About
Just 5 minutes’ drive from Höfn in south-east Iceland, this hotel is found along Route 1, close to the country’s largest glacier Vatnajökull. Scenic views and local cuisine can be enjoyed in the on-site restaurant, which is open during the summer season. Hotel Jökull's rooms have either private or shared bathroom facilities. Each room features basic décor and furnishings. Some have an in-room sink. Free on-site parking is available at Jökull Hotel. Other facilities include a bar, where guests can relax in after a day of sightseeing. The reception staff will gladly recommend activities, such as hiking in the Skaftafell National Park or Skalafellsjökull glacier. Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon is a 50-minute drive away.

Pros +
- The view from our room.
- We had a cancellation elsewhere so we made the booking late on the same day and staff helped a lot. They even got us a room with a view to the nearby glaciers. The hotel and room exeeded our expectations. The brerakfast was very good too.
- The staff was friendly. The place was clean.
Cons -
- No phones. No refrigerator. We booked through Booking.com, so we did not get the free breakfast listed on their website for "every room". Very poor lighting; we had to put the tiny lamps on a stack of towels to be able to read (uncomfortably) in bed, as there was no suitable lighting for reading in the room. Small room with no place to put things; cramped area required us to move items multiple times. Loud, early morning banging from the tour groups which frequent this hotel (probably because of their relatively low rates). Dinner was very slow; it took one hour to get our food and there were only a handful of people in the restaurant. My food was cold and the portions ridiculously small (the hotel took 30% off my meal, but it was still overpriced for the portions served). I assume these three problems were related to the impending arrival of the tour buses, which took over the restaurant when they got there (48 people at once). We were there two nights. I thought about sleeping in my car the second night. Be forewarned, this is a glorified hostel more than a low price hotel.
- Refrigerator is not available in the hotel room. Expensive for a hotel that need to share the bathroom and restroom.
- stay was too short to enjoy the whole area

had a family room in an adjacent building. quiet. though we had windows exposed to the garden and that also meant to hotel guests outside our room.
stay was too short to enjoy the whole area
Modern installations, friendly staff and great location!
Although the bedroom was very spacious and comfortable the bed was really soft (which gave us back pain the next day) and the shower was overflowing so our bathroom looked like a pool after taking a bath.
Good location
Too many lights for Northern Light viewing. Should be something that can turn off the lights in the parking lot after a certain time
Room is crazy good and big and smells amazing (I've read some bad reviews about the smell but I really liked it). Shower is huge too.Dinner is very delicious.Great staff, they let me keep my food in their fridge, and the waiters were nice.
The walls are thin you can hear people outside your room. The bed's mattress was so soft it sinks when you lay on it, and the pillows were too thin. Luckily there were 4 pillows in the room, so i stacked a couple up under my head.Note that you shouldn't open the windows because midges would get in, so the room is hot. I had my portable fan with me, and I'm thankful for that.Dinner is great but quantity is really ridiculous. Dessert recommended by the waitress was tasteless, but the waitress was nice.
Very nice hotel right in the heart of Vik. Breakfast was great and the dining area was beautiful with gorgeous views. The room was perfect and comfortable.
Everything was great.
Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. The bed was comfortable. We were able to play cards in a common area with our friends in the evening. The staff was helpful.
The bathroom only had a curtain around the shower area. So the entire bathroom was soaked after a shower. We could have eaten dinner there, but chose to drive into Hofn. It definitely was not walking distance away.
Great location, room was clean and close to bathroom.
Walls were thin, so we could hear neighbors throughout the evening. Every hour or so the pipes near the sink would make a loud gurgling noise. Alarm in hallway went off in the evening. Wall outlets were far away from the bed and high up on the wall making it hard to use the water kettle and charge phones
Good location, good value and the staff were great.
Me and my husband had nothing bad to say about this property and our stay.
Nice hotel with spacious rooms just outside of Höfn.
It was slightly more expensive than some of the other accommodation in Iceland ; which is in general quite expensive)
Free parking and breakfast is good, Big room size and friendly staff.
Clean, comfortable accommodation with an amazing buffet breakfast included. Showers were spacious and beds were comfortable. Great option to accommodate 4 people. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the hotel is close to downtown for more dining options. Ample parking that is included in the stay.
Great rooms, nice view.
If breakfast is not included, don’t purchase it. It’s expensive for continental breakfast. Only protein available was hard boiled eggs, sardines, salame, and yogurt. The rest is bread, pastries and fruit. Might as well go get breakfast at a restaurant for the same price.
Don’t like it at all. The property don’t tell you share bathroom at all.
This Property should not call a hotel. This is a hostel because share bathroom. Also over charge.
The size of room was great. Location of hotel was not bad too.
The windows were almost not possible to open to refresh air. Overall, the hotel was not bad but too expensive for what it provided.
Good Breakfast, Great staff and location
We had a triple room which was very spacious. Beds were comfortable, large bathroom and nice experience overall. Only 5-10 minutes to Hofn.
Good staff, clean facility, good location
Everything was good
