Pros +
- Great view towards the sea
- Very good breakfast. Amazing view. Lovely staff. Easy to park.
- Location is fine, great views across harbour, safe parking at £10 per night. All staff were excellent and professional.Food was excellent value, especially the bar meals--good value and varied.
Cons -
- No breakfast included in the price
- Tired decor needs updating. When did you last see an avocado bathroom suite? Could do with blackout blinds on the sea view windows to keep the heat out and the bright spotlights that illuminate the hotel at night.
- Uncomfortable bed, compact room, small shower space, antiquated lift ,all these factors led to our decision not to return,as we usually visit Torquay once or twice a year. The lift has to be seen to be believed, I have done weight training in the past,so could just about cope, but God help the elderly or infirm. I am sorry to have to write this criticism. The hotel caters more for coaches now.

I did appreciate very much the fact that a ``breakfast`` and coffee had been prepared for me and made available in the morning because of a very early checkout (05:15H !) on my last day.
The location literally.
The facilities were worn and definitely need renewing beds very bouncy springy noisy uncomfortable bathrooms out dated hardly any water came out the shower not as big and wow as it looks in the photos
Stunning in the sun...on the sea facing side of hotel.
A poor night's sleep due to traffic noise on road facing side of hotel
Staff friendly. Location
Room very small, hard to walk around the bed. Bed very uncomfortable, noisy traffic even though not in town centre. Shower ran cold, so only one of us able to shower in morning . Breakfast mediocre.
Very pleasant stay with friendly and helpful staff. Hotel clean and tidy with good bus route into Totquay and Paignton. Good breakfast and choice of bar meals..
A dangerous place to stay!
The beds in the first room we had, room 62, had mattresses with no support in them. In the early hours of the morning, about 4am, the edge of the mattress gave way and I fell out of bed banging my head on the corner of a wooden shelf between the two beds. My head was pouring with blood. The night porter called an ambulance & I was taken to Torbay hospital where I had 3 stitches and glue put into the cut just above my left eye. The doctor said that I was lucky that I did not lose my eye. I filled in the accident book when we got back to the hotel. We were then moved to a room, 52, for our second night which had much firmer mattresses. I expected at least we would not have to pay for our 2 night stay but we had paid in advance. Since that fall & the pain above my eye fading a little I have discovered the bruises on my left knee & leg and a pain in my back when I bend. The night porter in the hotel was very helpful as far as he was able to be.
Good breakfast. Great location. Friendly staff.
Dated accommodation.
Lovely location and very spacious room.
No lift which was a struggle with my children. The windows in my room were filthy and I couldn't see the sea view very well.
Once again hotel clean and tidy and staff excellent as normal. Good choice for breakfast and good evening menu. Will definately be staying again.
Staff were very friendly grounds were lovely.
Cold in the room and bar area.
We have stayed at the hotel a number of times and always been satisfied. The staff are excellent.
We asked for a sea view but unfortunately had a car park view.
there was a £10 charge to park in the hotel
the reception was very unfriendly and there were yapping dogs in the lounge when we had a coffee for breakfast
Booked for a last minute stay over after a theatre visit. Location good. Pleasant staff. Nice room.
Great locationFriendly staffRooms were clean
Rooms were a bit tired and dated.
Good breakfast.
Got charred £10 parking via booking was told not applicable if booking direct. No indication of charges on booking com. Room very average. Very poor shower.
Lovely views of the sea.
Very dated. The lift was very antiquated and hard to use as you had to open the door and then pull back the second metal concertina door to get in. Both were not easy to do. Very small and only just fitted 2 people plus one case. Room door hard to open (handle hard to turn). Good sized family room but TOO HOT!!! Radiator turned off and window opened the whole time made no difference at all resulting in a sweaty night of broken sleep. Very noisy due to having to have the window open all night. Bathroom was a very slim rectangular shape with little room to move. Shower had hand rails and a non slip mat which was very helpful. Pillows were very thin. Furnishings very dated. Polite and friendly staff.
Staying at this hotel was a fantastic experience. The location offers breathtaking views of the coastline. However, the real highlight is the outstanding service and the delicious food in the hotel restaurant. The staff is professional, friendly, and always helpful. The tomato soup and seabass were absolutely incredible – a must-try! Highly recommended, and I would love to come back.
