The location and sea view

Shabby, discoloured wallpaper. Stained carpets. Furniture in need of a paint. No tea/ coffee/ soap etc in room. But worse than any of this disgustingly dirty. Def hadn't had a covid deep clean. Dirty finger marks on door, surfaces grimy, hair on shower

Clean & looking refreshed. Free parking. Heater provided as it was very cold

Some areas - ie bathroom not clean/sock found in bedroom

Room clean and comfortable, short walk to town centre. Beach on the doorstep.

Lovely room with fantastic sea views. The bed was comfortable and the room was a good size. Walking distance to the town centre.

Nothing to dislike

Location was great and staff were good.It made it easy to visit other places of interest around the area.

Our room did not have a view and did not like the noise of the trains going past frequently and the smell of other guests smoking (not cigarettes) in the rooms.

Obviously location. A sort of no fuss, basic place. Decor was like a teenager's seaside bedroom, no doubt a refurb. But quite spacey and pleasant enough. Nice check-in lady.

Asked for quiet room and found it was backing onto railway line! No decaf drink options. No soap, just shower gel bottle. Minimal milks.

We had a sea view which for us as first time stay over as a couple the view was perfect, the parking felt secure & even better that it was FREE.

The bed was slightly too firm for us, possibly the need for new/cleaner pillows. - The throw sheet at the end of the bed were dirty. This for us was the only thing that let it down. - that’s with being picky.

Not clean . Small room with work tops on both sides of the bed so you hit you head in the night. Most uncomfortable bed. Not happy at all

Had a very nice room with a sea-view. Very convenient to get my kayak to Corbyn's Head to kayak to Thatcher Rock and back.

I liked the hotel and the room I was given for a week. I liked the location as it was in distance of the town of Torquay. It had good transport links to other areas down by the English Riviera by train, bus and taxis. The view outside the main entrance of the hotel was good as well as it is facing the seafront. The hotel also featured a garden with courtyard and numerous car parking spaces. It featured chairs and tables that you can sit down on upon arrival at the hotel main entrance and hotel reception.

What I didn't like is that my bathroom (located in my room) did not have a hot tap to use by the bathroom sink. As I turned the tap, it did not work for the whole week. I did not inform the hotel management about it as they already knew about it. It did not put me off my holiday for the week, nor did it dis-satisfy my overall stay there at the Water's Edge Hotel. I managed to only use the cold tap for the whole week and had plenty of hot water whilst I used the shower suite unit located inside my bathroom.

Stayed quite a few times at this hotel when working in Torquay. It has a large car park, which is good for us as we have a large van. Easy walking distance to the marina where there are plenty of restraunts and bars. Rooms have had a refurb comfy beds.

Well located. Lovely views from hotel gardens of sea and towards Brixham. Clean, comfortable beds. Light and airy rooms. Lift.

Loved the aspect of this hotel with sweeping views over the bay from the spacious living room and sunny front garden. My single room was perfect for my requirements. Tastefully decorated with large smart tv, powerful shower and the usual array of teas/coffees/milk with added biscuits which were replenished daily by room service. The room and whole hotel was very clean. I would say the professional photos are pretty accurate. Didn’t see many staff but they probably don’t need many as the hotel doesn’t do any meals. There is a small bar and vending machine. The two I met were welcoming. The train station is literally a 3 minute walk away and the harbour about 10 mins but it’s a very easy walk. Buses are outside if you don’t want to walk. It is also convenient for Torre Abbey.

I would have liked the opportunity to get a breakfast (even a limited continental ) as had early train but I knew about this before and didn’t plan ahead (no cafe at station either)

Not many amenities…. Not much service (although the front desk man was very helpful). It’s not really a hotel
