Pros +
- It had a good medieval vibe
- Great place to stay. A comfortable, warm place to stay in a good location in Canterbury with great breakfast too.
- Staff very helpful. Food was great. Location
Cons -
- There was no air conditioning. A top room and heat travels up. It was HOT. We had two beds and were given one small fan. When I asked for a second one they only had enough fans for one per room. They should Spend $20 and buy enough fans per bed.
- Would have been good to have soya milk for the breakfast.

Nice location, good breakfast.
Upstairs room got quite hot. But the beds were comfortable, so it wasn't horrible.
Great location and good meals.
Room cleanliness. Problems with water. Very noisy room overlooking street.
We loved the location, friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities and comfy beds and linens. The food was delicious. We had an amazing dinner and breakfast, and the pub had a great atmosphere.
We had a great view looking out onto the canal and a nice breeze that filled the room; however, I think we would have slept better if we had a room on the backside of the inn. Our room was noisy as we could hear doors opening and closing below us, and the windows rattled with the wind. Fans are also needed in the rooms as there is no air conditioning.
breakfast, luggage storage, staff going out of their way to help us
Excellent. Very kind that I could leave my luggage to pick up after Sunday Service at Canterbury Cathedral.Breakfast (cooked by Joe) was the most outstanding eggs florentine I have enjoyed in a long while.
Everything was great!
Great location and service. Nice atmosphere
Some amenities are lacking. Dated stairway, stiff bed. The room was warm and only bedding was a thick comforter.
The location was minutes from the both the station and the high street; the bed was large and very comfortable; the bathroom was spacious and clean.
There seemed to be a little too much furniture in the room? Or maybe I'm thinking of a different hotel. I remember a wardrobe and a chest of drawers, both rather large, which took up a lot of space. The windows looking right down on the pavement also made stepping out of the shower an interesting experience.
Breakfast menu restricted but we liked the food on offer. Very good location to walk to the city centre.
Above all the plumbing was old and very noisy disturbing us at night from the room next door. A second chair would have been useful.
Location was ideal.
Upon arrival at just after check in time room was not ready due to staff shortages.Room was changed to lower floor. Bed was uncomfortable. Hardly any cold water from bathroom tap just a dribble.Toilet cistern took a while to refill.
Staff friendly and welcoming and helpful. The food was lovely but a bit pricey. The room looked clean, but window sills were dirty, and the bathroom floor around the bin area could have been cleaner. The room was cold. Good tea and coffee making facilities in the room and added a box of tissues. The view from the window was lovely, it's in a nice area. Didn't particularly like dogs being around when eating in the bar area, but that's just my preference. Hubby didn't mind it. On the whole we enjoyed our visit ?
Staff were excellent, Jenny was very helpful with checking in & showing us our room & car park, breakfast was lovely as our last stay . The reason we returned for lovely friendly polite staff & perfect location !
Shame little garden at back wasn’t open , not sure if it was being renovated ?
Great location and a beautiful room with great view. Staff super friendly. The breakfast was also great.
Location is fantastic. Car park close to the Pub at a reduced rate. Food excellent. Breakfast excellent. Helpfulness of the owner and breakfast staff. Comfortable rooms.
Rooms and decoration a little tired and in need of some attention. This is apparently next on the list of improvements to be undertaken. Room and bathroom need more attention to cleaning detail.
We had the millers room at the front, lots of outside noise, and the constant sound of water all night, also toilets and showers from other rooms very noisy, desperate need of refurb and double glazing, otherwise a nice place to stay
Lovely staff, great food, short walk to city centre...overall a lovely place, will defo go back
The breakfast and we had an evening meal was excellent. Staff were very helpful
The room was very hot as evening was mild but heating was on
The breakfast was very good. The menu for evening meals was lovely so we ate there every night. All was home cooked.
Can't think of anything at the moment.
