Pros +
- Character and place where Queen Victoria used to stay before she as Queen. Impressive rooms all round.
- Beautiful building and fantastic food
- We didn't like anything! The hotel looks lovely but looks are deceiving. The room was old creaky, cold, noisy from above and below and the bed was very uncomfortable Bath shower impossible to get in and out of safely. The restaurant looks lovely but in reality had terrible service and steak was poor - took ages for the wine to be served - waiter reached across customers faces to place and collect the plates and showed no interest customers likes or dislikes. Extra note: The bar wasn't cleared from the night before and it took 40 mins to get 2 glasses of wine at 2 pm in the afternoon.
Cons -
- The room was very small for the price.

- Fix the poor lighting in the breakfast room which wasn't helped by one globe being out for all of our stay. Dripping tap in our room which we reported.

The staff members were excellent. Asha in particular was most helpful. Cosy bars and lounges. Christmas Day lunch was superb. Just a lovely vibe. Breakfast was a standout every day.

The staff were excellent and the breakfast delicious
The lift is a bit awkward and small
Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was excellent. Easy access to central Tunbridge Wells. Good safe parking. A lovely clean room and d comfortable bed.
Food was excellent. Chateaubriand for dinner and avocado toast for breakfast. Delightful! Sonny served us dinner and did a great job.
Check in was awful. We struggled with our bags for some time.
2nd time staying in this hotel and this time I came back with my wife. She fell in love with the hotel, and we will absolutely be back! Adding A/C was a plus but I would come back just for the breakfast, The French Toast is OUTSTANDING!!!!!
I didn't like leaving the hotel!!!
Good location and dinner was good
Room was in the cottage and refurb late into the evening and early morning (6am) linen cages being rolled past window meant it was a very disturbed rest
Nice comfortable room, great bath & shower, beautiful views over the park after Victoria produced magic and got us a park-facing room (Thank you again, Victoria!). Meals were good and the service was very pleasant.
Lighting in the rooms was gloomy and terrible! Also no outlet on one side of the bed for a charger etc without unplugging the bedside light.Breakfast pricing was awkward; there should be some a la carte options (if I just want yogurt, fruit & coffee it should not cost £20, especially for boring tinned fruit salad). I had a feeling we were overcharged at breakfast, not through any intent but through lack of clarity.
Period atmosphere and excellent staff
Shower failed to work in the morning and building work outside bedroom at 08:00 am.Price of breakfast and drinks.
Very nice clean staff extremely nice and helpful
This was a last minute decision ! We were seeing a show over the road from the hotel & my wife & I decided to stay over rather than the late drive home.We booked the hotel & an Afternoon Tea.The whole stay was very pleasant !
Nothing !
The hotel was one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in , in a while. From the friendly check in to the quality of the toiletries, I couldn’t fault.I’d definitely recommend, and I’d definitely return.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like .I’m allergic to dogs and other animals, I was allocated a room that wasn’t used for guests with dogs, and whilst dogs were welcome in the bar, they were not in the restaurant, which is a welcome change.
The hotel itself is lovely and we have stayed before, staff are very friendly and helpful, the beds are very comfortable and the bathroom was very big, a lovely walk in shower and full roll top bath. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.
There is currently a refurbishment/build project underway on the terrace which means you can't sit outside, the area has metal barriers in place and all the furniture is piled up for the construction work to take place. There was nothing on the website to indicate this was the case. Also, be aware that there is a huge building to the side of the hotel which is about to be demolished, our room looked over the site which was not attractive and I wonder how noisy that will be when the main work gets underway. The hotel should be honest on their website that work is taking place, the garden is closed for about 8 weeks and when the building is demolished next door it will be noisy and I wouldn't stay during that work.
Poor
I paid for parking. Then one day I came back and my allocated space had been given to someone else. The garden was closed for renovations. The room bedsheets were not changed from Tue to Sunday, they were made but not changed. I knew this as there was an old stain on them. The room and general hotel felt a bit tired. Didn't really enjoy my stay there. They did not hoover up the dog biscuits on the dog matt.
Breakfast was excellent. Location also.
Outside needs a coat of paint.
Great central location with easy access to carpark a few minutes walk away. Spacious rooms with the most comfortable bed in the world. Breakfast was vast & delicious. Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. highly recommend staying here.
Lovely hotel, excellent food and was lucky enough to have a room upgrade to a deluxe room which was spacious and very swish. Lovely views of the park beyond
The Room was Spacious and the Bathroom as well with both a Shower and Bath. The View of the Park from the Room was amazing.
I saw no reason for my credit card to be debited with a small sum on checking in to cover any expenses we could possibly make .
