    Pros +

    • Location was good, right by the train station.
    • The location is perfect if you are arriving by train. You just walk a few feet across the plaza from the station. The staff were wonderful and speak good English.
    • We LOVED this hotel. The staff were excellent and helpful. The rooms were spacious and affordable and the breakfast was amazing.

    Cons -

    • The reception was in the dining room. It said that services like the bar would be open until midnight. At 10:30pm the bar was already closed and the reception was not manned. No person or staff member could be found. Very disappointing. Bathroom was tiny with a very small shower. Parking is charged extra and not included in the price. Also the parking situation is confusing because you have to park somewhere to get inside the hotel to get your parking assignment so basically you have to pay for parking twice.
    • The room did not have a microwave, probably because they want you to go to the restaurant downstairs. Charlie's is a great restaurant.Small bottles of Coke were not available. (You can buy a big one if you talk to the right guy.)
    • No AC but you can open windows

Tasty breakfast. Friendly (and handsome ;-)) staff, we felt very welcome. Comfortable and spacious room and bathroom.

The city of Nordhausen itself is not the nicest city with a huge amount of immigrants. Which is not the fault of the hotel off course.

Great location across from the main train station and Harz Bahn Railway, and a couple blocks from restaurants and shopping. We had a good dinner at an Indian restaurant 2 blocks away. Hotel is clean and comfy, with nice decor. The layout of the triple room was a bit wonky, but big enough for us and our 12-year-old for one night. The bathroom was small (shower doors fold in so you can use the sink). Nice big windows for ventilation. Good breakfast, though a bit pricey. Overall, it was a good choice for a 1-night stay before our Harz Bahn steam train trip the next day.

Nice oldie hotel in the theme of Charlie Chaplin right opposite train station

    Air con not cooling

Everything was top notch from the clerk that greeted us to breakfast in the morning. We were especially pleased with the opportunity to stay in one of the small houses in their Tiny House Resort. It was new, fresh and well outfitted. We would enjoy staying there again!

    There wasn’t anything…

Great location, nice rooms, fabulous (if expensive) breakfast, excellent restaurant food.

    Exceptional

WiFi is kind of slow if there are many people using it. Some nights you can stream at HD and some nights even 144p struggles.

Creative rooms, clean, good location and excellent restaurant.

    Parking was odd.

Great staff. Fantastic breakfast buffet. Really cool "tiny house" accommodation, right across from train station.

Hard to get out of bunk bed during the night if you're on the inside.

The bed was comfortable and there was a good selection for breakfast. A bed (unfortunately too small) was also provided for our dog in the room, including food and water bowls.

The heating didn't work, and we weren't informed about it when we checked in. This meant it was cold at night, especially in the bathroom. The next morning, we spoke to the staff. They said that it would take a week for someone to come to fix the problem. There was no apology and no compensation.Despite being a public holiday (Christmas), breakfast was only served until 10 a.m. While we were still eating breakfast, the staff around us were already frantically setting up the empty tables for lunch, even though we had finished before 10 a.m. This made it impossible to have a relaxed breakfast.

This hotel is right across the street from the Bahnhof. Couldn't be more convenient. We were impressed with this facility for its price. It stand out as one of the best hotels we have seen close to a train station.

Can't remember anything we didn't like. We found the location perfect, and we would return to this hotel in the future.

    9RickPosted on: 11-16-2024

Beautiful hotel! Very close to the train station. Very modern decor inside. Great food. Large elevator.

No TV in our bedroom. No refrigerator in our room.Heating system is very hard to operate. No instructions. No room service on the first day. We had to ask for it.

    9StuartPosted on: 10-22-2024

Very quick and efficient check in. A clean and tidy room and spacious bathroom. The biggest plus was the adjoining restaurant, good food, good and good service.

    8NicholasPosted on: 10-7-2024

Excellent continental buffet breakfast with a very wide and varied selection. Friendly, helpful staff. Hotel was in a convenient location just a short walk from the DB and HSB railway stations, which was very useful as I arrived and departed by train and used both the DB and HSB train services to explore the Harz mountains region during my stay. Hotel has a beautiful period interior with clean and comfortable rooms and an excellent bar and restaurant. As I had advised the hotel that I would be arriving late in the evening to check in to the hotel the staff had left my room card in a key safe outside the entrance and sent me the pin number to open this by text message.

I could not find anything much to fault about the hotel or the service from the staff.
