What a gem of a hotel. Paola and Dario were gracious hosts, helping us plan two great excursions, and several truly memorable meals. The hotel is well located, a short walk from many restaurants in Forio and also the relaxing Poseidan thermal baths- a must-see. It's also very close to the bus stop, making it easy to reach the Gardini La Mortella, an enchanting spot to enjoy beautifully arranged flora. The rooms are spotless, the view from our balcony encompasses sea and mountain, and the breakfast was delicious and ample. And, after a day of exploring, it was good to relax in the hotel's own thermal pool. We hope we can return here again.

What an "Ideal" experience. Upon completion of our booking, Paola and Dario began a series of communication offering up their services, transfers, Etc. The breakfast was great, overlooking a beautiful garden terrace. There were two pools , one a hot springs pool. The location was ideal. Always available and helpful the hosts were committed to making our stay memorable.

Loved my room and the great staff! The food was amazing. But the real charm of this hotel is the care and attention to the guests from Paola and Dario! Highly recommend!

I would have liked a safety deposit box.

I stayed back in July, but I waited to see the responses from booking.com before I decided to review. I recommend people, please screenshot your booking . Booking.com made false advertising for all vacation homes/hotels that agreed to pay them more commissions. I booked this hotel room which stated that I had 2twin beds and a queen bed with sea view. I screenshotted after checked in the room and showed it to Paola since my room didn’t have sea view. I had bunk bed (which I wouldn’t mind). Paola showed me her contract with booking.com, which showed a regular room. Even though it wasn’t her fault, she still treated us a dinner ($25/pp at the time I stayed). Dinner was good. Lot of food for us. I reported to booking.com when I got home about the whole situation (I also mentioned the beach was like double of 450ft from the hotel). After back and forth with email, they didn’t commit that they advertised wrong. They said “after carefully looking at” my booking, the room didn’t have the sea view , the terrace had sea view after they made changes on their website ?. I was like…wow…so that’s how they do business. Too bad I deleted my screenshots about my booking already after showed it to Paola. The whole hotel pictures and accommodations were very good. All staffs were super nice. Breakfast had plenty of sweets. Even my room didn’t look like any in the current pictures (I assumed they just got updated), but it was clean and very cool with the AC. The room didn’t look not have sea view, but it still was nice to sit out in the terrace, just to look at the greenery. It was peaceful and green. There is a beach close to the hotel ( about 1000ft, which it was said 450 ft on here, with quite steps down, so little tired when go up) . But I liked to walk (10-15 mins) to the one litter further out. It was bigger, easier to get to. But I had to pay $50 for the umbrella ?. Overall, I appreciated what Paola, her husband, and their team treated us. Warm, sweet, and polite.

We enjoyed the wonderful breakfast offered in a picturesque garden setting. Paula and her staff were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Paula made our stay so much more comfortable by giving us 2 adjoining rooms instead of one.

The gardens were beautiful. There are 2 pools, on thermal and one regular, surrounded by beautiful flowers and with view of the sea. Breakfast was great with a lot of variety. We had lunch twice and the food was delicious, especially the tomatoes that they grow on the garden. Paola the owner is great and so welcoming and so are Tosca, Sabina et all the others. Everyone is really helpful. Location is amazing. Close to Citara beach. We recommend this property to everyone.

They work tirelessly to ensure that guests are as comfortable and satisfied as can be. I organized a surprise proposal at their hotel and they went above-and-beyond to ensure that my fiancé would feel special with a room full of balloons, romantic music, and celebratory champagne.The hotel property itself is literal paradise. Each room has a tremendous view of the ocean and comes stocked with everything you'll need for your time on the island. The hotel property includes a marvelous daily breakfast as well as its own thermal pool and accompanying swimming pool.This is undoubtedly the best hotel on Ischia! The location, in Forio, is spectacular. Every element of your stay will be perfect due to the staff's commitment to excellence. Don't hesitate any longer, book your stay before it's too late!

My daughter and spent 4 days in Ischia at hotel Ideal. The owner, Paola is such a genuine and kind person. I feel lucky to have had the privilege to know her! Not only was she incredibly helpful prior to my arrival with coordinating activities, transportation and overall assistance she was so willing to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Paola even drove us to different activities and set up an incredible boat tour of the island. Her entire team is like one big family that felt apart of by the time we left. Breakfast and dinner was divine! This is must stay hotel and missing Ischia and hotel Ideal would be missing out on a wonderful experience.

This was the perfect place to stay in Ischia. The property is absolutely beautiful. The room was very comfortable. Staff were super friendly and helpful, including booking dinner reservations and transportation to the ferry port for me. The location is great, an easy walk to the beach, thermal pools, and town. Would absolutely stay here again.

The breakfast service and food options were outstanding , ie freshly made omelette at my request, coffee made to my liking, fresh baked cake/pastries, homemade preserves. The gorgeous garden, covered patio setting for dining was so tranquil. We especially loved the planned ahead breakfast that was waiting for us when we had to depart before the scheduled breakfast hour. The staff and proprietors (Paola and Dario) were most friendly and go out of their way to accommodate their guests . Dario arranging a dinner reservation for us at Marvisiello , which was the best meal experience we had on the island! When we asked about scooter rentals, he arranged to have the scooter delivered and picked up for us, making it so easy and convenient.

Our stay here surpassed all expectations. The hotel has an incredible relaxed feeling. Breakfast is served in the lush garden and the owners are there every morning, greeting the guests and helping with restaurant reservations and day trips. They are two of the nicest people you could meet. There's is a really sense of family here. The rooms are beautiful, spotless, with a good sized terrace to enjoy the sunshine. We had dinner in the hotel one evening, a must. Exceptional value and delicious food, go hungry !This is the kind of hotel you will want to return to again and again. We will be back for sure.

Dario and Paola are fantastic hosts. Picked us up and dropped us off at the port. Also to the thermal spa and back. Very friendly in a genuine subdued way. Beautiful and quiet property. Every other staff member was polite, friendly, and helpful. Room was updated and beautifully appointed. Nice (shared) terrace. Pool and thermal tub also beautiful.

The personal, warm-hearted, welcoming attention by Paola, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, her highly motivated staff, the on-site thermal spring pool with 38°C and adjacent regular swimming pool, very well kept building and facilities in a beautiful natural setting, away from the busy street but easy walking distance to the Poseidon Thermal Baths, Citara beach, nearby restaurant L’Isola, gorgeous views.

The variety of fresh fruit at the breakfast buffet was a little limited.

What an amazing stay we had! Paola and Dario were so helpful and warm. You can tell they truly love what they do and want their guests to have the best experience on the island. Breakfast is included and always had delicious cakes and pastries along with made to order omelettes. They were always there to answer any questions we have and were also super helpful with booking activities for us like a boat day. They even picked us up at the port AND dropped us off when we were leaving. We will definitely be back again! Thanks for everything!Also one thing to note: when looking for the hotel on google maps, the name of the hotel is actually Hotel Ideal in Forio* My sister got dropped off at the wrong hotel when she first arrived so make sure to search it under Hotel Ideal

Great hospitality! Paula and her husband were incredibly kind and attentive, sharing the best tips about the island and even going out of their way to pick us up from the port and make reservations for us... The staff is also very friendly, making us feel right at home. This family-run hotel gives a wonderful sense of warmth and welcome. We had a small issue with our reservation, but it was quickly resolved. The pool area is beautiful, making our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended, specially for families!

The best place we could find to stay at the whole island. Super kind owners, family run business, top notch service. Dario picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry as a complimentary service, arranged a scooter and provided so many useful tips. Very peaceful location with a beautiful garden, two pools which one of them is thermal one. The best local beach of the whole island just few minutes walking underneath the hotel. 10/10, definitely gonna come back one day. Thank you so much ?❤️

I really cannot express what an absolute gem of a hotel this is.......From the very start, the staff were amazing accommodating our needs, our Italian is not very good. Nothing was too much trouble : questions about the location, the island, renting scooters, everything was taken care of. We had dinner at the hotel on one of the evenings, the food was absolutely amazing, an incredibly authentic experience, and there was so much on offer. The grounds of the hotel are absolutely wonderful. The garden is a stunning classic mediterranean style, with olive trees, bougainvillea and two lovely swimming pools. One pool is the solar heated seasonal pool, very large, with whirlpool functions, and the other is the geothermal heated pool. It is not just suited for families, but couples or solo travellers would be equally as comfortable and welcome here.Proximity to one of the best beaches on the island is great, a short walk. We hired scooters on another day and toured around the island, there is plenty to see and do.Breakfast was all fresh, a choice of breads, pastries, home made jams and fruit. Tea or coffee, it was all very pleasant on the garden terrace .All the staff were incredibly helpful whenever we needed a question answered.this place is an 11 out of 10.

Very nice & cozy family owned business. The hotel garden is lovely, so is the hotel pool. Dario & Paola are the best hosts ever, taking care of their guests at Hotel Ideal! They constantly made sure we had everything we needed. Their tips & recommendations definitely made our holidays more entertaining. The hotel staff were all TOP, from waiters to cleaning ladies, everyone is nice and does its best for their guests.Good location, near to the Chiaia beach. Poseidon Gardens (therme) are also at walking distance, a place we highly recommend. Do not miss the La Mortella botanical garden either, it is a wonderful place to visit in Ischia. The area of Sant'Angelo is also a great place to visit, with fine restaurants & clean sandy beaches with wonderful water, definitely proper to swim in even after mid of September. You may get there from Hotel Ideal by bus. Forio city centre is at a 20-30 min walk away from the hotel, offering a solid range of restaurants & several boutiques.

I wish we stayed longer than 7 nights & had better weather (some days were rainy), to visit more of Ischia - isola verde.

We had a wonderful stay in Ischia at Hotel Ideal, in September 2024. It's a cozy family owned business, Dario & Paola are the most kindest & cheerful hosts. They really take care of their guests, making sure you have all you need. On arrival day, our hydrofoil trip from Naples to Ischia Forio has been cancelled due to bad weather conditions. However, Dario was very thoughtful and has informed us beforehand (despite no info received from Alilauro company), taking care of rebooking a transfer for us. He even picked us up from the port in Ischia after a long day on the way. We appreciated it A LOT!! He saved our day.The location is very nice, a quiet place to enjoy your holidays, near to the Chiaia beach. We also received great tips from our host for visiting the surroundings. Public transport available within 5-10 min of walking.

Bad weather conditions (mid September), some days were windy & rainy. However, our host did its best & recommended us alternatives for things to do in Ischia by that weather.

Dario, Paula and all the staff were superb. Nothing is a problem. Breakfast on the garden terrace is a perfect start to the day. The pool area is never too busy and has lovely views of the mountains which dominate the island. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant 3 times during our stay which was excellent but we also ate in many good restaurants in Fario, some recommended by Dario. We stayed in Hotel Boutique (Ideal) for 12 days and we did not want to leave. Care and attention to customer need was paramount. Thank you.

Our room was a little small but for all the time we were in our room it really wasn’t a problem.
