Hotel am Schlosspark

Bilingual staff were friendly and helpful for English speakers. Their 24-hour front desk accommodates check in for whatever train you arrive on, which is not the case in other Gotha lodgings. A daily flyer of local events and points of interest is fun.

The hotel website could be just a bit more clear on how to get from the train station to the hotel: best walking route, a time/distance estimate, and whether it is safe to walk on the street cutting through the park at night. Are taxis available?

The location is perfect for visiting the Schloss and the park. The property is absolutely charming, attention to detail is great. Staff are helpful and pleasant.

Breakfast was wonderful, with many delicious options. The "Orangery-feel" of the dining area was so bright and sunny...beautiful!My room and bathroom were spacious and clean and I had a nice view of the park. (Some rooms do not face the park)Location was great...across from Schloss Friedenstein and within easy walking distance of Old Town and restaurants. Very nice and safe area.

Wifi on my phone would cut out occasionally, but it seemed that the wifi on my computer did not have as much of a problem.

It was an excellent hotel in a quiet area about fifteen minutes walk from the city centre and twenty minutes walk from the station. Very friendly and welcoming. Excellent bedroom with tea/coffee making facilities and a good bathroom. The Breakfast buffet was excellent and the evening meal in the restaurant was beautifully prepared, well presented and very tasty.

From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were captivated by the hotel's charm and elegance. The hotel’s prime location added an extra layer of allure to the stay.

The room was too warm, I couldn't find the air conditioner.

The staff at the reception was not really kind, rather the kind of "robot-friendliness" if you know what I mean. Also, the sauna closed at 8:30pm and the staff was not willing to open it for us when we arrived at 8:30. Admittedly, that is not the kind of "service" I usually experience in 4* hotels...

The big pro about this hotel is that is situated right next to the schloss park and is also close to the city center. everything in Gotha is at a walking distance. We also enjoyed breakfast on the beautiful terrace, with the very fresh air of the area. Lots of green plants, flowers, very well cared for by the hotel staff.

The breakfast was ok, very clasic with quite few options. The hotel was a little bit under our expectations, considering the price. The hotel is very classic and suited for older people who come here to rest. It is not something the hotel can improve as it is very well suited for the tourists that usually come and stay in this area.

Very nice comfy Hotel in the centre of Gotha with less than 5 minutes walking distance to downtown and the castle. The staff was super friendly. And I can also recommend the Hotel restaurant serving local and typical thuringian food but in a modern way.

In general a double bed should not be two beds pushed together. They were very nice beds, but when trying to snuggle and other things, someone falls in the crack. Between the beds that is.

The rooms are large, modern and clean. The location could not be better. The restaurant is also great.
