    Pros +

    • It was clean , spacious room with magnificent view. The AC worked great and bed was comfortable. The staff was very nice. Even lent us a charger for phone.
    • Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was included and delicious . Optional dinners were tasty and a great value. We also enjoyed the thermal pool and the great view .
    • Swimming in the thermal pool, dinner at the hotel, friendly staff, free transfer to the port

    Cons -

    • Pillows were a little flat for my liking , but that is only a personal preference.
    • Very firm beds which may not suit everyone. The coffee at breakfast is from an automatic all-in-one machine and mediocre at best. You can ask for a proper italian coffee or capuccino from the machine in the kitchen at extra cost.
    • Breakfast was great but it can be improved either way local food for example sfogliatelle etc. it would be good to have WiFi in the room as you can use WiFi only on the terrace.

Good, typical Italian breakfast with lots of options and plentiful. Exceptional, friendly staff. Loved the retro/vintage vibe, thermal pool and fabulous views. Family run and you can tell they really care about the hotel and guesst experience.

The view from the room is stunning. The hotel is clean and beds is comfortable. No noise as it is situated on up of the hill. Stuff is helpful and nice

We loved our stay here, rooms were clean and location great although it was a bit of a climb back to hotel from the port. However, there was a very convenient hourly shuttle service to and from port to the hotel.

No wifi in room, but could access in the common areas.

Excellent location, staff were very friendly and helpful, cheap bar, great view

    9NellPosted on: 6-17-2024

The hotel is beautiful! I love the decor of the place, it's very stylish and glamourous. Staff were wonderful and helpful. The pool was incredible - the nicest thermal pool I found in Ischia. I will definitely return here again.

The coffee was not great from the coffee machine. As others have said, it's a short-ish walk from the ferry port, ending with a very steep ascent to the hotel. I would definitely go back here in future, but these steps could mean it's not be suitable for people who struggle with stairs/energy. The plus side of the hotel's steep location is the view from the pool is fantastic!

Super nice hotel staff, helpful and always smiling. Our view from the room was amazing. The room itself was nice and cosy. The location is.

The dinner was tasteful but the portions were really small for the price.

    Quiet, clean, comfortable, great service!

Hotel Don Pedro is a family owned business with 40yrs and the family is always present to offer their support. Besides Italian they also speak English and German so there is no problem with communication. They offer a free shuttle service to the ferry port. They serve a breakfast buffet and dinner menue. We tried dinner menue once. It was very tasty. Dinner has to be booked in the morning, to have more flexibility we ate out the other nights. The hotel is located on a small hill directly overlooking the port and the main roundabout. From our room we had stunning views over Proceida, Castle Aragonese and lots of the tyrrhenian sea. The main bus station can be reached within 10 minutes by foot.

Well we had the best view, but italian traffic is somewhat! The SP270 is always busy and noise from motorcycles, car, ambulances was really bad. Sometimes drivers use Via Quercia as a bypass when SP270 is crowded. Pedestrian footwalks are hard to find on Ischia island. So walking along Via Quercia with vehicles passing you at high speed was no fun. Besides the noise pollution from the ferries and cars is really bad. Porto is the busiest part of the island. Sometimes we woke up in the morning smelling the exhaust from the old ferries starting their engines in the morning. This is nothing the hotel can do anything about, but should be talken into consideration when looking for a place to stay. Sant'Angelo has banned cars and was a total difference.

Everything was very good. Everyone at the hotel was very nice and willing to help you with anything you needed. The hotel was very clean and had an amazing view! The hotel is very easy to reach from Ischia Porto or you might want to take advantage of the free shuttle that they offer. I will definitely be back!

Amazing location. The views from my balcony, from the terrace of the restaurant, and from the swimming pool are breathtaking. Absolutely lovely and caring staff. Good breakfast. Clean room. Very comfy bad.

Beautiful location; very nice staff/owners and ample breakfast selection with great croissants.

I did not like that the vast majority of guests hopped into the pool without showering and without wearing bathing caps despite the sign which was literally on the pool steps stating it was 'severely forbidden' (in italiano and English) to bathe without showering or without a cap. The shower was 2 meters away from the pool entrance -- so not asking a lot of people to shower first. Yet, my husband and friends and I were the ONLY ones who showered and wore swim caps in the 3 days we used the pool and the policy went unenforced despite owners/staff being on the pool deck and witnessing people breaking the rule(s). I do not like to bathe with random, unwashed strangers and there was quite a lot of hair, oil and perfume residue in the pool. It was salt water so doubtful it causes much of a health risk, but as an avid lap swimmer, I was grossed out. This may seem petty as a complaint, but my fellow swimmers will get it. For everything else; the hotel was in a scenic location, food good and the rooms clean.

Wonderful hotel with attentive, calm staff. The views from the terrace and our room were delightful.

Hotel is surrounded with the beautiful nature of Ischia and all the staff were extremely helpful and super-kind. Special thanks to Gudrun and Adelaide. Hotel provides a free transfer from the port and we felt like we are at home during our stay. I recommend to everyone!

    9PinaPosted on: 7-5-2023

The staff was friendly, professional and very helpful. They were very attentive and caring. The hotel is situated on a hilltop and boasts a beautiful view of the island. The terrasse is lovely, a great spot to read or enjoy an apperitivo.

The uphill climb can be challenging for anyone who has mobility issues. As well, the road leading to the hotel has heavy traffic with cars, taxis and motorcycles ripping through the road at high speeds with no regard for pedestrians.

We loved our time at Don Pedro - actually we'd considered moving hotel after reading a poor review on Trip Advisor but we went with our instinct and were so glad. We saw loads of other places during our stay but none that we wished we'd chosen instead. The complaints in that other review did not stack up as we didn't see any of the faults/damaged areas and sometimes people expect too much or are comparing to some other luxury place they've stayed at.Location - yes it is up a steep hill but it's a 15 min walk (good exercise), or you can get the courtesy bus at certain times (2 minute crazy drive). Down in the town with all the loud traffic etc., is very nice but when you come back to the hotel you realise it's so quiet and with stunning views over the port and across to mainland. The poolside area is fantastic, very clean, well maintained, loads of high quality sun beds. What we liked is that the owners leave guests alone to relax. There's no music, bars etc., although you can get coffee and drinks inside the hotel to take out if you want. The pool is thermal so it's like walking into a nice warm bath. The breakfast is very good, continental with plenty choice of fruit, ham, cheese, eggs, yogurt, breads and cake.If you want dinner (3 courses) you have to order in the morning (small hotel, so it avoids waste). Two choices per course and we ate there 4 nights, food was really tasty. Price was much more reasonable than eating by the port but a mix of the two is good.Staff are very friendly and helpful but, as I've said, leave you to your own devices.Rooms are comfortable with good A/C and cleaned and fresh towels everyday. Our room opened on to a level with amazing views of the port and looking down onto the poolside. You can simply walk out and sunbathe on beds there or down a few steps to the pool.

"Didn't like" is maybe a little strong. More like, "could be better if...":WiFi - we had a signal in our room but you knew when everyone was waking up or in rooms at night as the signal dropped off constantly. I think it's mainly set up for communal areas (poolside was strong), so it's luck if your room is within coverage. Extending the signal shouldn't be too difficult but would be so much better. The rooms are perfectly adequate, traditional older furniture, in keeping with style of hotel but the bathroom was tired and would be nicer with simple clean style tiling. The shower was too small. It was less than 1metre x 1 metre and a shower curtain that sticks to you and floor got very wet! It could be easy to make the shower footprint bigger if refurbishing the bathroom. Personally, I'd rather have a big shower than taking space for a bidet if it was either/or.All that aside, it's appreciated that the cost to do that kind of work must be huge and it is a family small business.
