Pros +
- The beauty of the castle and the golf. Food was really good at the restaurant, not really at the golf cafeteria
- We stayed here on route from the UK to the south of France. We stayed here in the summer also whilst travelling in the opposite direction and found that the location suited us perfectly for the kids. Our last stay was good although we found the food that time was extremely average (as last reviews highlight). This trip, we dared to try the restaurant again and were pleasantly surprised but a much improved meal; the escargot were fabulous! We stayed in exactly the same room, a suite with one large king and then a sofa bed which was very comfortable and clean and very large compared to other family rooms we have stayed in. Another noticeable change was the hotel manager. I suspect he might be new but he was incredibly attentive and showed care for the guests and the flexibility that should be seen in a hotel like this. I felt this made a big difference, especially as he spoke perfect English. It seems there are further improvements in the offing so it should only get better. In any event, a good find as it is, in a beautiful building, that accommodated both children and dogs!
- Location, staff and local food
Cons -
- Poor service. Cards to access to our room didn’t work at first. Booked 9:30am massage and was told to come at 9:45am, then massage therapist called me at 9:31am saying I was late for my massage! No service at the pool if we want drink/food. Chairs at the pool really not comfortable, missing pillows or mate. Found dead flies inside my shower
- Staff wasn’t particularly friendly nor helpful.
- Missing a bit of love and carre for the old castle. Terrace area neglected and not cared for.

Location, staff and local food
The chateau is beautiful and full of charm. Restaurant menu is OK but not great. Breakfast is better.
Staff wasn’t particularly friendly nor helpful.
Outstanding hotel superb restaurant and breakfast in lovely countryside location.
Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. The surroundings of the castle are peaceful and expansive.Bed was very comfortable.Bedding and towels were high quality.
Missing a bit of love and carre for the old castle. Terrace area neglected and not cared for.
Absolutely stunning location.. great size room. Comfortable bed. Restaurant was expensive but exceptional. Breakfast buffet was fantastic.
Dog friendly hotel , great location , i ve been there 1 week ago for the 1st time and it was so nice that I ve booked the same hotel on my back home . Friendly staff , beautiful view . Great place if you are a golfer .Great restaurant
Very comfortable room with good, firm beds and an excellent shower. Our room overlooked the courtyard so was very quiet. Staff were all capable and friendly. Certainly a place I would go back to.
Dinner was a disappointment. We were booked into the gastronomic restaurant but this was cancelled at short notice because the chef left abruptly. As a result, we ate in a very crowded basement bistro and the kitchen ran out of poulet de Bresse after we had ordered it (ran out of chicken? How does that happen?). We’ll try again when we hear they have a chef again…
Beautiful place , nice walk around , very near from motorway which is ideal to spend a night . Dog friendly , lovely staff , and beautiful golf course
Bathroom need an upgrade .
Beautiful chateau stunning setting
Room was very corporate Curtains were hanging from the track
Friendly personnel , breakfast was good and plentifull. Excellent resto and top Burgundy wine cellar.
Rooms could do with a refurbishment
Great stay at Hôtel Golf Château de Chailly. The room, staff, and location was perfect.
Dinner at the restaurant was disappointing and the wine was overpriced.
Service. Food
Not enough loungers around the pool
The rooms are date but they are clean and the staff are friendly.
The restaurant was closed would have been nice to be informed before arriving and not have this as a surprised. there was also a 30 min delay on the check in. Some mornings when I was a little late for breakfast the cafe would not refill some of the items anymore which is a shame, the service should be consistent throughout the entire time it is is open. Also took awhile for the facilities to be up and running after the thunder storm.
Dinner, Breakfast, outside seating areas.
Breakfast was very good but too expensive. Swimming pool was excellent! The service was friendly and efficient.
Tennis court was in a poor state. The bedroom needed repair and the blind didn’t work.
Excellent food
A bit shabby in placesDining room very cramped in the basement, particularly at self service breakfast ( constantly being bumped by people trying to get to counters as tables all too close to serving areas) Beautiful rooms upstairs including a restaurant so not sure why we were all crammed in the dark crypt ) Noisy badly behaved children ruined what should have been a lovely evening Staff were excellent but should have requested parents to remove their children when having a tantrum and throwing food on the floor and screaming the place down parents seemed oblivious to the disruption to everyone else’s enjoyment.
Very comfortable, friendly helpful staff, restaurant was good.
No shady places to sit outside of restaurant hours, particularly for having a drink from the bar. Generally grounds looking a bit neglected, maybe a work-in-progress.
This was our third stay, and the hotel upgraded us to a garden suite which was a beautiful spacious room that allowed us to have a private garden access for our dog. When we made the decision to extend our stay for another week, the gentleman at reception was so helpful and accommodating in arranging the cleaners to prioritise our new room to be cleaned first, enabling us to seamlessly transfer to our new room before we even checked out of our former one.The breakfast and dinners are always high quality and the staff overall are very jovial, attentive and helpful, with so many individuals standing out as going above and beyond in every way. This is truly appreciated.
Nothing. It’s perfection.
