    • location on a pedestrian only street one block up from River - super staff owner attentive and available. very nice breakfast in lovely room
    • Breakfast was excellent. A small friendly hotel with outstanding staff. Location is good, unfortunately no river view.
    • We generally liked the personal touch during our stay. Whether it's preference for bread in the breakfast or accommodating our stroller downstairs in the reception so we will have more space in the room. We also received few useful info ahead of our stay about the hotel and surrounding area. It was very thoughtful of Stefan! Breakfast was generally good, ample choices and quite filling. They even accommodated our 9 months old with a baby chair and the baby had a great time eating breakfast with us. The room was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable to sleep in. We appreciated the water kettle in the room although we didn't end up using it. There was a large TV which was a nice touch but we didn't stay in the room long enough to enjoy it. The hotel doesn't have it's own parking but there are parking choices near but paid and unpaid. If necessary, you can drive to the hotel directly to load and unload your luggage which is helpful. I heartily recommend to stay here if you can overlook the drawbacks as that was a bit specific to our situation.

    Cons -

    • The hotel dates back to 1920 so as charming as it is, it has it's drawbacks. Furniture looks a bit dated but that's really individual taste and it wasn't a big issue with us. Our main struggle was the fact that our room on first floor had no real view. We did have two windows that were enough for air circulation but it both opened to the building next to it which was almost close enough to touch. This made the room very claustrophobic and we just decided to stay outside as long as possible. I suppose the choice of room made sense since other rooms require climbing further up the narrow stairs with the baby but I feel like this should be indicated somewhere while reserving the room.
    • Zero complaints, room was very clean, bathroom was big and updated, staff spoke English.
    • Many stairs, no lift, bathroom needs some renovations

The place was very very clean, comfortable and the host was great. Great location. good quality breakfast.

We rent two rooms and on both rooms there was no hot water. It was less than warm :(

Friendly staff, comfy rooms, good breakfast, nice little town, clean bedrooms and bathroom. Small shop at the entrance with local wines and beers. Beautiful surroundings especially in the mornings where we saw deer crossing the road (watch out). Rooms were very well prepared by the owner

It's an somewhat older, yet very clean and well kept hotel with friendly staff

The heater does not warm the room enough

The hotel is 50m to the waterfront. Very clean and breakfast was included. Free train tickets and free public parking.

No lifts but it's understandable since it's a 120 year old building

Clean and well run three star hotel by a very friendly and helpful couple. Breakfast is great, rooms are clean, beds comfortable and outside deck was appreciated. Nice neighborhood good restaurant and proximity to ferry and river cruise access and tickets (purchase online in advance).

Although the lack of a lift or elevator was NOT an issue for us, it could be for those with mobility issues.

    7KarinPosted on: 10-12-2024

Nice location close to the train station. Nicely sized room Breakfast was not great but ok.

Walls are a bit thin, had a snoring person in the room next to mine for both nights ?

Great location, excellent breakfast, quiet and lovely staff

    Central

The owner was a business man. No empathy for tired travellers. He stood by and watched us unload heavy cycle panniers and heavy batteries. At all other hotels even young lady receptionists helped carry our luggage to our room. We would not recommend this hotel to cyclists.

    10TatjanaPosted on: 9-27-2024

Great location for exploring the romantic Rhine. The German breakfast is excellent, and the hosts are very kind and helpful. We had a family room on the top floor. Everything is very clean. There is easy parking about a two to three minute walk away, but you can drop off and pick up nearly next to the hotel (the hotel entrance is on a pedestrian zone).

Be aware that the rooms are distributed over 3 or 4 floor levels, if you have a room on the top floor, you will have to climb a lot of stairs up and down. There are some heavy doors between the levels, someone frail or a child may need help opening them or holding them open.

Host was very helpful. I had a problem with my ebike on route, and he accepted a delivery so I could fix it when I got to the hotel. He allowed us to charge our bikes in an external, secure building and even made sure they were fully charged before going to bed.Location is excellent, and breakfast was brilliant, the best on my trip. I'd certainly stay here again.

Our room was on the top floor and had a sloping ceiling at my side of the bed. Although I tried to avoid it, I still banged my head (my wife just laughed).

The host was very helpful, accommodating a late arrival and providing very useful information about where to park in St. Goar. The hotel is on a street that is closed to cars after 10:00 a.m. each day, and my room had a balcony where I could look down the shopping street at the famous Rheinfels Castle. My room was carefully cleaned, and the breakfasts are excellent.

Guests with mobility limitations should know that the hotel has no elevator, so they may have to walk up one or two flights of stairs. Also, it's smart to depart before 10:00 a.m., so you can load your car in the street that is closed to cars for the rest of the day.
