Pros +
- We recently stayed at Yardley Manor Hotel for three nights and spent time in the The Griffin Pub, and honestly, it was one of the best stays we’ve had. From the moment we arrived on Friday, we were made to feel so welcome. The gentleman on reception (I believe his name was Steve) was absolutely lovely — very accommodating, explained everything clearly, and made check-in quick and easy.We were on the first floor and were lucky enough to have a sea view, which was amazing. You could see the sea through the town — such a beautiful sight to wake up to. The room had a cosy seaside vibe, was spotless when we arrived, and smelled really fresh and clean. It was the perfect size for our three-night stay, with plenty of storage and towels neatly laid out on the bed ready for us. The bathroom was compact but perfectly fine for the space.Downstairs, the bar was a great atmosphere — dartboard, pool table, music, and really friendly staff. We didn’t have breakfast as we were heading out exploring each day, but it was great to have the option. The bar staff were absolutely amazing. The young guy who served us most of the time was so friendly and even bought us a little birthday shot, which was such a thoughtful touch. The woman serving the following day (who seemed like the bar manager) also got me a birthday drink — it really made the weekend feel special. There was a live band playing one evening and a bit of back and forth about the TVs being on because we were watching the rugby, but the staff handled everything so well. They were incredibly accommodating and made sure we felt comfortable the whole time. They genuinely went above and beyond. We also appreciated that we weren’t disturbed during our stay. Some hotels knock to clean daily, but here they respected our space. We just needed fresh towels, which they left for us without any fuss — perfect for a short break.Free parking was a huge bonus, and the location was excellent.

Cons -
- The interior is slightly old-fashioned in style, but in a charming way — very clean, no musty smells, and exactly the cosy, traditional seaside feel we were looking for. It’s not ultra-modern, but that’s part of its charm. If I had to mention anything for improvement, it would be that the shower pressure wasn’t very strong and the shower itself was a little small. Also, the bar menus could probably do with an update as a few cocktails weren’t available and some prices had changed — although the staff were very clear and helpful about this, so it didn’t affect us at all.The free drink offer on arrival (buy one, get one free) was also a lovely touch.Overall, we honestly couldn’t fault it. The staff made the stay. It was welcoming, clean, friendly, and great value. We would absolutely stay again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Poor state of decor, no coffee or tea unless you buy or visit reception between 0800-1100 and the area where the drink would be served, was filthy. Quite a few flies, the bathroom room 25 grim state and the non smoking room stunk of stale smoke. My friend had room 24 and did not use the bed, owing to feeling uncomfortable about the state of the room. We both left around 0530 as individually, we did not feel comfortable about the rooms and for me, the smell.
- Work in progress to upgrade. Little things fell apart in room, which was two floors up (3 from breakfast room)

Very clean and mostly staff lovely Good breakfast, good bar and great sleep in comfy bed

You get what you pay for, this was cheap and cheerful, your typical seaside hotel stuck in the 1980's. The room was ok, the bedding was ok, everything about it was just ok, nothing special, cheap bedding, cheap furniture, cheaply furnished with cheap 80's furnishings which had been painted. The shower room had cheap vinyl on the walls instead of actual tiles, the whole thing was just done on the cheap with a real downmarket 80's vibe. However to be fair, the manager was polite and friendly, no hassles, the room was clean. Although nowadays I take my own pillows and a sleeping bag, as I find the bedding cheap and uncomfortable in most hotels at this price and it was a budget price. Can't believe that whilst there was a kettle and tea cups in the room, you had to pay downstairs for any tea or coffee, which I thought was a bit penny-pinching. In the basement of the Hotel there was a bar open to the public and they played loud music until about 10pm, which you could hear in your room, this was Saturday night. The walls were also so thin that you could hear people talking in the corridor and doors banging all the time, so very little sound proofing. We were literally a five minute walk from the seafront, so great location and they also had parking, so it was easy to park our car and walk to the seafront. No sea views though as it's tucked behind other buildings. All in you get what you pay for and this was exactly what I was expecting for the price!
With a little bit of money and effort it could be brought into the 21st century, it doesn't have to be all modern and shiny, you can actually furnish rooms quite cheaply with quality vintage furnishings and create a theme for each room. Wood chip on the wall and painted furniture are dated and smack of lack of care or of taste! Give people a few teas bags and sachets of sugar & coffee in their room, you're talking of a few pence, penny pinching never works and puts people off.
Comfortable newly decorated bedroom with a sea view, excellent homemade breakfast and car parking had a pub attached providing live music at the weekend
The experience was great and the staff were polite and accommodating.
There was a fair bit of wall bubbling in the rooms. Plus some of the balconies facing the landward side are in a serious state of disrepair.
Lovely friendly staff, room a bit tired looking , really close to park and harbour. The Griffen bar understand hotel is absolutely fab.
I have a bad back, so the bed didn't suit me.
Always stay here large room. clean, comfy bed, great location friendly owner
Host very friendly
Room really in need of uplift, but bed really comfortable
Always a warm welcome at the Yardley Manor. Free parking, clean comfortable room, well stocked bar downstairs with weekend entertainment, fantastic breakfast to finish our stay. This was our 3rd stay here and we will certainly be back.
Friendly family hotel ran pub
All the staff were friendly and helpful. The bar is reasonably priced and lots of different drinks to choose from. Lovely clean spacious room. We will be back!
Fabulous breakfast. Location. Clean. After hours access very good. On site parking very convenient. Very good value
All good
Breakfast was great
Decor of room very poor painted old furniture, the whole place need a refit very old .Facilities in room poor ,No coffee or tea and coffee maker in bottom of wardrobe. View from room was awful. The website is clearly worded cleverly its not what you actually get Attached to a pub which again not stated which shuts if not busy .Just not value for money .Could add alot more pictures but won't let me ..
The location was great, 10 min walk into town Breakfast was good. Everything cooked hot Free parking.
In our opinion ,the hotel didn't really resemble the pictures shown .The building looked tired and was in need of some updating, but in fairness, there was everything you needed for a short break. We felt that the staff serving breakfast on Saturday were rude, they told us off, saying the restaurant didn't open till 8.15 when the actual time was 8.55, so not sure what was happening there however the breakfast was good.
Friendly staff Clean room Lovely live music Actually...Lovely place
Actually....nothing
Really nice stay. Very friendly staff. You could argue that the rooms are quite old but they are clean and functional which made our stay very pleasant.
Nothing. For what we paid and the bar downstairs, it was great.
Owners very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast good. Location good. Mattress very noisy on edges and window knocked through night.
Bed not as comfy as expected. Decor very shabby and dated. Lots of extension leads but none with USB ports. Booked a superior room but rather cluttered. For what we paid it was ok but just a little disappointed
Breakfast was amazing
Stairs were numerous and the hotel needs a revamp.
