- Friendly, courteous, attentive staff. Absolutely beautiful views. Very quiet and safe location. In fact, they found a notebook I left behind and notified my next destination to let me know they had it. They quickly took pictures of a few pages for me and sent them to me via text. That was above and beyond service!
- Stunning view and great hot swimming pool.
- Owner/creator Nicola was the highlight. He would great with his big beaming smile. His grandson Nicola, staff, and family made this picturesque Italian dream spot all the more accommodating, we will be back!!
Cons -
- The bedroom was a little small for travelers with luggage.
- The restaurant's menu should get updated. The breakfast buffet was dull and most things (eggs, omelets, etc) required added payment.
- The annex beds are not comfortable. We also had a leak, presumably from the air conditioning

Punta Chiarito was a dream come true! The staff could not have been better. Super helpful and friendly in every way. The food was delicious and fresh from farm to table. The accommodations were excellent and what a dream to relax at the pools overlooking the Tyrennian Sea. We will be back for sure!!
Loved everything!
Beautiful location with panoramic sea views and natural hot springs filling the pool. Very helpful staff. A lovely place to be. We also liked the bars and restaurants up the road in Panza, particularly Pizzeria de Luca.
I went for a week with my teen daughter and we had the best of times. Our room was spacious with twin beds, a separate sopha, a desk, en suite bathroom and a lovely terrace with sea view towards St Angelo, one of the main attractions on Ischia. The hotel has a unique underground pool in a natural cave, which leads to an outdoors one situated on a secluded terrace overlooking theMediterranean. There is a separate small pool on the side. Both constantly fed with naturally hot mineral water. We had breakfast included and every day there were freshly made cakes in addition to croissants, cereal, continental ham&cheese. The hotel has two on site restaurants and a bar. For the evening, there is abundant set menu. You can choose from the dishes or get the lot. The set price for a starter, pasta dish, main and desert was what in other places you could be charged just for a main course. We were eating there every evening. I don't like pasta in principle, but i was having some all the time. The taste is delicious. The second restaurant is acantine with lighter options from regional cuisine. The resort has its own farm and tomatoes, aubergine, the olive oil or wine come from it. By now, you would have guessed I loved our stay. But I am honest about it. One final word about the hosts. From arranging the airport transfer from Naples, through to the waiters, Luigi taking us around to show what's where, the owner who beavers around on the tomato bed and gives you freshly picked beans, Mia,the 9 month dog and cats we were welcome as family. You feel they love what they are doing and they are one with nature.
We only had one little issue with the hot water in the shower room. We reported it and it was fixed immediately.
The intention of this review is to provide Booking.com with an objective account of innocent guests (us) who strongly believe that the hotel Punta Chiarito deliberately misled us, and to prevent others on their holidays being similarly cheated and dissapointed. As your records show, we made a booking based on the Booking.com listing (main page with the room type table containing key features of each room), which was different from the listing page shown by the hotel’s receptionist of which we have a photographic evidence (please see below for detail). It is a technical misdescription that Luigi refused to cancel the booking, repeatedly, calling it an annex. An annex is an extension to or beside a main building and not by any stretch of the imagination almost 1km from it.On the Booking.com listing, we chose the accommodation based on the map location closest to our main place of interest: Sorgeto hot spring in the sea. This resort was shown located right next to the hot spring and our “Special Request” to the hotel upon booking enquired about the access to the spring. We noted that the room was in a “separate building” but it didn’t incur to our mind that the room booked was far away from the resort and further than many more accommodations in the village from the hot spring (many of which were cheaper). We tried to cancel the booking within one hour as it was not initially made clear that the room is almost 1km (along steep, narrow and probably unsafe to walk) by road from the resort. But the resort refused to cancel and Booking.com contacting them for me and they refused again. Booking.com said they cannot cancel a booking and the resort said they cannot change bookings with Booking.com. Booking.com did not answer my further messages by customer service message which is very disappointing. We had originally booked in order to be close to and use the Solgeto spa in the sea, which is open to the public. There are nearer cheaper well rated alternatives.
We expected Booking.com to help but as no help transpired despite my several messages we decided not to waste our money entirely & went to Punta Chiarita. On arriving I tried to explain at reception to Teresa (with the intention that others are not misled) what “annex” means in English. Theresa said she did not care and rudely changed the subject. It angered me that Teresa, a large woman, shouted at and acted menacingly to my wife who is a dimunitive Japanese lady. Teresa argued aggressively that it was Booking.com’s fault that when we booked we did not see that the room was 800m from the resort. She argued that her booking page was different. It was 6.30pm in the evening so we had no option but to go ahead and Teresa gave us the key to the room. Then Mariano from the resort restaurant showed us around the resort. Mariano was sweet and the restaurant & facilities of the resort would probably seemed charming (although a little shabby) had we had not been treated so badly. Then we were driven to our building. Most of the drive was a narrow single lane beside a rusted chain-link fence. It felt isolated, abandoned and grim. By the entrance from the car park several tall white posts leant at odd angles with broken fastenings and no sign: suggesting it was formerly another hotel that had gone bust. Seemingly no thought or care was added since. The entrance corridor was dirty & bare with a filthy doormat. Our room was cheaply furnished with a bare light bulb hanging from an old anchor. The bed, like a camp bed, was uncomfortable. Neither of the bedside lights worked or the power sockets to work to charge phones. A socket by the door with a mosquito killer plugged in had not been turned on and the socket was faulty. I killed several mosquitos. The floor throughout was filthy. The bathroom was outdated and the shower had black mould and someones hair. My wife went to the toilet and the bidet plug would not drain.
We stayed in 3 different hotels on Ischia (same location): Punta, Villa Myremi and Torre Sant Angelo. Punta has a unique looking like a cave tunnel with thermal water. Torre has the best views and a good breakfast (15 EUR if you not in hotel), and Villa Myremi has the best value for money and customer care.At Punta we enjoyed a transfer from the bus stop and a nice greeting from the hotel. We also enjoyed staying for few more hours at the pool after check out. Thank you for this.We had a room with a sea view. It was OK. The views from our room in Torre were amazing, much better.Punta has 2 swimming pools: one small and one long with a unique, looking like a cave tunnel. This was a highlight of our stay. I’ve never seen anything like this. We loved it. Both pools have thermal water with healing properties. But keep in mind that these waters bore various components of radium, radon, thorium, uranium, and actinium. Together with this the radioactivity is so low that it is not harmful. It’s still recommended to remain immersed for no more than 15 minutes. 10 min down the stairs from hotel you can find the sea. Please keep in mind that Sorgeto beach is not sandy or pebbled. It has big rocks, some sharp with lots of fish and crabs in the water. Baia di Sorgeto is also a public thermal springs with a number of visitors during the day, but it’s empty till 8am. In Torre (our 3rd hotel) they have 3 pools, but nothing like a unique tunnel of Punta. In addition, in Torre they have a wellness center with a sauna, whirlpool, steam room, hot/cold/massage showers. No additional charges. I enjoyed it.There are 3 restaurants at Punta. One is for breakfast (8-10). There is an additional menu for extras like scrambled eggs (from 5 EUR). Another restaurant is for lunch (12-17, but we once came at 16:25 and were told they are closing). Here you can order food like salads and brushettas. If you want hot food like pastas go to Da Gisela.
I’ve travelled with a child. We both normally go to bed at 8pm. It was a bit challenging to get used to Italian lifestyle (late dinners, we normally don’t eat after 6), but, at the end we adapt (instead of late dinners we had earlier and late lunch).Although we had some issues, we enjoyed it. Thank you for all positive moments and smiles. No electric kettle for a cup of tea in the room.No mosquito repellents. It was great we had them at Villa Myremi and Torre. No dinners at earlier time.Poor customer service. No salt on the table, no milk, dirty cutlery on the table, staff ignoring you (to make an order in the restaurant I waved my hand 6 times), nobody offered me cheese when I’ve ordered pasta).Additional charges for lots of things like scrambled eggs at breakfast, bath robes, water...Poor breakfast (hard bread, burnt croissants, a little choice). Good breakfast at Torre Sant Angelo (great quality and big choice of items (including freshly cooked), cannot be even compared to Punta's.During the dinner although we come and ordered first (first customers, came at 19:15), we were waiting for our food for 1 hour 10 min.Poor communication. Although I said that my daughter only eats spaghetti they brought spaghetti for me and big square pasta for her (pasta con cozze and pasta con gamberi/ pasta with mussels and pasta with shrimps). My daughter doesn’t like mussels and she doesn’t like square pasta. She was dreaming to try some Italian pasta. Instead of going to bed she was waiting for so long for her meal, and she was so upset to leave the restaurant with the empty stomach. Although I paid for our food to the waiter, we were chased by Mario who threatened us, claiming that we didn’t pay. It was strange that he didn’t communicate with another man. It was also strange to observe him running around like a headless chicken during all evening, trying to do everything by himself and leaving the other waiter without the job (he just stood most of time).
We had the most amazing time at Punta Chiarito! The location is very remote which was perfect for us as it made our stay so relaxing; the facilities are great, the views are exceptional and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food was also incredible - we ate in all three of the restaurants and they were all fabulous. We spent a lot of time relaxing by the pool but it is also very easy to visit the nearby beach (with thermal waters!) and go to the lovely town of St Angelo (the hotel provides a shuttle service). We can't wait to come back!
The decor in room we stayed in was a little outdated (but this was outweighed by the amazing views)
the hotel was in a beautiful location with very friendly staff. the facilities were good and the fresh vegetables and salads from the hotels grounds were great.the only negative was that whilst the details indicated that we would be in a separate building, no indication was given that this was a considerable way away from the hotel itself. however, the transport between the two was good and always available.
see above
It was amazing. The staff was so helpful and friendly. The views are incredible. The pools are spectacular. This resort is where you want to stay when visiting Ischia Italy.
There was nothing to dislike about Punta Chiarito Resort
Location, ambiance, food, service, thermal pool and ill say it again…location
Walk down to beach is a bit daunting since you must climb back? About 50 meters elevation drop to the beach. This wasn’t a problem since we passed on the beach.
The views from around the entire property were incredible! Also, the breakfast was very good. The pool and spa areas were nice, but crowded. The staff working at breakfast were very helpful and friendly.
The room we first received was very very small. We were able to switch to a larger room (which is what we booked), on the second day.The beds were very hard/uncomfortable and the pillows were hard and thin. Also- the pool area was very crowded and there were not enough chairs by the pool. We left the pool area as the only options were to sit on the cement.
Thermal baths and excellent regional italian cuisine.
The dependence (the only available rooms on the Booking.com webside) is nearly a kilometre from the main hotel up a very steep hill. The hotel provides a shuttle bus but you do not feel you are part of the main complex, although all the facilities are all available.
A great place to relax and enjoy the pool. Food all fresh from their farm- no need to go anywhere else.
The entrance is up a steep hill- once I was there it was fine. The bed was hard.
View
Lack of privacy on balcony and minimal in room facilities- mini bar coffee maker etc
The view from the main restaurant and the pool
Our building was far away the main part of the hotel. Difficult to drive to the hotel. Awful, awful breakfast. Very weary and old furniture and hotel, needs refurbishing.
Absolutely unique hotel with incredible views and friendliest owner and his family. We enjoyed amazing Terme pools, organic food that they grow and relaxing spa(which I highly recommend) also you can buy their own cosmetics, olive oil, vine and other natural products. Beach downstairs is absolutely unique with sparkling feeling of hot and cold water together! Water is so clear, you can see many fishes and nature. We will definitely come back! And highly recommend to everyone who like to experience unique and incredible places on earth!
Swimming pool (thermal spa water and swim through a tunnel !) stunning views, and quiet. If you want to relax this is ideal. Beach with thermal springs walking distance and free shuttle to nearby village. V good food grown locally, and inexpensive. really liked fresh squeeze orange at breakfast.
Bathroom could do with upgrading. Standing shower too small.
