    Pros +

    • Wonderful old castle hotel with excellent cuisine and lovely garden, Good and safe parking inside the gated hotel area. Excellent and quiet location to visit Pont du Gard, Avignon, Nimes etc
    • Luxury and history combined. Beautiful rooms. Serene gardens. Quaint village. Amazing fine dining. Peaceful. We loved it so much we stayed another night!
    • Beautiful, clean, comfortable

    Cons -

    • All good!!!
    • Be careful with the directions. The GPS doesn't always bring you to the front of the property and the roads are VERY narrow.
    • What completely destroyed our experience was witnessing the appalling treatment of animals on the property. The château keeps chickens, pigs, and a rabbit in what they call a "park," but these animals are confined behind electrical fencing with no informational signage. Most disturbingly, during our stay the rabbit had no access to food or water, and was living in filthy, deplorable cage conditions that would horrify any animal welfare organization. This level of neglect and cruelty is inexcusable and overshadowed every positive aspect of the property. Château de Collias is impossible to recommend due to the shocking and inhumane treatment of animals on the property that completely ruins what should be a luxury experience.

The château itself is genuinely impressive, with amazing rooms that clearly showcase quality and attention to detail. The staff, particularly at reception, were fantastic - professional, welcoming, and attentive to guest needs. Under normal circumstances, this would have been an exceptional stay at a beautiful property.

It’s a charming idyllic hotel that you don’t find anymore. From the greeting (with homemade lemonade) to being accompanied to the room, each aspect of the first day felt like being in a book. The room was beautiful and clean with an amazing view. The first dinner there was such a dream, with little treats surprising us at all times. We needed to add another night and we did.

Everything! Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Gorgeous chateau and gardens. Welcome drink on arrival. Lovely large bedroom that included provisions for our dogs - beds, bowls, treats, poop bags! Lovely bathroom with roll-top bath and comforts - slippers, robe, toiletries etc. Secure garden in which to walk the dogs. Lovely quiet location (apart from the Christmas party down from our room! But we were very tired so managed to sleep through the celebrations). Gorgeous local restaurant within easy walking distance. Lovely breakfast. Secure on-site parking. Chickens and pig in the far garden.

    Having to leave.

Staff is nice. Grounds are beautiful. Area is mostly quiet. In the morning, you hear what sounded like an auto race track but may have been highway.

We spent 2 nights in mid September. Daytime temperatures were in the high 70s and low 80s F. They had already shutdown the air conditioning system so in room you could either turn on heat or not run system. According to sleep authorities, best sleep temperatures are high 60s (68F). The room made sleep difficult. The first night we opened the windows about an hour before shutting lights down, only to find numerous bugs (stink bugs, mostly) had joined us. Additionally, our first morning I found it impossible to get the rain shower shower head to turn on. That was repaied for the next day. And, they have a real problem with keeping adequate water pressure. We've been traveling on the road in France for two weeks. This was supposed to be our treat to ourselves. We do not typically stay at such expensive places. Until staying at the Chateau we had not encountered any of the aforementioned issues. If not for the abolute failings of the room the place would be lovely. As it is, there is more pomp over value or quality.

Wonderfully renovated castle with very nice and authentic rooms, excellent cuisine and very attentive and friendly staff. Beautiful garden and pool area. In the heart of charming little town of Collias near Pont-du-Gard. Highly recommend to do a kayak tour.

My stay at Chateau de Collias was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a charming atmosphere that made us feel like royalty.Location: The chateau is perfectly situated in the picturesque village of Collias, surrounded by the beautifully curated gardens and territory of the chateau, including a vegetable garden, and a few chickens, pig and rabbit. The view from atop their hilltop is breathtaking. Accommodation:Our room was a perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort. The elegant decor, comfortable bed, and very spacious bathroom made for a very relaxing stay. We particularly appreciated the attention to detail. The chateau itself is wonderfully and personally decorated by the hosts, with wonderful mixtures of french baroque with African art (from their travels), and other things in between. Our hosts were the most lovely people, and made us feel like they were passionate about us having an incredible stay, which we did. Additionally, their Michelin-star restaurant has excellent value for money, and wonderful wine pairings with lovely food. I so strongly recommend this place with all my heart, and will return as soon as I can! Thank you!

Nothing, it was truly a perfect stay.

It can't get more classic French chateau hotel experience with attention to detail than this.It is a gated hotel with expansive gardens inside rustic commune of Collias. Extremely photogenic exterior and interior with vintage furniture. Attentive reception staff who couldn't wait to show off the hotel like you were the royalty. Spacious bedroom with luxuriously spacious bathroom with all amenities supplied.Parking safely inside fenced property with charging facility for our electric car.Michelin starred French cuisine terraced dinner with view to garden to complete the ultimate chateau experience.

Wifi connection absent most of the time during my stay, I relied on my SIM roaming instead. It would have been nice if there was a buffet breakfast rather than staff bringing over small amount of random stuff to your table.

A beautiful and charming hotel, it breathes history that can be seen at every step, beautiful old decorations, pleasant receptionists, unique cuisine and a perfect gourmet experience dinner, comfortable beds, comfortable room, there is nothing to complain about.

It was a wonderful stay..from the moment I arrived until I left! Everything was perfect! Beautiful property, amazing view, beautiful room, 5 star service, interesting conversation with an owner. Lovely little details that I don’t want to describe, because it’s better to experience. I had dinner and breakfast, it was delicious. Pool was amazing, and service by the pool fantastic as well. Can’t wait to go there again!

Everything! Gorgeous property with period features, formidable dinner, cosy pool with forest and hills view, quite and peaceful

Amazing place, created with so much attention to detail. The artworks alone…nothing has been spared to make the stay memorable

The restaurant has Michelin aspirations - and prices, but we’re not quite there yet. Wine pairings were great though. Breakfast was a disaster

Excellent facilities in a very cozy small village! Friendly and professional staff. Good restaurant.

Google might be confusing in finding the entrance to the hotel.
