- It's history and quaintness. Marvelous to be in these old structures! The staff that greeted us were friendly and helpful.
- It’s lovely. The old world charm. The history. The rooms are a treat. A welcome respite. Housekeeping was so kind. I was sick when I arrived there. The maids were generous and helpful.
- Spaciousness of the room. Historical aspect of the property. Breakfasts very good, and staff very hard working.
Cons -
- They don’t serve food of any kind. The front desk staff is not that friendly. They appeared frustrated by my arrival even though it’s a hotel. I don’t think they like pilgrims, even though I paid the going rate for my room.
- Location poor - no parking. Property should work with local entity to provide close by secure, and available parking. Would be nice to have on site bar/vino, snack service, and or croissant/coffee in the morning.

As we were late to make reservation for dinner (which was alrady fully booked !), we could not enjoy the breakfast and dinner, however, we could enjoy local restaurant and cafe ! As the value of parador, everything was excellent and fit to our expectation !
None !
This is a lovely parador. They do a nice breakfast with a made to order hot entree.
The bed and pillows were a little firm for me but that is just my personal preference.
The building is beautiful. Location great and a good price.
There is no restaurant there should at least be a bar. One of the things I love is taking in the beauty of paradores with a coffee or glass of wine. Unfortunately this parador misses the mark.
I LOVE Paradores! Everyone who goes to Spain should experience staying in a Parador!! The facility is full of Spanish history and elegance and so was our room. Just wonderful. Breakfast was excellent and I love how Paradores give every guest their own tongs to grab their own food at the buffet!! This Parador had a museum in the hotel which was very fun.
We came in on foot walking the Camino and we had a bit of a hard time finding the Parador. There are two in Santo Domingo. de la Calzada.
Helpful staffs! We had a luggage delivery problem, front desk receptionist Miguel helped us contact and solve it. Thank you very much Miguel! We really appreciate!
Facilities were immaculate and very stylish. Staff was very helpful. Great value for a Parador.
it was historic and pretty - but i would not stay again unless the sewer smell was gone (see below)
this place had a sewer smell all throughout the property and it was rather gross :( i was worried it would be in my room but it was not until the next morning- when i started to smell it in my room and i packed up and left immediately also the eggs they make you in the morning are not fresh eggs- they are boxed eggs or some other kind of eggs in a cartoon as they taste funny. i stayed at another parador (guadalupe) and they used the same not fresh eggs. for the cost of this place and the niceness of the breakfast buffet this really surprised me.
The Parador we stayed in was beautiful. Unfortunately the other Parador very nearby at the Cathedral was full. The one we were in didn’t offer a restaurant or bar. Only breakfast which we didn’t try because there were several good cafes nearby for coffee and croissants. The beds were superb and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The front desk staff spoke English which was great.
We had dinner in the other Parador near the cathedral and we highly DO NOT recommend it. Our veal and lamb dishes were awful and we sent them back. Even though the restaurant was only half full, the staff were overwhelmed and didn’t give us good service. The same for the bar. We never got served at our table and had to go to the bar for service and wait. They were simply understaffed.
I loved: That they took my bag when I arrived early. My room was ready early. The artwork, window frames, and the attention to detail.EVERY ROOM HAS A TUB! ( a blessing on the camino!)It was pristinely clean. The town is PRECIOUS and so walkable and full of yummy food.
The breakfast had very nice options of hot food, but the buffet got a little tired the later you have a reservation.I would have loved to have an onsite bar or cafe. But truly, this place is SO VERY SPECIAL and gets a 10 from me!
What a beautiful hotel off the camino. We took a taxi from Najera to enjoy a quiet place. He rooms were huge and bed was very comfortable. The food in the restaurant for dinner was excellent. Breakfast was great too Thank you so much.
Beautiful and comfortable respite from the Camino with friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious.
No lunch or dinner served here.
Beautiful room, comfortable bed and friendly staff. Great, but expensive breakfast-
The breakfast was the best continental breakfast we have ever been offered. The facility was beautiful and classy. I loved the way the left pieces of the exposed stone to honor the buildings rich history.
Gorgeous property. Historic building, well decorated with real art and antiques. It is a great place to stay!
No restaurant service except for breakfast. ?
beautiful quiet room in a historic building.
A simple bar in the property would be appreciated.
Historic building. Modern room. Comfortable bed.
No facilities on the premises
We love this hotel . First for the amazing building it’s in . Personally we like it better then the other Parador in town . Nice rooms in historic buildings. Clean and comfy beds . A bathtub is a nice bonus while on the Camino .
