- Small blankets, dusty carpet, no one told us that we need to request room cleaning ahead of time, front desk was empty or closed most of the times, no hot water at night time, breakfast needed to be requested a day before.

Very poor
We arrived after the reception was closed already and the entrance door locked (at 22:30). We proceeded with online check-in via machine at the entrance. After completing the check-in forms and making the payment, the machine displayed our room number, but no other information (i.e. no key card, no code etc.) and it proceeded with a "Thank you!" message on the screen. While we were puzzled about the glitch, some other hotel guests opened the door, and we decided to go inside in the lobby waiting for some confirmation email. At the lobby we were "greeted" by a hotel employee/owner(?) claiming we broke in in the hotel illegally ?! and threatening to call the police and kick us out. I never faced such rude behavior. Not only did we receive no service/instructions after paying for the night (ok, glitches do happen, no big deal!), but being treated as burglars was just completely inappropriate. At the end we did receive a refund for the stay, but the whole drama was totally unnecessary
The location being so near to the train station and on the pretty side of the city is a bonus.Breakfast was good
Just one little thing, I left on Saturday morning just before breakfast time and asked if I could have a coffee. The coffee machine was on, but the manager said no, even though I paid for breakfast for the entire week. Not very hospitable.

A new B&B Hotel in Gotha, in a strategic place close to the railway station and in walking distance to the castle & historic centrum. The equipment is minimalist (as expected), just fine for an overnight stay.
I had no sleep: in a single room a blanket of 190x120 cm for an adult person (close to 2 meters) is just ridiculous, the more that it was in December ... The receptionist told me in the morning that the blankets are standard size, but the next night I stayed in another B&B in Erfurt and there their standard was different & fine.
2 chairs and a table, 12:00 checkout.
No restaurants nearby, Didn't seem to be anyone else staying there.
Close to railway station and other public transport. Adequate facilities on site including a lift to higher floors. Room pretty much as expected for this chain of hotels.
Old-fashioned and dreary interiors in public areas. Receptionist on arrival could not speak English (but then I can't speak German!). (Receptionist on departure could speak English.) General air of mustiness - notices said the hotel was being renovated but no sign of this while I was there.
