Beautiful old interesting building in a good location.
The hotel seems to have no personnel. There was no one to answer a question, not even via Email. You are really left on your own here.
Rooms and building historic and centrally located
We were excited to see this hotel, renovated from a historic building my partner knew from his childhood (his grandmother lived next door). The pictures and descriptions of rooms looked nice. Coburg is a beautiful city to visit and we planned to stay two days. Communication for the self check-in went smoothly. But we did not get to enjoy a stay there.
Poison air and no ventilation! There was no in-person check-in and we found ourselves assigned to a cellar room with a single small, *non-opening* window, that like, the screenless door, faced the nearby intersection. There was no ventilation system (or AC) - just a heating unit we did not need for a summer stay. Strong chemical fumes hit us right away, and I had an asthma attack. Off-gassing from the new-looking vinyl plank flooring (and likely also the adhesive) all closed up in a warm airless space. We texted the contact that we had to leave the unhealthy space and expected a refund, but we never got replies. I sent complaints to Booking.com and was refunded in a few days. Luckily, we found a better hotel for the night and our sore throats went away, and I recovered. At least some other rooms at the Hahnmuehle had windows. This cellar room should not be a rental! (Cobweb in bathroom too, but I could have lived with that.)
Nice room, location is super on a quiet side street but close to the centre. The day was hot, but in the thick stone walls, it was cool.
Had to wait a moment for the entry code as I hadn't had a chance to fill in the online check in. Nobody is there!
Cheerful historical house, close to the town Center, well equiped, clean.
We would appreciate, if the breakfast would be offered.
The room was very comfortable and clean. The location was excellent, right in the center of the old town. Check in and Check out was so easy.
It is a beautiful historic, tastefully restored hotel with modern facilities. Just off the city centre with quite a lot of private car parking which suited us as we had been driving for 8 hours. The hotel was really accommodating when we had to move our dates by 24 hours as we had car problems before we left the UK. Really comfortable bed and large bedroom with coffee making facilities. Quirky old wooden staircase which is great but could be a problem if you have mobility problems. Really recommend it for a stay in Coburg, we will be returning,
The only down side, which was not really a problem was the lack of 24 reception snd breakfast facilities. The key code system worked well, with details provided 24 hours prior to arrival and for breakfast, we provided fir ourselves.
great place and easy to check in and out! perfect for short stays.
can be a bit noisy on the weekends based on the lication
No staff at any time. No breakfast even though it says breaks buffet on their website
They didn’t even make our beds or clean the room. No breakfast and no staff at all!!
- good communication in advance- easy access to the room key- nice staff/owner- centrally located- parking place nearby
- nothing
Wonderful and unique historical building within walking distance of the old town.
It is a pity that the current Covid situation has reduced all functions to a skeleton crew with little (and difficult - for us at least) human contact. The hotel loses a lot of character this way but we hope this will change soon for them.
very clean, Great Location and parking at the hotel a huge plus.
I understand it’s COVID-19 but we saw absolutely no staff. “Coffee maker” was not an actual coffee maker and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since other guests used it. Since no one was around to ask questions a map of the inner city and a list of dinner dining suggestions would have been helpful. Also, again since no staff were present, a packet of tourist information would have been nice. We eventually found the tourist office but it was closed due to Covid!
Historic building - very spacious and well equipped room - very clean
no breakfast and no contact to any hotel staff feels a bit strange - hopefully not becoming a standard everywhere
Easy check in via code sent via email. Comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Flexible and clear communication with staff.
Unclear check out process (e.g. where to put the registration form or the keys when leaving) as the reception is not staffed. It feels a bit like the whole contactless check in, stay, check out was not thought through 100% from guest perspective.
Great historic house
Online checking did not work
The history have never stayed in a building this old
lovely building and rooms
all facilities in the hotel were closed
