Pros +
- Great helpful staff, excellent breakfast, spacious room and balcony facing the woods, awesome heated internal pool
- Worse stay ever, Not a 4 star and not a froendly place for Americans! All flags fown except the USA flag!
- Lovely spa facilities. Good dinner food
Cons -
- Can't complain about anything really
- Upon arrival we saw the Hotel is more a 3 star than a 4. The room was not what we reserved (two twin premium) instead was small and cramped, a full size bed and hardly no room to store cloth, only 2 hangers available ( had to ask for more hangers and they only could provide 4 more with bad facial expressions! The next morning at breakfast the stares of the head lady attending were of unwelcoming which made is feel uncomfortable! Next day found my sheets changed, however with blood on them, which was corrected and a apology accompanied with a bubbly as a “sorry” for the inconvenience! In 3 occasions we found my room “Open” when we returned from a day out (this was also indicated the first time however two more times it happened, very unsettling, we did not feel safe! Most of the staff did not speak English and they demonstrated facial dislike when spoken in English. Overall a very discomforting and uncomfortable experience! BTW no shampoo provided, had to buy and also had to ask for more soap because they did not re-fill? Not friendly in general the worst experience ever! So sad!
- We spent Christmas here. It had what they called a festive menu. The food was good but the atmosphere and the experience was not what I’d call festive

We spent Christmas here. It had what they called a festive menu. The food was good but the atmosphere and the experience was not what I’d call festive
The hotel is at very scenic spot, probably lot better to visit during summer to soak in the natural beauty. The staff at the hotel are very warm and friendly.
A bit far from Colmar if you don't have your own car.
location touches the forest on a hill 15 minutes drive from Colmar (which has excellent parkings).we had a family duplex - perfect for at least a couple and 2 children, spaceous, very well equipped, charming upper floor for the couple.Restaurant is upscaled French, with gourmet little servings, interesting if not too hungrySpa is realy nice although the pool is not warm enough but the rest is excellent. The adjucent forest has nice walking trails
Great spaBig rooms, very cleanOnsite parking Tracking routs available right on the door step
It’s not really disadvantaged, but rather particularities that guests have to have in mind You need to have a car to ensure comfortable stay there - the nearest restaurants are downhill and hardly achievable by foot Hotel restaurant is usually booked for dinner, reservation is needed well in advance, if you did not do it, you should go to nearest city by car again :-)
Lovely big room, very clean, huge windows with lovely view of the forest and Colmar in the distance.Breakfast was good. Spa pool was nice
We didn't eat in the restaurant but did feel the menu was quite limited when we had a browseYou definitely need a car to stay hereSpa pool was perhaps a little cramped
The breakfast was very complete and very good. The staff was very attentive at breakfast. The room and bed and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. The propert was very close and convenient to visit Eguisheim and Colmar . The dinner at the restaurant was very tasty.
The decor at the restaurant was disappointing and sterile. The pool and the sauna and the gym were disappointing. One of the exercise machines was out of order. The pool could have been a lot more heated. The sink in our bathroom did not have a stopper. The staff for the massages are not on site and have to be contracted from elsewhere.
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Clean. Quiet. Forest around.
This is a beautiful spa hotel located above Equisheim. I would highly recommend arriving by 3pm to fully enjoy all of the amenities on the property or stay at least 2 nights. We arrived late and didn't realize we should have reserved a table in the restaurant which was full for the night. The bar did have great service and balcony seating so we were able to enjoy a light dinner. It was a limited menu, but we enjoyed great charcuterie and cheese boards with interesting cocktails. It was a very convenient location for wine tasting in the Alsace region of France. I highly recommend going to both Equisheim and Riquewihr.
Available breakfast and dinner on site
Bar was used as a extension of restaurants, very inconvenient to have just a drink and relax as a lot of family with children were in the small bar area and smell of food was very strong. The staff said to us was only snacks at the bar area, however, the menu was different from restaurant but full plates dinner. No sure why they didn't use the outside area or area before the main restaurant or next to it that was used during breakfast.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable .The swimming pool was warm with plenty of loungers.A good selection of goods for breakfast.
There is very little seating in the small lounge area so we didn't manage to sit there on any of our 3 evenings. There is only 1 lift up to floor 5 which takes ages. The evening meal is a la carte and so they don't cater for food allergies or intolerances, this is the same for lunchtime and room service. Being dairy intolerant, there was nothing apart from salad to have.
room breakfast situation of hotel swimming pool
reception not particularly welcomingevening meal slow service and slightly overpriced but there were lovely more reasonable restaurants in village and Turkheim
Spa, quiet comfortable
A little backward getting around the different suites…
The massage!!!!!
Stairs in room : older couples need to be informed ahead of time; saving grace was bath on second floor. Also no real place to sit on lower floor/ a couple of not too comfortable chairs.
Everything was wonderful: incredibly spacious room for 3, with plenty of space for things, and a balcony where one could enjoy coffee/tea (provided in room) or to sip a local wine from the bar. The beds were comfy and the linens fresh and crisp. Spa robes and slippers provided. The spa itself had a fun pool with multiple massage jets around it. Sauna and steam rooms also in spa. (You could book massages for extra money, but our booking included use of the regular spa amenities mentioned). Breakfast was sumptuous and delicious with eggs, breakfast meats, salmon, cheeses fresh breads, rolls and croissants. Plus fresh local yogurts, butter, coffees of all kinds (nespresso,) cereal, fruits and nuts. Make your own champagne juice cocktail! And enjoy it inside or on outdoor balcony with views. Spa is close to historic Eguisheim and Colmar which figure in WWII history and are in the wine country.
No complaints.
The spa & sauna
The bar had no redbull or any energy drinks! poor restaurant menu ?
The location. Big shower. Forest & nature outside the hotel
Room is a bit small, mix of old & new designs and furniture. The SPA & swimming pool relatively small for this size of hotel, had to queue to get into sauna. The pool was noisy.
Initially no availablity for restaurant, then offered late table. Did not like being advised of this just after the cancellation time limit.
Everything was outstanding. The staff was kind and even helped us by providing a meal for our 1 year old. Both the restaurant and breakfast were excellent and the room was clean and spacious. We will definitely return.
