Pros +
- The room itself, the bathroom, the parking and all of that stuff was great.
- Spacious room, lovely big shower, hosts very friendly and helpful. We will stay again next time we are in Bilbao.
- Staff, Room, cleanliness, breakfast, location for the ferry port and value for money.
Cons -
- The big problem with this place is it is located extremely close to a large oil refinery, and the smell from the oil refinery is with you 100% of the time. Otherwise, it is a great hotel, but the refinery smell almost completely ruins it.
- The industrial area nearby.
- The hotel has no restaurant (of which in fairness I was aware) which would be of no concern if there were other restaurants within walking distance. The last thing the weary traveller wants to do is to get in the car again to drive to and from a restaurant in another village. Ideally a small restaurant in the hotel or in Muskiz would remedy this issue. The second note of caution concerns the nearby vast oil refinery, located within a kilometre of the hotel. There is an odor, albeit not offensive on my visit. Clearly the hotel can do nothing about this refinery which dominates the landscape.

The industrial area nearby.
A beautiful hotel, the room is combination of wood & stone. Large, luxurious bathroom, comfortable beds. So far, the best accomodation on the Camino. Plus, the breakfast was very good :)
This property is a gem and would have achieved a straight 10 save for two issues (see below). My room on the second floor was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. Both bedroom and bathroom had delightful window seats. The bathroom was a joy in itself, spacious, with a fantastic shower and all other facilities. I would particularily recommend this hotel for those taking an early morning boat from Bilbao the next morning. The ferry port is only 15 minutes drive from the hotel.Breakfast also good.Secure parking within gates. The hotel is within 10 minutes of the nearby beautiful Arena beach.

The kindness of the staff and how clean and comfortable the room was.
Just in front the hotel there's a huge petroleum plant that diminishes the stay at some point.
They allowed me to check in at 0900 when I arrived. I was sick and had just been told I could not stay at the nearby albergue. Their hospitality is unmatched
Lovely hotel which surpassed our expectations, lovely family run hotel which was clean, comfortable and we were made feel at home
Lovely clean quiet hotel with comfortable beds.
Hotel was in a great location to the ferry port. Staff were excellent and waited beyond check-in time for me to arrive. The hotel is quirky and absolutely immaculate! Bonus for the secured and gated parking area! Phenomenal value for money!
Perhaps some snacks made available although no big issue.
Friendly, helpful staff. Clean comfortable room. Very convenient near ferry port with secure parking
It was clean
Smell from refinery, room was cold, no food, isolated
Everything about the hotel was fabulous. The decor, the view, the staff, the rooms, the breakfast and of course the lovely receptionist who was very informative and her English was good enough in that we were able to understand her as our Spanish is nearly non existent. The selection for breakfast was very good as well. When we were told the times of the breakfast we picked it up wrong. She gave us a time of 10.30 and we said that would do, but what she was telling us was that it was over at 10.30 am. She was very nice when we apologised and still let us have breakfast.
Nothing springs to mind. Mind you it would have been nice to have dined in the hotel when we arrived but I think 7.00 pm was a bit too late and we didn't see any other diners.
Comfortable, clean, parking, good breakfast.
Adjacent to a massive oil refinery which overwhelms the village in which the hotel is situated and which emits a typical industrial odour.
Beautiful little boutique hotel. Easy to get to the ferry
It only does breakfast. No evening meals and no restaurants within walking distance
It was convenient to the Bilbao ferry port
Poor breakfast. Ghastly surroundings. No where to eat a decent evening meal. The suggestion by the proprietor was disastrous
Good location for ferry service we were using. We were running late, we updated the hotel and they stayed up till 23.30 to greet usVery nice staff, spoke a little English but still better than my SpanishVery happy to stay there again if the need arose.
Breakfast was okay, not a massive choice. Biggest weakness was the ham slices, waterery, no taste. For 7e, not a massive problem
the room was comfy and clean
no decent places to have a good meal
We stayed here the night before the ferry and it was perfect. Lovely little bar for a drink on our last evening in Spain. Beautiful bedrooms. Lovely staff.
The hostess was wonderful. Good breakfast. Homes and house remodeled
