Sunley Hotel

Really good value for money, close to location we needed with nearby free parking when staying at the hotel. Room was spacious and had everything needed for a comfortable overnight stay. Really close to a small Morrisons to pick up snacks.

Nothing - for the price paid and convenience it was perfect.

For us, attending a function at the Waterside bar, the location was good. The room, for its type, was spacious and sufficiently well appointed. Decent toiletries (even body lotion that our 5* yacht cruise failed to deliver!). Standard coffee & tea plus biscuits and a couple of bottle of water; no glasses though. It was very quiet which was odd on a uni campus but very much appreciated. The whole establishment, maybe as it’s new and possibly underused, was very clean.

Really awkward to get the kettle under the tap to fill!The bed was a bit too hard for my liking (not premier inn quality) and I didn’t like the pillows, but that’s a personal thing. No blinds/nets at the windows so the curtains got closed a bit early. I think we may have been the only guests so it was a bit weird. One member of staff to check us in but nobody around when we left. No idea what we’d have done if we’d had a problem?A soft close loo seat would be a nice addition!

Excellent location. We often stay whilst visiting our daughter at the university. 20 min walk into town. Up hill. Free parking.

The shower water would not drain away so it rose to your ankles whilst in use. If we were staying for more than one night this would have been reported

Location excellent for visiting university student granddaughter. Convenient parking. Clean comfortable room

Instead of a welcome note there was a list of what we’d have to pay if we damaged anything. A bit off putting!Sound proofing not very good - we were disturbed by noise during the night

When we arrived the bedroom window had been left fully open the room was like a fridge. Turned on radiator in room but not working . The your lady on reception did get us an electric heater

The water wouldn’t drain properly if was flowing ho the toilet area and we were at risk of slipping

Room size

Mattress very uncomfortable, bathroom very very small. For same money I experienced better room in town centre.

Clean good sized rooms, very quiet at night and friendly staff when they were there.

Reception not manned all the time and no check out information in the rooms so I had to check booking information online to find out what time I needed to checkout by.Shower didn't drain properly, which apparently is a common problem in the student accommodation blocks too.Iightweight thin duvet, not cold as the temperature in the room was fine but I find thicker and heavier duvets more comfortable. Just personal preference.Main issue was that there was a lot of light in the room during the night. There was a sizable gap at the bottom of the door allowing quite a lot of light in from the corridor. Also there was a very small but bright green light in the ceiling that I think was possibly related to the emergency lighting? There was a large floor to ceiling mirror next on the wall by both of these which reflected the light into the room ever further. Again this is probably just personal preference as I like as little light as possible when trying to sleep.None of these were major issues at all, but without genius discount this room would have cost about £90 for the night. I was expecting better for that price and I don't really feel that I had good value for money.

Breakfast across in the “Market Hall” was ok; very reasonably priced but not much choice.

The heat on the radiator wasn’t working and was pretty cold also the temperature outside was with minus , we contacted the reception and they was checking if they can move us in another room but apparently the whole floor where we was staying was not working .

Clean and spacious room with big and comfortable bed. It was quiet at night. Shower was amazing. Car park 3 at the Uni had plenty of spaces.

There is a discount for students of the University of Northampton which is not advertised here so I missed out on the discount.

The staff were really lovely they offered me a free breakfast due to the other things wrong , I declined as didn’t want one instead I took an orange juice

The TV didn’t work, I tried everything with TV and remote, the bedside lights didn’t work , when I checked as well as not working they had engrained dust on them

Rooms a good size, clean and tidy, friendly staff, good location.
