Nice décor comfortable bed, the blinds let enough light through see at night, a good shower and supplies & towels
Noisy fridge turning on & off all night.
Lovely breakfast room with a great selection of food. Very enjoyable breakfast, and quiet room. Comfy bed.
The hotel is a little tired but has everything needed for a one night say.
Central to where we needed to be.
The only thing I can think of is the deposit of £50 and having to wait to get the money refunded.
