Cons -
- The sofa bed was really uncomfortable
- That I couldn't stay longer they were great!
- We initially had a bath with a hand held shower, which would have been difficult for my husband to use as he has had a hip replacement. However, the problem was quickly remedied by the receptionist offering us another room with a walk in shower.

Stayed in the Canterbury suite, a one bed apartment. Lovely and spacious with all we needed.Very clean and comfortable.
Would have been nice to have a microwave in kitchen.
Staff friendly , great location. Free parking . Room clean . Breakfast nice .
Personal preference the bed was too soft .
Decor and breakfast
Our room was a little hot and noisy by the stairs and main entrance
Very good
Seating was leather and not very comfortable. A lot of dust on things. I thought it was a 2 bedroom apartment but it wasn’t there was an archway between the 2 sleeping areas. Ok for one night but not for longer
The staff was friendly and kind. The breakfast was very good, and they also gave me requirements about gluten-free and lactose-free. Happy with that. The bathroom was very clean.
The Lobby floor was not clean when I arrived, but it's not my primary concern. We stayed in room 16, located on the first floor, just next to the stairs. This room was so close to the reception that we could hear every conversation as each host arrived for registration. After a long day of travel, I arrived around 6 o'clock expecting a quiet room to rest, but it was the opposite. Also, from the windows, we could hear cars on the main streets. The room is so small, with large furniture, that it can be uncomfortable to walk inside. The mattress was very uncomfortable after some hours of lying down. I tried to find another hotel nearby, but it was impossible to find one on Valentine's Day.
Room very clean. Breakfast had lots of choice and catered for special dieta
Parking was a little challenging, but ok. Shower needed a little tlcBut would definitely stay again.
Clean, warm, comfortable, inexpensive, good breakfast, friendly staff
Bedroom area was small - but shower good size
Grand old building with period features and high ceilings. Very friendly and helpful staff. Meena kindly carried my bag up al the stairs, and she tried to help when my room was not what I had requested on booking. Quiet hotel and quiet room. Bed comfortable with crisp cotton sheets. Bathroom warm. Breakfast buffet offered good choice of fruit, cereals, cold ham and cheese, and hot options. Pleasing outdoor space, and parking. Location just out of the city, level walk into city centre via subway, about ten minutes. Staff all particularly pleasant.
My room was up two-and-a-half flights of stairs. Room allocation was peculiar - I had requested (3 nights) in a room with bath, but was given a room with a shower (and low, sloping ceiling, so cramped-feeling especially trying to get round the door). When I asked to be moved this wasn't possible but I was able to use a bath in another empty room on that first night. As I was going out for the day at 10am the next morning it was neither possible, or desirable, to pack up and move into another room at 11am after its occupant had checked out. For the following two nights just one other guest and myself were the only people in the hotel, so I would have preferred to have been allocated the requested room with bath for the entire three-night stay, and one without scaffolding outside my window, which I only discovered in the morning when I opened the curtains, and which was not mentioned on booking. This scaffold platform blocked the view of the garden. The shower had no soap dish or shelf on which to put toiletries, only on the floor. Decor tired. The room was too warm the first night, then too cool during the second night so the heating may have been altered, I adjusted the radiator for the third.
The cottage is spacious and simple but all you need and perfect for two large dogs!
The sofa was incredibly uncomfortable and the cottage uncomfortably hot. Also pillows aren’t great.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good. We had our room changed and the 2nd room was very good
The first room we had was very hot. Said garden view but just had scaffold platform outside window. also loud music from next room.We complained and was given a very nice room so could not fault that one, staff very helpful and solved the problem.
The room was large and comfortable
The continental breakfast had a good choice, however the pastries were overcooked and the bread was slightly dry , the toaster burnt the toast and it would be nice to have had a teapot.
Lovely room, good breakfast selection and close to town.
We had some noisy neighbours.
Staff was helpful room was spacious and breakfast was good
Very central. Free parking. Lovely and warm and cosy.
Shower didn’t work.
Lovely hotel, location and on site parking. Nice breakfast
Room above reception… imposible to sleep… everyone talking and able to listen all conversations when someone was phoning hotel reception.
Nice to have a bathtub Comfortable bed and nice sheets
A little further away than we thought from centre of Canterbury but we enjoyed the walk as the weather was dry
Perfect location, central to town. The staff were warm and super friendly, the breakfast was good with a great selection to choose from. The building and grounds are beautiful.
The interiors are a wee bit tired and in need of some modernisation.
