Quiet, relaxing, great location, lovely view of sea, nice pool area, comfortable sunbeds and appreciated the fridge in the room. I would stay there again and recommend to solo travellers as well as to couples.
Clean tidy and lovely pool right by the beach. Down quite alot of steps. Very helpful staff
Fabulous, friendly, small family run hotel. Roberto, the owner (and receptionist, cook, porter, night porter and much more!!) Couldn't do enough for us.All the staff were very helpful. We had a fabulous ground floor room with pool views and it was very comfortable. There was a kettle and tea and coffee making facilities, with the coffee etc being refilled daily. The bed was very nice, the bathroom was great. Had a hairdryer in it, towels were changed every couple of days. We did have to ask for toilet roll once towards the end of the stay, as it wasn't replaced. Breakfast was great, fabulous choice of continental breakfast, but we were also offered bacon and scrambled or fried eggs. The location is brilliant, a short walk to the town centre and bars and restaurants. A slightly longer walk down to the beach, but well worth it!We were there at the end of September and Cala n Porter more or less closes at the end of October, so everywhere was winding down. Very beautiful place. Would definitely recommend.
My only concern is that drinks were served in actual glasses around the pool area. Whilst I understand that it's adult only, accidents do happen and it could close the pool for a day or two if the worst occurred.
Lovely rooms, great views, excellent breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Perfect.
Beds were very comfortable and room was clean. Bathroom was a bit small but there was plenty of hot water.Breakfast was very good.
The sunbeds were so uncomfortable and there were no matresses for them. The pool towels were very small and thin. The pictures showed nice sofas & chairs outside with thick cream cushions but they were put away. However the grounds were very pretty.
The location The beds The airconThe quietLydia on Reception all great!
The awful attitude of the owner, totally lost the love, or just doesn't like English. The restaurant was not open on any of the 10 days we visited. When asked on a rainy day if food was available he said there wasn't enough people to open and that there was other restaurants only 5 minutes away. No hospitality whatsoever. Extra charges advertised everywhere. Extra £3 for a clean towel on the days they werent changed. Fine for £20 eating food not purchased from the hotel in the outside area (no food except breakfast available). Double check when booking re breakfast as its an additional cost of £15 per person or if have everyday its £12 per person. Some old Sunbeds uncomfortable. New ones rock hard, not really suitable for the older clients. Swimming pool freezing. Decor in need of updating. Carpets in hall and stairs dirty. Ladies, no room in the wardrobe to hang dresses. No drawers as such. No mirror above dressing table. Lighting bad. Too dark, one light didn't work and reported this on the first day, didn't get resolved. Housekeeping intermittent cleaning. I could go on. No bar as such (not manned) tbh we didn't bother as we didn't want to give any more money to the Hotel than necessary.
Good
They messed up with my booking and had to send me to another hotel for one night.
Clean, quiet, great location
Location was spot on'- very quiet - loads of choice for sunbeds....nice size bed liked tea making facitites
Grumpy bloke running it charges for exverthing poor service around pool as in non existence shower was broketea bags not replensished
The property had a good location, and lovely views.
Carpets on the stairs were dirty, no cushions for sun beds which made them very uncomfortable , you were charged for everything, notes in bathrooms about charging for clean towels if you wanted them every day, notes on every table by the pool stating if you eat your own food you will be charged, if you wanted a pool towel you were charged. If you were a good enough establishment you would not need to do this.
The exceptional friendly staff! Really good breakfast! The location was really nice - a lot of stuff going on and a lot of great restaurants around!
A friendly quiet Hotel close to all amenities.
Was just short of a comfortable sitting area indoors. There was some comfortable seating but would have been better in a sunnier area.
amazing friendly helpful staff, the room was cleaned every day.lovely pool, lovely sized bed, great room, liked how it was adults only, big pool area with enough sun loungers and parasols, great location with views across the cove
there was nothing we didnt dislike so i suppose the only thing i could be dissapointed by is that wasnt doing pizzas any longer
Great location very central
Fridge was very small considering it was self catering
The location is perfect 15 mins from Mahon. Check in very quick, there no lift but there is only 2 floors. Room nice size with balcony, comes with fridge, kettle and tea and coffees. Tv, large bed which was a bit hard but slept very well. Bathroom with small bath but had a shower. Was cleaned every day change of towers every 2 days. Swimming pool is massive and has about 20 sun loungers some with umbrellas. No sun bed wars. Beautiful view of the town and the beach. Lovely family run hotel which is 3 star.
Bed was a bit hard.Sun loungers could do with not being too hard to lay on.
This is a really unique little hotel in a stunning location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are cleaned everyday and the air-conditioning is effective. It's very relaxed with no rushing to the pool to secure a lounger. The views from the terrace where we had breakfast were stunning. It's quite a unique experience these days to stay in a small family run hotel.
This isn't a complaint but it would have been good to have the option to order some light snacks or sandwiches at lunchtime.
Amazing view of the cove from the restaurant. Didn’t get to eat at the restaurant because it was closed during our stay - not sure why since it was peak season. Staff was accommodating.
Our first room was a top floor comer room overlooking the street with a large balcony. The property’s wifi didn’t reach the room and the bathroom had a strong musty odor. They weren’t able to move us to a different room right away but they did move us the next day to a pool facing room. Wifi worked just fine there and the bathroom smell was better but it was still there. I’m not sure if it’s an issue with the plumbing in the property or the plumbing in the town.
