    Pros +

    • It's my 4th visit there i just love the hospitality of staff specifically Manpreet Bro who always happy to help and the garden area which i like the most..
    • Accessibility to the city, free car parking, quiet, helpful staff at hand if needed.
    • Good location and value for money overall. We stayed for two nights which was ideal for our trip.

    Cons -

    • There is nothing which i don't like everything is exceptional ?
    • The small step from bedroom into bathroom is a trip hazard. The trees on one side of the car park covers vehicles with sticky purple substance, needed to give the car a good scrub to remove from the paintwork.
    • I couldn't really fault anything over a two night stay considering the price we paid.

Not a great deal to be honest

The rooms are dated, the rooms aren’t sound proof, there was paint flaking from the ceiling. No plug points

    5AmandaPosted on: 9-24-2025

Liked the location and the chip shop and shop around the corner was a godsend as the hotel we,re serving no food.

The room was too big for me one and pretty cold. This is minor but some of the furniture handles and doors were falling off which you wouldn't expect for £70 per night

We had a lovely garden room and as we had booked at different times for the hotel.. they accommodated us so we could have the same room..

About the smoking outside the front door at 5.30/6 on a Sunday morning.,

The room was ok. The heating could not be turned down so very hot during the night. Shower was not powerful and old,

It seems a bit run down, with an untidy appearance outside and inside. Room ok, bed ok, but whole place could do with a revamp. Towels were washed but didn’t look clean and bright. Very much an ok pms s if you are on a budget. Breakfast ok, but oddity’s- cereals provided but no bowels without having to ask. Glad it was only one night.

Solo female traveller. Very helpful professional team. Helped me in advance with sorting out parking, organised taxis, and accommodated a late request for breakfast.Excellent value for money,so convenient in many ways

The man who greeted me at the desk was kind.

The bedsheets had a big stain, the front garden was strewn with cans and cigarette packets, the tv remote was gross, there was signs of damp in the bathroom, as well as part of the shower fixture being broken, the kettle was unclean and the wall had cracked plaster and what once was a really cute b&b had been cheapened by blocking off the hotel reception living room area and the addition of a massive bookcase full of corner shop snacks. The front door was unlocked for easy access for visitors, who were in and out of the room next door all night. As a woman travelling alone, this felt unsafe. It is such a shame that this once lovely hotel is now in such a state. I would pay a higher price to stay if the owners invested even a modicum of effort into improving this hotel, but they seem to be intent on doing everything in their power to ruin it.

Bargain hotel in good location. Great value.

No breakfast available during our stay

Love this place , it’s an old property , very quirky , don’t expect luxury ! BUT it is clean, comfy beds , quality bedding, lovely staff and breakfast is offered for a very reasonable price , parking on site a bonus too

Very quirky, has outside area in garden to sit. Snacks for sale . It's a old hotel full of old quirky items like armour. So don't expect modern but that's why I liked it .

    7ClairePosted on: 4-6-2025

No breakfast available due to oven wasn't working. Did email before hand but no reply just an invoice sent. Beds were comfy, window wasn't closing properly so could hear the traffic. Could do with some new modernisation like new curtains. Checking in was great no problems. Lamp wasn't working

Where to start........ extremely dirty, bed linen was stained and dirty, when ask for new ones I received worse, the mattress on the bed ( if you could call it a bed )had collapsed in the middle so it was unusable, the room hadn't been clean in weeks. About five inches of dust on the carpet along with dirt and stains, the bathroom was filthy, and the hot water ( if you could get some) was at a dribble from the shower. Absolutely no water pressure at all. Food They don't do any evening meals. When asking about it you are told its a five minute walk from the hotel to the local restaurant, that five minute walk is 2 miles away, the breakfast you get in the morning is awful, you can see why they don't cook evening meals. A full English breakfast was ordered, but I couldn't eat it as your food swam away with the grease on the plate Staff This is the only good thing I can say about place. All the staff were nice and very polite, but the area and hotel let's them down. Please stay away from this place. It's not worth any money. I will be looking for a refund,

Good value, clean, basic hotel. If you want a no frills stay this is perfect, close to the centre and does the job.

Shower pressure, had to have a bath eventually!

The location was great 5 mins from my appointment the following morning.Easy check in and check out.

Was a slight odor to room when arrived. Got used to it. Bed was a rather hard mattress. Did finally sleep ok once I did finally fall asleep.Breakfast is advertised on signs in the room, doesn't say about pre ordering so I went down at 8.15am to find no one around no smell of food. So I went to reception, no one about, so headed back to my room. I wanted to have a breakfast, as had a course to do all day.If pre book make it clear.

    6PaulPosted on: 3-13-2025

Easy to book, reception checkin was prompt. Room spacious and well lit. Parking area well lit and easy to find. Room adequately heated when it was 2 degrees outside and snowing. Hotel nicely decorated , old fashioned and traditional styling.

No toilet paper or tissues in room, lucky I had one in my bag! Hairs in bed but bedding was clean so must have been the housekeepers.

    5MaxinePosted on: 3-13-2025

Very helpful staff when I couldn’t reach WiFi in my room.

It was a little creepy, with old rocking horse in the hall, curtain was ripped, mould in the bathroom tiles. But could tell the room had been cleaned. It’s just a little old. It’s all just dated
