Pros +
- Very helpful personnel. Easy parking behind the hotel. Lovely street, pretty easy walk into historic center.
- Good breakfast, spacious and clean rooms, great location (right by the Hbf and the old town is easy to reach), friendly and helpful staff.
- The hotel is close to the railway station where we dropped off our luggage and walked to the old town (around 15 min walking). The staff is helpful. Breakfast is excellent.
Cons -
- I prefer rooms without carpet but this was ok.
- One thing to be cautious about is that the lobby closes at some point in the evening (not sure of the exact time), so late check-in might require some extra arrangements. Most likely, this can be resolved by contacting the hotel in advance.Since this information is specified at the time of booking, it’s not really a drawback but rather something to be aware of.
- We got a room facing the main street. It was a little bit loud.

Kind welcome and efficient service by reception desk staff, comfort and cleanliness of room and common areas, practical location near the train station
We took a short getaway to Stralsund for my birthday. The weather was absolutely rotten, but this place warmed us right up. Very close and convenient to the train station, and from there we were able to take a short, if blustery, walk to the old town over the water. Room was very cozy and warm with a nice view over the water to the old town. The staff were incredibly nice and welcoming, and even though I didn't tell them, they must have seen on my registration it was my birthday and the cleaning staff left birthday wishes and a lovely and delicious homemade marzipan in the room for me. We ended up buying even more with our 10% discount -- delicious. Really a gem, and very affordable!
We were upgraded to a family room. It was spacious and comfortable.
The wifi was problematic for us, it was below the standard we expected.
Comfortable hotel very close to the station. Helpful staff and spacious room.
This hotel has many strengths to recommend it but lacks several key services (more about those later). The location is ideal: just meters away from the main train station and in a spot that yields a lovely view of Stralsund’s soaring church spires. The rooms, gorgeously furnished in woodgrain with rich red fabric, have large windows that admit a glorious amount of light and are comfortably carpeted rather than being floored in industrial tile or cold hardwood — these details contributing to a warm, welcoming feeling. My particular room was commendably equipped with a real shower rather than one of the unfortunate shower/tub combos that are common in German hotels. Breakfast, with a full set of options, is served in an attractive, sunlit room. The staff vary from politely professional to sincerely friendly, and the hotel owners are definitely receptive to guest concerns. I stayed here for five nights and would have rated it 10/10 on those strengths. However, the absence of several critical features (1. No laundry service; 2. No air conditioning; 3. A late breakfast start at 7:00) detracted from the experience, particularly because guests who travel light on luggage rely on hotel laundry to avoid the encumbrance of surplus clothing, and laundry services are so common nowadays — even in budget hotels, let alone at mid-priced properties — that one no longer bothers to confirm this perk in advance.
The most significant shortcoming of this hotel is the absence of a laundry service. This forces a guest to source a laundromat on his own, and if that shop shuts its doors early, then laundry chores can upend two travel days in a row (one day to drop off the clothing, then another to pick it up). As for AC, I was aware in advance that the Jungfernstieg had none but speculated that it might not be required at such a northerly latitude and was proven right (though were a heat wave to come, matters might be different). The 7:00 breakfast time is unfortunate, though, being between half an hour and a full hour later than the majority of German hotels. This delayed start can force a traveller to choose between ditching an early day-trip train or giving up on the hotel Frühstück. To its credit, the hotel did allow me to enjoy a partial breakfast at 6:30 on a morning when catching an early train was imperative, but not every breakfast option was ready at that time — and one hates interfering with the breakfast staff as they prepare for their regular start. And when 7:00 does come around, a host of waiting guests throng into the breakfast room, which immediately becomes quite busy, so the desire for an earlier start is evident. The breakfast varies from good to very good based on what sort of meat offering accompanies the scrambled eggs, from bacon or Würstchen on better days to rather basic hot-dog-style wieners on others. The reception and common room close at 22:00, though key-card entry to the stairway/elevator is still possible. I lacked WiFi in my room for 3 days due to a faulty router but the owner took the concern seriously, sourced the required part, and compensated me with free breakfast for the WiFi-less days (a considerate gesture); and after the fix, the WiFi worked perfectly. Of these minor negatives, I consider the lack of laundry service to be the most regrettable, especially as weighed against this hotel’s many strengths.
The staff were very helpful and it was very short walk from the train station. The free marzipan chocolate was nice.
A quiet hotel, although at breakfast it was clear it was full, yet only a pleasant walk to the old town. Very efficient, we were expected, our car park space was ready and indicated with our name. The room was spacious, shower and bathroom excellent. A good breakfast, just lacked some croissants.
Pillows a bit soft. Otherwise nothing to complain about at all.
The location is perfect - next to the train station but also near the beach. The staff was very friendly!
The bathroom could've been cleaner. The breakfast was good but it could've been a larger choice.
Very close to train station and city centre. Friendly reception, quiet, comfortable room, and I was able to bring my cat!
All as expected, no negative comments except that there was no piece of marzipan in the room as advertised, but can be bought in the lobby.
Very large room, delicious breakfast.
Lack of air conditioner which makes the room a little hot.
The room is big enough, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was amazing!I didn't communicate with the staff much but they were nice and friendly. The location is hard to beat in case you would like to use the train station, it's less than 5 minutes away by foot.
Great location near station and convenient for old town too. Comfortable room with kettle. Good buffet breakfast.
All was perfect, very clean hotel, spacious and comfortable room, friendly staff, breakfast had all I wished for.
The location was great, a quick 1-2 minute walk to the station.
The beds were somewhat comfortable, but I developed a rash after staying the night, which could have been from the linens. Not sure.
Room was very clean. breakfast was great, and the kitchen was very quiet. staff was very polite as well.
The view was nice towards the city but you have to pay for it. Also parking was available for 9 euros per night.
The shower was cold one day because of a heating failure.
Perfect location (50m to main station), friendly staff, baby cot was provided. Good recommendations for Stralsund restaurants.
Little traffic noise from the nearby street.
