    Pros +

    • Wonderful hotel with a fantastic staff. The room was great, the grounds were beautiful, and the breakfast was fantastic. Ischia can be tough to navigate for non-Italians, but the hotel staff is extremely helpful in making it as easy as possible.
    • Wonderful hotel and the best staff. It was a bit difficult getting around, you must travel by car but otherwise great, relaxing trip. Two walkable restaurants for dinner were lovely and breakfast at hotel was perfect. Go to the pedestrian walkway, food and shopping area, using the hotel shuttle. A great vibe and energy that could be easily missed.
    • This small, idyllic hotel exceeds expectations in the personal care that it provides to guests. We loved the privacy of the garden apartment that we stayed in and enjoyed the well-staffed facilities that the hotel offered. The family-run restaurants nearby were exceptional and enhanced our stay. It is easy to understand why some of the other guests that we met say that they come back every year, A simply beautiful place to relax. We would love to return some time.

    Cons -

    • Having a small area with a dresser and drawer space for a few days would have been great to have. I would not recommend the scooters or renting a car unless you have exceptional experience driving on an island with narrow roads and understand the rules well
    • We became used to the narrow roads. The hotel offers a great shuttle service. They ran out of limoncello because it was the end of season :( Must come back to enjoy again.
    • Mosquitos-may be the time of year (October)

Our stay at Tenuta Del Poggio Antico was wonderful. The location was excellent…peaceful yet close to everything we wanted to explore. The amenities were great, and the breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious with plenty of fresh choices. The service was outstanding; the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

The staff at Tenuta Poggio Antico is phenomenal. From the moment we arrived, we felt like longtime friends. Claudia is wonderful! The hotel grounds are beautiful, the room was very spacious. Loved the bath robes that were provided. The breakfast spread was incredible! The hotel shuttle service is a game changer, it was so convenient for us. The staff always greeted us with a smile, and had plenty of recommendations for us. If we needed anything, they were quick to provide it. What a lovely town and hotel, I will recommend it to everyone. I just wish I could have visited when it was a little warmer to enjoy the pool! You can tell they truly care about their guests and making it the best experience possible. I can't wait to return. Beautiful resort.

This property is clean, beautiful and has extraordinary views but the most spectacular quality about Poggio Antico is the friendly, welcoming staff. They were all so kind, so helpful, so gracious.

I can’t think of anything we didn’t like.

The rooms were spacious, very clean, staff super accommodating and breakfast was excellent. Great value for money

Beautiful views - peaceful atmosphere and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. Great pool too.

My room was much, much smaller than the rooms of everyone else in our group. They all had a kitchenette and large lounge area. I had to move things to be able to fit our luggage, and our mini fridge could barely hold two small bottles of water (couldn’t chill my wine!), yet I paid just as much if not more than the much better, larger units. The property is isolated with minimal food service so being able to prepare your own meals and snacks is helpful. I would definitely stay there again but request a larger room or better price on the small one. I felt a little cheated.

Words cannot begin to express how wonderful our stay here was. Francesco, Alessandro, Andrea, Claudia and the entire staff worked tirelessly to make our stay spectacular. From the amazing breakfast, pool, jacuzzi, panoramic views, lunch made mostly from produce in the gardens, drinks, shuttle to nearby towns and attractions, restaurant recommendations, they leave no stone unturned. We felt more like family than guests. Just book your stay and they will take care of the rest. This was the highlight of our vacation to Italy!!!

I didn't just like this boutique resort, I LOVED IT. It exceeded our expectations. Tenuta Del Poggio Antico is a true gem, a secret garden, a fairy tale come true: all of the above. The family who own and run the hotel care deeply about every detail-- and it shows! There such a difference between being in a place that makes you feel like a paying customer versus being in a place that makes you feel like you are a treasured guest welcomed into their family's cultivated paradise. Tenuta Del Poggio Antico does just that. I've stayed at many mega resorts that boast a carnival of all-inclusive amenities and felt like a circus. Tenuta Del Poggio Antico is dedicated to each individual guest's maximum comfort and quality of experience par excellence. The rooms were spacious and impeccably clean. We had a junior suite with a kitchenette including all we needed to craft our own snacks and drinks. The owners encouraged us to enjoy their bounty of produce grown in the villa's gardens surrounding the accommodations. I have never had more delicious lemons, cucumbers, squash, peppers, strawberries, etc. The pool is beautifully serene with a view of the ocean that surpasses any other on the island. The hotel is a short but exciting drive up the mountain and provides free hourly shuttles to local sites and/or you may pay a local cabbie (Antonio) to go across the island. We loved talking to Francesco, Alessandro and their family who gave the best local recs on things to do. I must also thank the shuttle drivers. In particular, Luis who was nothing short of a bodyguard/chauffeur in making sure we got where we needed to be and were picked up in good stead. Again, everyone on staff treated us like royalty! I've never experienced that with such sincerity from any other hotel. We spent a week here and left feeling like we were leaving behind family. In that same way, we promised to return and we will!

If you miss the shuttle service (to go out or to be picked up), you can call the cabbie Antonio. He's very entertaining but his timing could be a little different from his estimate. As could his pricing. Just be aware. Try to catch the hotel shuttles! Those staff drivers will take the best care of you and they're free. ;)

The staff at Tenuta were incredible and experts at Ischia. They were so helpful at providing suggestions and crafting an itinerary for my stay. They had dozens of expert picks, and helped me narrow it down and plan my whole day from beginning to end. The shuttles that were available to pick up and drop off at main locations were also very helpful for navigating the island.

Clean and comfortable rooms with great ocean views

Location is a little difficult to get to so transport arrangements are important but expensive

This hotel has the most beautiful setting. The gardens are Spectacular. The pool and rooms overlook the sea. The staff is exceptional. Our suite was like an apartment with kitchen and living room and patios. Outside furniture and beautiful gardens.

It was perfect on all counts. The free shuttle was a. Real plusAnd will take you to the spas and beach clubs and towns.

The hotel is set high above the little town of Forio, giving elevated views and providing a quiet, cool atmosphere.

Everything about this place was breathtaking. Waking up every morning and seeing the sunset every night was dreamy. They also have three amazing local restaurants close by that were also amazing. The staff and everyone at the hotel we’re great people. Cannot wait to go back

    10MagnusPosted on: 10-29-2024

This is the best conceivable place one could imagine for quiet, comfortable solace, restoration, and serene pleasure in the most picturesque of environments. I give this place 10 out 10, and the extremely accommodating and nice staff 11 out of 10.

Jazz music at breakfast. I am aware that many places suffer from this condition. However, not all people have the fortitude to withstand dissonance challenges at such an early hour. Italian pop or schlager is a good option. Italian Baroque music (Rondo Venziano) would be perfect. I would not personally mind Italian symphonic power metal - which is among the best in the world with orchestras like Rhapsody of Fire, Labyrinth, Secret Sphere, Ancient Bard and of course Luca Turilli's Rhapsody, however I acknowledge that not all guests would share my sentiments although this music is far more accessible and sweet to the musical ear.
