Pros +

  • It is mostly smart and not too many guests so didnt feel overcrowded. Secure and safe . Staff tried really hard to please and dealt with our initial issue re room location and outlook reasonably well . Happy they eventually decided to upgrade us to a villa that had the outlook as per photograph on the sea view villa pictured on Booking.com . Chef .. Marco was a delight . Ambassadors seem stretched but friendly. Food was very good and drinks variable but acceptable. Service is good .Villas are private & well equipped.
  • The rooms, dinner with Chef Marco and the cooking demo class, and the kindness and attention of the hotel personnel were exceptional. The drinks are well made. The gardens and flowers are beautiful and well maintained. The beach is beautiful. This was our first super relaxed vacation without any rush to do any activity/tour.

Cons -

  • Relaxed but lacks finesse? It feels like the resort has been assembled in a hurry and it lacks style and soul . Interior finishings need attention . Villas are good but finishes are cheap eg soil pipes left exposed in garden areas . Villa was expensive and said it had a sea view and the picture confirms this but we were initially put in a villa with garden view and very restricted sea view so do check exactly what you have booked . After a little discussion the hotel manager moved us to a sea view villa at no extra cost but i did have to stand my ground on the basis of misrepresentation . Initially asked for a further $600 for 4 nights ? Food is very good but again Restaurant lacks soul . No fine finishings .Paintings or soft furnishings . Souless! . Villas finishings are poor . Mattress and bed not that comfy . Ambassador service is good but lacks finesse and you do feel your putting the Ambassador to trouble ( they are stretched) ? Beach is cosy and beds close to each other. Only one boat ( cat ) and a few kayaks and paddle boards . Trips expensive and nothing inclusive to get off resort . Hoped to get to snorkel in clear water and seas off a reef but nothing available ( all expensive ) Five days stayed and hoped to feel more relaxed than i did ? Its hard to put into words what is missing but it really is not 5 star . 4 maybe ?
  • There could be more snacks in the room. More night entertainment before & after dinner could be nice too.
