Pros +
- Room comfortable. Staff helpful and cheery
- I liked the room itself, clean and spacious.
- The building is unique because it has fun decorations. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We had a lot of luggage but there was room for most everything. My husband really liked the large rainfall shower. The breakfast choices and the food were very good. We also had dinner; the fish and chips were yummy. I even liked the peas!
Cons -
- somewhere to hang towels. No need to change them every day. Think of the planet
- My lamb burger was really nice but the pizza was not fresh, expected more from a 5 star hotel.
- I booked through Hotels.com. I thought that I had selected a room and rate that came with free cancellation and free breakfasts. The Hotels.com receipt didn’t show breakfast but I thought it was just an error. I got the impression from your staff that breakfast was included in the restaurant the 1st day. The second day there seemed to be a question about it. When we received the bill at checkout it included the price of the breakfasts. I don’t know if the mistake was from Hotels.com or your hotel. The hotel receptionist deleted the cost of 1 of the 3 breakfasts. I would recommend booking the hotel directly so there is no misunderstanding. This was disappointing.

Great room and great location
Not a lot of choice on dinner menu
Lovely staff and the food was excellent
The room had to be re cleaned
The hotel was really nice, woodland park surroundings, 10 minute walk to the village centre. staff were brilliant, really welcoming and nothing too much trouble,
Quite poorly lit at night, very Limited parking an issue, I was lucky to get a space, but only about 10 spaces for the whole hotel, only option is a pay and display, disappointing as it is far from a budget hotel
The property is within a lovely park area with a children's park and plenty of short walks and runs aground
Saw this on Mr and Mrs Smith but didn't meet their normal standard
Lack of parking provision. Restaurant menu tried really hard but execution and dishes were a bit disjointed. Hosting party on same night and enternaintment hosts/dancers were running through restaurant to access their green room. Had to ask for dressing gown and slippers and only 1 bought up felt like they were trying to scrimp and room wasnt made up for us during our stay
Nice hotel in terms of look and room was nice.
There was very little parking for the number rooms/guest despite parking being advertised. We traveled for the marathon and needed to get a good night sleep but there was a very loud party and we could hear the music until midnight. When mentioned to the staff, they were very unhelpful. The staff were generally not very helpful for the whole trip when it came to parking, eating or the noise.
Lovely old building in wonderful grounds and very tastefully restored inside
Lovely building set in a park. Very comfortable bed. Nice bar and breakfast room
Great location in park, peaceful surroundings for walking and exploring. Liked the quirkiness of the decor in the old manor style building. Room was large and the hotel had all the facilities needed for our stay
Booking.com website caused an error when booking was made for stay at this hotel. They refused to resolve it with the hotel, I.e Booking.com processed the booking as sole occupancy when travel booked was as a couple. Mysteriously a few days before travel Booking.com email identified booking had changed to 1 adult and 1 child. Disappointed Booking.com allowed these 2 errors to occur and continue to escalate right through to travel date. I contacted Oddfellows directly and they kindly rectified the occupancy issue for arrival . However, as the Booking.com original booking was for as single occupancy and they did nothing to resolve this occupancy issue from their side, this resulted in having to pay an additional £36 for spouses breakfasts when this cost was actually in the advertised price on their booking engine. Disappointing unresolved issue with Booking.com.
Beautiful place, surrounded by lovely grounds, very quiet
The sink was blocked, sorted quickly. Water left in coffee machine...had to give it a good clean as bacteria had started to grow. Legionella can be caught by stagnant water, although I'm a safety officer and know the risk, this could have been used by someone who didn't know.
It's quirky, the staff are very helpful, the property itself is in a lovely position in a park
Staff were very accommodating to our needs pre visit and throughout our stay. Everyone was so friendly and chatted to us. Room was lovely and great location.
Liked everything
Gorgeous building and rooms. Location fantastic. Parking easy and close.
No nothing
Noise levels can hear while in room no sound proofing, 40 plus steps to room no lift access for luggage
From the moment we arrived, the staff were superb. Striking the perfect balance between friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant and bar were both great and the room was extremely spacious and comfortable.
Only downside was the lack of a lift (perfectly understandable in a magnificent old building), so anyone with mobility issues would be advised to request a ground floor room, and the lack of a door on the bathroom (albeit there were frosted glass doors to the toilet and shower. Not sure if this is the same in all rooms.
Very good freshly cooked breakfastGreat view from the bedroomStaff were extremely helpful and very niceA short drive away from Bramall Hall & Park which is worth a visit. Also drove to Chester Zoo comfortably from this accommodation.
This is the 3rd time I visit this facility. I traveled for Work Purposes, but it was nice to feel even a bit on vacation whilst coming to Manchester for work. The location is wonderful, a nice break from the urban surroundings. The facility is gorgeous and the services as well. The breakfast is excellent and gives a relaxing start of the day. Manchester has now become one of my favourite destinations to work in.
In all honesty, not a lot. Maybe the parking allowance is not very good for the hotel capacity, but there is a (paid) parking nearby.
