    Cons -

    • The showers in the room were not very clear as to which way to adjust water temp. Showers in the gym, swimming pool area were excellent
    • Room was poor for being a Superior room , pillow and bed extremely uncomfortable. Had to pay to park car at the carpark and even that was restricted to be out before a certain time !
    • -pool was very much in need of renovations- hot tub not working , cold plunge wasn’t working either - the bar was understaffed - there was a party in function room and due to number of people staff were unable to cater for all staff.- Unprofessional practice - while at bar a punter returned a bottle as it was too warm after he had taken a drink from it - i watched as this was replaced but the staff then recapped the bottle and placed back in fridge.-hotel parking was costly £14 for day.

Extensive works limited facilities marred our stay

Worst breakfast I have ever had in a hotel cost £45 for 2 adults and children complained at reception nothing was done

    8WendyPosted on: 2-21-2026

Rooms comfortable, food was very good,Ideal location

Was only one member of staff in restaurant, was very busy, but he managed very well, should have had more

    1PhyllisPosted on: 2-21-2026

    ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Hotel did not inform guests that had precooked that the only entrance and exit into the hotel was via a basement car park lift. My room had odour of stale carpet and drain smell in the bathroom door had to be kept shut..we checked out after one night as this was a health and safety issue..

Central great staff easy access good views

    Renovations underway

    5BernadettePosted on: 2-20-2026

The location was lovely we had a river view

The sofa in the suite was badly stained. Some of the bar staff were very slow in getting orders even though it wasn't very busy.

    Very central

Get that they are renovating but they have let their standards drop. Have stayed in this hotel and couldn't believe the difference from Jan 2025 to feb26

Family room was clean, warm and spacious

Room had 2 chairs and we were 4 guests. I asked for a third chair but it was not provided.Renovations we're underway, resulting in make shift reception area and bar area. This was not a relaxing or enjoyable space. Chairs were worn and torn, curtains were hanging from pole. The breakfast area was also temporary, with poor selection of fruit and breakfast items. Have stayed in city hotel before and really enjoyed the space and surroundings. This stay was disappointing.

Terrible had to pay £14 for car park for one night ..hotel dated & absolute nightmare with lack of plugs / usb plugs in bedroom. Zeros plugs to charge phone beside bed ( wanted phone to be near for music / alarm etc )

Lack of plugs , lack of shower products , lack of led lighting in bedroom & tv size of postage stamp

    5KathleenPosted on: 2-16-2026

Excellent central location and the staff.

Very tired and faded. The bar area was old, chipped furniture and very run down. No atmosphere No drinks or food menus on display.

    2SeanyPosted on: 2-16-2026

Location is the only thing this has going. Probably good for stag & hens.

Nothing like website. More like a hostel I would say. Rooms freezing and very basic unlike photos. Bathroom dirty. Pool/leisure centre in bad disrepair. Everything musty and smelly. I think it would have been better to just close during these renovations. I'm not picky at all, and stay away 30-40 nights a year for various reasons. This was just rough and ready.

Location great ,staff lovely! Room really clean and beds extremely comfortable. We had a nice stay

We had to wait for elevator to get to basement to exit the building as its under renovation! This was quite a wait as everyone checking out together!!

    8RoisinPosted on: 2-15-2026

Loved the location and the breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful

Unfortunately our room wasn't ready when we arrived. There are renovations going on at the hotel that we were made aware off so thank you) however that contributed to long waits for lift to enter and exit hotel at certain times.

    5PaulPosted on: 2-15-2026

Breakfast was excellent, good location with car park

Lifts very slow and constantly waiting, no front door due to maintenance work , not sufficient information or signs to advise that exit was via car park , stairway behind lift at reception was closed off .

    8CherylPosted on: 2-14-2026

Everything was very good. Even the fridge in the room. And the fact you could take plates etc up to ur room.

The only thing we didn’t like was having to wear a swimming cap into the pool, just found it a little annoying.

    8LeeannePosted on: 2-13-2026

Our room was beautiful very clean and comfortable

The changing room to the pool was freezing cold and the temperature of the pool was cold too.The jacuzzi bath in our bathroom didn’t work.

    8SharonPosted on: 2-13-2026

Clean room and good facilities despite work being carried out to the hotel

No UHT milk supplied in hotel room for tea or coffees. Car parking sign was up to say the carpark was full when it wasn’t, resulting in having to park next door at Quayside parking which was a hassle as a single parent with a young child
