- We stayed at Landgoedhotel Villa Vennendal from October 4-5, 2025, and it was an absolute delight. The hotel's setting is truly magical—nestled right in the heart of the Veluwe forest, surrounded by lush trees, winding paths, and the peaceful embrace of nature. Waking up to birdsong and stepping out for a morning walk through the woods felt like stepping into a fairy tale. The grounds are impeccably maintained, offering that rare sense of tranquility away from the hustle and bustle. Our room was comfortable and spotless, with a cozy, rustic charm that complemented the surroundings perfectly. The breakfast was fresh and bountiful with local touches. The staff were warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. Honestly, I can't think of any downsides—it's a gem for anyone seeking a nature-infused getaway. Highly recommend!
- the location, staff and breakfasts were great.
Cons -
- Lighting for reading was poor.
- It would be a nice improvement to add some modern touches, like air conditioning and a coffee machine in the rooms, to make it even more inviting.
- Lodge No. 74 was ill equipped. The bathroom has no cabinets for toiletries. Just a small shelf. The room has very little storage. For example, there wete no bedside cabinets for storage. Just blocks. There were no dressers for clothes, just a small closet to hang up stuff.

The location is Great. The staff was incredible helpful and friendly. The pool clean.
There was no air-conditioning in room. And no tea or coffee options in room.
Beautiful location, tasty breakfast, cozy room, great pool and relaxing sauna.
We mentioned we're celebrating a special occasion and hoped for a small romantic gesture from the staff, like romantically folded towels or something, but zero attention was payed to this.
Amenities were excellent. We had a very nice weekend with all comforts you could think of. It's located in a beautiful surrounding, with a good view of nature. The stay felt calm and relaxing. Overall, neglecting a few minor complaints, the experience was extremely enjoyable and I would absolutely come back to the same place.
The rooms themself are not super special, and unfortunately the shower was not well separated from the bathroom, so after a shower the entire bathroom is wet.
The room was comfortable but outdated, there was a fan but an airco would have been much better (but probably not allowed?). The breakfast was good, the table reserved for our group 11 was very much appreciated. The location was relaxing, in an old villa and in a very green environment
The room style is outdated, too little power outlets near bed, temperature in the room, how you turn on the light for the bathroom
Location: great in a green area, breakfast: basic but good, room: a bit outdated, no airconditioning. Hotel look-and-feel: nostalgic, romantic
Service at the hotel bar: took very long for taking orders and delivering them
Nothing. Very old torn down building with very unhygienic room conditions. Too small bathroom with no heating. No drinking water or glasses in the room.
Racism. They treat the guests differently depending on the color of the skin.
The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful, we went on walks in the forest and rented a bike at the visitor centre for a day and it was lovely. The staff was very friendly and tried to help us whenever we had questions.
The service at the restaurant was very slow, we booked previously 2 dinners at the restaurant (3-course meal) and after the fist night we wanted to cancel the following day because we were very unhappy with how slow it was, unfortunately, we couldn't cancel since we booked it through booking and had already paid for it. We complained and they made a note for the next day and still not much improved, we didn't even get a complementary bread or a drink during the meals for all the waiting we did. The front desk people offered us some tea after dinner which was nice but to be honest I wouldn't have food there again, the price-quality was really not worth it for me. The staff was friendly and nice but the kitchen was VERY VERY VERY slow and there was no updates on the food unless we asked for it.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room's atmosphere was lovely and the surroundings are beautiful.
Breakfast is delicious. We made used of the swimming pool and sauna after our 25km hike. Friendly and helpful staff. Stunning location and nature is on your doorstep. Beautiful room.
Our mattresses were a bit too soft, but everything else were fine.
Being in the woods. The quirky style of the grand old building. Free swimming pool.
Receptionist were very friendly, but other staff didn't seem so welcoming or accommodating. Breakfast staff could greet guests when they enter, and bar staff don't need to get their coats on before guests have left. The sauna didn't seem to work.It wasn't easy finding our lodge the first night. Better low-level lighting and numbers visible from the path would help.
Liked the location - it was remote and in the forest.
We stayed at Landgoedhotel Villa Vennendal from January 21-23 and unfortunately had a very poor experience. The family cabin was filled with mold, making it difficult to breathe unless we kept the windows and doors open.To make matters worse, we were abruptly awakened early one morning by loud drilling on our cabin. Someone was drilling near the bedroom and then moved to the living room, which lasted for 20-25 minutes. This not only jolted us out of bed but also caused us to miss breakfast as we tried to contact the hotel to understand what was happening. Unfortunately, the hotel never contacted us to provide an explanation and confirm the issue was solved. At check-out, we raised the issues again. While the staff refunded the missed breakfast, they said they couldn’t do anything further because we had booked through Booking.com. We’re still waiting for a response from Booking.com.What stood out as most frustrating was the lack of acknowledgment from the hotel. A simple apology note or some small gesture to address the drilling inconvenience would have gone a long way. Instead, the staff seemed more focused on figuring out which contractor was responsible than addressing the impact on our stay.We chose this property for a quiet, relaxing time in the woods, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Hopefully, future guests won’t face similar issues. However, if you have a mold allergy, I’d strongly recommend staying elsewhere.
Great location. The cafe and terrace are great.
It is a bit confusing to get aroundwhen your room is in the annex and not in the main hotel
The swimming pool! I don't know why but I was the only one there so I felt like a mermaid queen ?The water pressure in the shower was also amazing! Best shower that I've had in the Netherlands in the last 6 years!
The ashtray on my balcony was used and the table on the balcony was a bit dirty because of it. I also missed hair conditioner. For a 4 stall hotel would have been nice to have more toiletries.Another point that is mentioned by many: sound isolation. I heard everything what was discussed in the hall by others even with a closed door (luckily I always travel with earplugs). Otherwise I enjoyed my stay and these little things are a good points for improvement.
Generally, the accommodation is good. Good bed, toilet and cleanliness.
The building structure is very old like opening of the door is with keys, my room is on a corridor like school hostel which passerby can see you enter or leave your room. I would recommend a wall to shade and provide some privacy and enhance security for guests.
Location is great. But they need to upgrade their rooms and offer some variety for breakfast. They just alternate the same two main courses. Staff is great and very helpful. Wonderful indoor heated pool.
Breakfast needs more varietyNeed electrical plugs in bathrooms.Needs soap in shower.Magnifying mirrors are too high
The room was perfectly clean. A little dated with some warn spots, but clean and nice! Breakfast was very well despite that there were a lot of people attending. Refills came abundant so everyone could have a perfect breakfast with enough to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I can't think of anything that i did not like.
Room was great with a very nice view, the bathroom was a bit tight but nothing that could dampen the experience. Breakfast was absolutely excellent.
A/C would be a nice improvement but it may have just been that it was unseasonably hot when we were there.
