Pros +
- Location and friendliness of the staff
- Breakfast was really good and freshly cooked.
- Clean cosy and comfortable stay
Cons -
- The room was far too warm and hard to sleep. Tried to adjust the temperature with the thermostat but didn’t seem to work. The air was also very dry during the night. The temperature in the breakfast room the next morning was also ridiculous warm.
- Just me, but I find hotel mattresses too firm. If one could request a softer one the. I would give 10/10.
- Booked a deluxe king room I was disappointed with the actual size of the room it was very cramped and small. The bathroom was a good size but had a shower over the bath the rubber along the glass door obviously has aged so when showering the glass kept falling in on me and hitting my elbow or head. To be honest I have stayed in the merchant for around the same amount of money and it was a different level of luxury..

It is a beautiful, historic hotel in the centre of Derry, with valet parking!Fabulous food and extremely friendly staff
Loved the friendly staff and the atmosphere beautiful breakfast.

Great Central location, staff on reception friendly helpful and pleasant, hotel is clean and room had hairdryer bathrobes and kettle nice bar area and great breakfast selection of freshly cooked and continental
The lay out of room 605 is not good as the furniture is arranged oddly. In the bathroom the shelf for products was to close to sink and there was no space for my own products.Air conditioning was loud and it was difficult to get to the window side of the bed if one person was using the dresser.
Lovely building in great location. Comfortable and friendly. We had a balcony on our room, with nice views.
A little on the expensive side, but everywhere is nowadays!! Very warm, our room was too warm and the bathroom was like a sauna. In fairness, it was a very chilly few days and the hotel is an old building so I think they were trying to make sure guests weren’t cold.
Smooth check-in ; valet parking
Not possible to open window more than a crack. No black pudding or Greek yogurt at breakfast
The staff were exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable, professional and going out of their way to make our stay fantastic.
The room was a little small and the lift was noisy late at night.
Love the decor and feel of hotel, warm, friendly staff and environment
Didn’t get our food ordered for breakfast and had to ask a member of staff to take it after 30 mins wait. Breakfast was beautiful thou
Lovely room and great friendly staff. Receptionist was great
I’d say it’s slightly overpriced
Staff were all absolutely fantastic. Nothing was any bother for them and all were so friendly from reception staff, dining room staff, bar staff and night porter
First impression: historic location, beautiful building and decor, very welcoming staff.Lovely, comfortable room - tastefully decorated and restful.Excellent dinner in a cosy dining room with friendly and professional staff.
Patrick was excellent he was thorough and gave an excellent introduction to the city. All the staff were really friendly the breakfast was excellent and we had a lovely stay.
The temperature in the room was a little bit warm we kept our window open all night and could hear what seemed to be an air conditioning unit at times.
Service was great. Apartment layout was great
The room had minimal natural light as it was a basement room and this was a surprise
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were great. The location is excellent for everything I wanted to see.
The hotel is beautiful, the rooms and beds are comfortable, the facilities are top class, the location is perfect. However, it is the service which makes this hotel exceptional. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, and go over and beyond to make your stay memorable. I left a valuable item in my room after check out, and it arrived on my doorstep in England by lunchtime the following day. So grateful to everyone who helped. We will definitely be back.
We had an apartment for a family of 4. The apartment was beautifully maintained and private with access to the main hotel facilities right over the road. The best of both worlds
Very clean and tidy hotel. Great character. Good restaurant and bar services.
I had a room at the front, Bishops Street side. Very noisy from passing vehicles and deliveries in the morning to the hotel.
