ibis Styles Coburg

This is a large chain hotel, and accordingly, fairly impersonal. Facilities are, as expected, standardised and excellent.The location feels like being up in the treetops, as it has a very attractive terrace next to a wood (but at a raised level), with access from the breakfast room. This gives it some character.This means that (unlike with most chain hotels) we would stay again.The very attractive town centre (no war damage, thanks to royal connection?) is within easy walking distance.

Quiet clean and modern

Service was not really helpful at all. Charged high extra rates compared to standard due to the person amount for family was wrong on the booking page.

Very good location, new clean rooms, with good staff.

Limited quantitz of parking lots, if I arrived after 6:00pm I needed to find parking lot in the city center.

Car parking - if you book on weekend you wont get a park. It usually wouldn’t matter but we had a van with valuable bikes inside and it made it stressful as the park is a few hundred meters away. During the week it was easy to park.

Mis-sold

Advertised booking was a twin room .. no twin room , asked the share a double bed .. rude front room of desk.. helped us to transfer to different hotel after protest !!

Management is disjointed. This ibis has all the elements that SHOULD make it an excellent stay: new hotel, modern facilities, quality furnishings. BUT management is disjointed: some front desk staff don't even greet you, while other members are very friendly, proactive and professional. Some cleaning staff are excellent, while others clean superficially. IF management was better trained to be a world-class hotel, this ibis could win awards. But alas, management isn't present and doesn't really seem to care about the guests. My advice: either train management to reach a professional level or replace them.

It was very clean and our room was cleaned daily. Breakfast was fantastic it exceeded our expectations. Train station was close by and easy to reach. It was also nice to have a grocery store right next to our hotel. The little gym on 3rd floor was also nice addition to our trip. And I wanna offer special thanks to staff for helping with our luggage with it got lost with flight company.

In our opinion it was too expensive for services provided in our room we didn't have refrigerator or even basic stuff like hotel slippers. Hotel doesn't have a lot of stuff which is makes difficult for customers and stuff we kept contacting hotel in beginning of the our stay but nobody replied until we have arrived to hotel.

The three aspects that I liked the most were the cleanliness of both the hotel and the room, the breakfast and the location, which is very close to the center. Another point that I liked was the good, fluid and respectful communication.

Building is not well designed, other guests are weird.

Parking lot dominates the ambiance, the building is just a block like from the 1960s. Bad taste or bad architect??Other guests are weird, not classy at all. Small groups of smoking young men with tattoos that look like drug dealers.

As usual, Ibis Styles is clean, well maintained on suitable location. Free coffe and tea is very nice.
